Highly unlikely for the…read moreInsta era crowd, but for people who are there to bowl, it's easily 5 stars, and one of our favorite places to frequent for league and practice. Since bowling is our primary reason for going, 5 stars it is! The equipment isn't the latest and greatest, but the lanes are taken care of and the staff are quick to fix any issues that come up, and it's a really affordable way to spend the time (especially if you have league bowler pricing...so feel free to join a league!). The front desk staff has always been outgoing and friendly; becoming even more so as the staff have quickly recognized us as repeat/regular customers. Leagues are great and run well. A far cry from how leagues are run at our previous bowling alleys in Philadelphia. There are leagues for bowlers of every level, from extremely serious sanctioned leagues to really fun beer leagues. I don't drink when I go to Westbrook because I'm typically driving, but they do have a full bar with TV's (as well as TV's near each lane). I've never eaten Big Swerve's BBQ but there's a pop-up there (with mixed reviews from those I know who've tried it). Otherwise, you're looking at soft drinks and snacks from the vending machines that are always available. Another big reason to check out Westbrook is Big Jim's Pro Shop. Jim is really friendly, and is highly respected. The shop is almost always busy, crowded with folks getting new balls or regulars just hanging out and talking. The prices are more than fair and the drilling is exceptional. Just beware that it's a legit bowling alley focused on the game. Which means that even if there are 42 lanes, you might want to check ahead of time for availability. It's not uncommon to show up and encounter leagues or high school teams competing on the weekdays or run into a tournament on the weekends. If you can slip in during the weekday hours, it's a nice chill place. We're just glad we finally found an alley that we really enjoy with a great pro shop, good conditions, friendly staff, and fair pricing. We definitely recommend it!

I was bummed that we arrived before it opened because I hadn't checked the opening times, but imagine my surprise to discover they leave clubs and balls out for people to play and only charge $5 on the honor system. The course is well maintained and enjoyable and we had a wonderful morning just the two of us playing, the only other people on the property being a few others using the driving range. Looks like they have a nice selection of ice cream, sodas, hotdogs and other stuff at the snack bar too. Great spot! Family friendly and won't put a dent in your wallet either!

The mini golf was fairly well maintained, easy to get started and a lot of fun. It was really affordable compared to most mini golf places in the area. My favorite part was the ice cream stand! Nice people working here, decent sized shop with some ok merchandise, decent facilities. The majority of the batting cages you have to sign up for in advance which are primarily used by teams, but there are three batting cages in the back which are token-operated and do not require a reservation. They have bats and helmets for people to borrow. Little space outside of the cages so no room for practice swings. One token costs $1 and gets you ten pitches from the machine. I bought 20 tokens for my son and I. Unfortunately, the machine jammed constantly, and/or the token machine stole our tokens, so then you have to go back to the front to tell an employee, but there are only two employees and they're dealing with thirty customers at once so it takes time for them to come back and sort things out. The machine ate one of my last tokens and I couldn't even be bothered to go tell an employee again because I just wanted to leave. When it was working, the batting cages were fun and both my son and I enjoyed it. But because of the malfunctions we'll probably look for another batting cage in south Jersey before we come back here.

The "club" feels like an old-school swim club, complete with high school/college life guards, a snackbar selling inexpensive junk food, a GROSS bathroom to get changed in, and 3 pools. (All of which are HIGHLY chlorinated so you feel like you GOTTA shower right when you get out. The baby/toddler pool - oddly enough - is not as icky as the "medium sized" pool that has a 2.5 foot shallow end. This is the pool my daughter just LOVED - and when we arrived it was filled with kids from a nearby camp group. Once they left the noise level improved considerably. The large "main" pool has a deep (12 foot) diving area with a low and high board, lap lanes and a recreational swimming area that starts at 3.5 feet. It is also heated. We are happy we had a chance to come here. $600 for the summer seems a litle steep - but if you live in the area and don't have your own pool - and if you have kids - this is probably a good option.
