Extremely disappointed in this school. My Child was bitten and hit in the stomach with a hydroflask and none of the staff did anything to correct it. They were not understanding in the slightest and were extremely difficult to communicate with. The front office lady the blonde was was extremely rude and dismissive as if my 6 year old wasn't bitten and hit in the stomach. Will be going to the Board to talk about this because this is unacceptable and I won't let it be dismissed. If I could give zero stars, I would. read more

The front office staff member I interacted with is certainly unforgettable. She manages to make every visitor feel like they're interrupting her day, which is quite an accomplishment for someone whose job is literally to greet people. Her tone could be described as 'professional' if professionalism meant rolling eyes, sighing loudly, and speaking with the warmth of a DMV clerk on their worst day. It's truly impressive how she can answer a simple question while still making you feel small for asking it. this school is horrible the bathrooms are dirty ,some of the locks on the stalls are broken and still have not fixed it ,writing on the bathroom stalls with inappropriate wording.there was a lockdown because a autistic kid jumped the fence and nobody was watching the kid.the bullying is bad the teachers don't even care.the trash cans are gross,the teachers are so rude to students.if I could give it 0 stars I would I would not recommend this school. read more

The teachers are mean rude and disrespectful to your child and the parents. Because this is a charter school they feel they can do what they want. Sat in line for after school pickup and her teacher would not let her leave until everyone else had left the class. And this happened more than once. Would never recommend this school to my worst enemy. read more

As a tutor, I have serious concerns about Legacy's kindergarten classes. I have numerous parents needing my services because Legacy is not using developmentally appropriate teaching methods for their Kindergarten classrooms. Children are expected to sit and work from desks although, at these tender ages, they learn most effectively in small groups and being allowed to explore and move around the classroom. Part of the benefit of small groups is that the children help each other learn; correcting, encouraging and helping each other. The reason for group tables and "stations" that are in most other kindergarten classrooms is so students can get up and explore. Honestly, who can name a 5-year-old that can sit for 4 hours at a desk and stay focused?? I don't fault their upper level classrooms as the siblings seem to be doing well with the curriculum. That said, I have a sinking feeling that Legacy is using their lower level classrooms to weed out children and create a lopsided situation in the upper levels to improve their school rankings. By ensuring the bottom 60% or so fail/have to repeat, parents are incentivized to take their children elsewhere. This is tragic. I can verify (as their tutor) that these students would have significant success if taught using proven techniques for their age groups. Furthermore, Legacy appears to be very resistant to placing students into special education to get additional support. This is another indicator that, perhaps, instead of trying to educate, they are focused on students who are accelerated and leave the average and below students behind. :-/ It's a very disturbing situation and I hope they reconsider and start providing a more developmentally appropriate environment for their youngest students. It's not just about choosing the cream of the crop, they are creating long-term problems for capable children by refusing to teach them the skills they need in kindergarten, they are setting them up for long-term failure for the rest of their educational experience. Not everyone can afford a tutor and, once an entire year behind (thanks to an inappropriate curriculum), most students will never, ever catch up. read more

Great school when it comes down to curriculum. For lunch they charge $2.75 for one child and $1.50 for breakfast. Eating food at school should not cost money. The school is money hungry, everything cost money. There are amazing teachers. Student are not allowed to play games that involve the category of tag....on short days or half days there is no lunch provides. Also some teachers/staff show favoritism towards certain students. This school is great except for the way they handle kindergarten students my son just started and they seem to expect them to sit still no talking, I mean this is a very crucial year where kids learn to love school, teachers and learning but no they have issues with children speaking, it was sad to see children crying for there parents and no one comforting them or acknowledging them I asked my son do the teachers stop to check on them give them a minute to try and calm them he said No they just let them cry. Love this school my son will be attending 8th and he can't wait. Been waiting along time to get into a charter school . I wish they had a high school But that's okay. The wait is worth it. The staff is so amazing. He will do well. Public school was not doing him any justice and wasn't much of a challenge. Thank you Legacy Traditional School in Avondale. If you have a child who attends LTS Avondale you should be aware that they do not know the meaning of the word "emergency". I am listed as an emergency contact and received a phone call from LTS Avondale when no emergency existed. The person called me simply to ask a question that was absolutely not related to any emergency. When I did not answer her question satisfactorily she attempted to obtain from me an alternate phone number for the child's parent. I have since verified that this call did in fact come from LTS Avondale. If you have a child attending LTS Avondale please counsel your emergency contacts as to how you would like them to deal with non-emergency communications from the school. read more

Had a son who graduated from 8th grade there and now has graduated from HS , a daughter who currently is attending this school. Overall, I'm happy with most of the experiences here but I have to say alot has changed there and I'm not 100% satisfied with that. I pray they don't became like a public school when it comes to the liberal mentality that public schools are currently teaching and enforcing. This school is about Freedom, support law enforcement and Military, the red white and blue, the Constitution and it would be a shame for all that to change. read more

I love this school! I truly do feel as though my children are receiving a top notch education! The program is accelerated and the curriculum can be somewhat aggressive which I absolutely don't mind as my son needs to be challenged. I highly recommend this location to anyone! read more
