We usually stay in town at one of the motor lodges and frequent the local establishments for food and drink. One place we hit at least once is McGann's Pub and Wine Bar. It is run by a couple, Denny and Ellen, in what was a residence at some point. The wine bar is in the lower level with a bar and tables spread through out. There is also an outdoor patio. The owners are transplants from the Chicago area and some of the decor shows their roots (Chicago Cubs stuff, I am a White Sox fan :)). The place is very relaxing and laid back with a mixture of locals and out of towners clientele. A great place to meet people while enjoying a glass of wine or a beer. They make their own thin crust pizzas which also show their Chicago roots. Great pizza! It may take some time to get as Denny makes each pizza with love.

Their shuffle board table is one of the best I've ever played on -- full sized, smooth and fast. It may take a few tries to get the hang of it, but once you get zeroed in it makes for a great game. And, of course, as their name implies, the featured activity is axe throwing. Tossing a dangerous tool, trying to stick it in a wooden wall, and hitting the target for maximum points is harder than it looks. But once you get the technique mastered (even partially) it is incredibly satisfying and a lot of fun. Three stars for the bar, five four the games, four overall.
