I brought my doctor shy husband here and he appreciated it. However things have changed. The office staff doesn't return phone calls. They won't let you order a different brand contacts if preferred even though other shops have done it no problem in the past for 20 years. Even my coworkers were confused as to why it would be a problem. This location told me I'd have to call the other location in order to visit the doctor ALL OVER AGAIN to be "fitted". I can't do that easily due to my dependents. The automated phone system is absolutely abysmal if you're unable to speak clearly. There's no physical button to request a human. So good luck if you're sick or have a throat module.

I called the office and the woman at the front desk argued with me stating I had already rescheduled this and she needed to know why I was doing so again. I explained I had not rescheduled, this was my first time calling the office but she did not believe me. I'm not sure why she was so argumentative or why this mattered. I ended up cancelling the appointment as this is no way to treat a new patient. There are plenty of other optometrists in the area that will have better customer service.

I looked up different eye places and saw that this office wasn't far from me and they looked really clean and professional. I gave them a call and asked them if I could just get my glasses there since I had already seen an optometrist and had my prescription. They said it was no problem at all and gave me their hours. I came in and it was a little busy which was expected since I didn't make an appt or anything since I was just getting glasses. They have such a huge selection!!! I was in glasses heaven! I tried on clear lenses and also sunglasses as well. I found my perfect pair. Looked at the price tag and ouch it was a $500 pair of sunglasses. Hahaha. I said to myself, dang it why do I have to have expensive taste? But knowing that my insurance would cover some of it I tried them on with the assistant that helped me and I fell in love. I never heard of Tom Fords but apparently they are a really good brand. They do have many other brands here that are higher end and mid end and lower end also. But they were overall very nice and professional. I will be coming here from now on and brining my kids here as well. Thank you guys for my amazing sunglasses!!!

I can only recall Frances but there are two others I have personally met. The receptionist, Amy, is a pleasure to talk to. In one of my recent visits, after my annual checkup, I had considered getting contacts as the glasses fog from masks was quite annoying (not to mention I am always always cleaning them, which is to be expected). I've worn glasses for years. When getting fit for contacts, I struggled quite a bit with my reflexes and started overheating. I have always been extremely twitchy when it comes to my eyes and such, but I nearly fainted after a struggle to get it in my eye. Had to lay on the floor until my vision came back and they brought me water. I was told I have something called Vasovagal Syncope-- I cannot believe I have gone my whole life without knowing this and it explains SO MUCH. Such as being extremely uneasy around the talk of blood or anatomy to the point of almost fainting, struggling very badly with eye drops, makeup, and the air being blown in my eyes, and having trouble getting my blood pressure taken anywhere or dealing with extreme prolonged heat exposure. I thought this was normal and the only reason I am including it in my review is to note how validating it was to finally have an explanation. This store is clean. The bathroom is clean. Their Covid-19 system and policies work well and it's overall a joy to come to. They were also very understanding when I had a pair of sunglasses that kept falling down my nose to no avail-- exchanged for free as a one time courtesy. Sticking with metal frames for sure. I've also purchased a pair of very nice eyeglasses and had née lenses installed in my previous frames. Professionals through and through. Cannot recommend enough.

We were passing the optical dept and I mentioned to him I someday will check out the Optometry office for an eye check and he said just go and talk to them and make an appt. I walked in and they said how about right now? WTH? So I did. A little paper work and like 2 min and I was in Dr Winkelmans chair. He is an independent practice housed in this Costco. I see a retina specialist for a condition I have so my exam with him was not super comprehensive as I had just seen my retina doctor. I just needed a new prescription just for reading. The downside is he does not accept medicare or prominence..the pro side is the exam was only $119, and took right around 30 minute to complete. Today I was back in Costco to fill the prescription for glasses. There was no one else there, so I got helped right away by Jesse. He helped me with frames that looked good on me. I am a picky gal that likes designer stuff and I immediately gravitated to Cartier. Yep..they were $399! But..I had a rewards certificate from my costco card that covered almost all the cost. I purchased a couple more frames at less$$ and each one after the first got $ 50 off. Plus, prominence paid $200 towards the whole purchase! I am so happy with this dept!!! Customer service is beyond spectacular(thank you Jesse) and the prices are fantastic. Let me talk just a little more about the spendy Cartier frames. I went online OMG..the model # of the ones I purchased is CT03730 burgundy. In looking online..the same frames elsewhere are $895, $704,$981 etc..Damn I have some expensive taste! Not sure how costco can buy and resell these frames for half or more then online companies! I highly recommend this whole optical dept. You do not need a Costco membership to see the doctor but do to purchase frames and glasses. The savings just paid for the cost of membership plus!!! 1

The folks in the office need better training to READ THE NOTES. I called and, I'll be honest, I rudely asked to be obliterated from the system. This practice doesn't have either the man-power or the training to make sure things run smoothly. My first review I wrote was frustrated.... Now, I'm just mad. The lack of awareness is astounding. Debbie and Britt were absolutely amazing and so helpful when it came to purchasing glasses. They accepted our VSP insurance and explained everything clearly, which made the whole process simple and reassuring. They were incredibly patient and accommodating--my husband was in a wheelchair, and I had my toddler with me, and we never once felt rushed or uncomfortable. The service was kind, professional, and very understanding of our situation. We were able to get the appointment, prescription information, and have our glasses shipped to us even though we're coming from a small town.
