I went to their location in the mall and it's a lot of neat nerdy collectibles, mostly from comic books and western franchises and media (think Marvel, DC comics, Star Wars, etc.) and that really isn't my realm of fandom, so it was just a quick walkthrough for me. They had comics, figures, posters, wall scrolls, and TCG. Some tables were set up for tabletop and TCG so they did do their best to foster a community here. I saw workers talking with customers and parents with their kids about TCG. There's some anime goods there, but nothing that truly caught my eye. read more

I've been here a couple times and always walk away with something I enjoy. Great for casual browsing for action figures, manga, posters, games, trading cards, collectibles, comics, etc. I'm a casual comic book reader and I like dropping by to see what's new whenever I'm in the area. This time, I walked away with some new issues of Batman, Robin, and Dark Crisis. Out of all my visits, I haven't had a negative experience. I prefer this Legends location to others just because this one carries the largest selection for comics. Def recommend! read more

If I did work and have a fair amount of money, I would continue shopping here. I'm very close by to come browse Pokémon cards. Instead of taking care and dating a female that I want, I use my money to buy their cards. I do not need to get a good card each time I go there, I happen like to collect a lot of bulk ones for my collection. A lot of customers especially from the offerup app say it's expensive here but I can hang on to the price and afford them. It is way better to get the cards and pck I need than having it shipped from websites like Pokémon center. Mostly cards from offerup could be stolen Pokémon cards. A few white American males are nice to communicate with. They even recognize my name each time I come in. :) . I'm pretty shock the employees do have value for me. I use to not bond with white Americans well enough but it takes effort to socialize within the white American community. I'm Vietnamese American and barely speak English at home. read more

It's super disappointing to see a store that used to sell products at MSRP sell at scalper prices for newer products. They were selling (on release weekend) the ETB for the new set for the Pokemon TCG, Prismatic Evolutions, at a whopping $140. It's extremely ridiculous since the MSRP is $54.99. Selling product at ridiculous prices not only enables scalpers more, but it prices out the average person from the hobby. I hope they go back to selling at MSRP prices, but from the looks of things they most likely won't. read more

staff is super knowledgeable the guy I talked to took like 10 minutes out of his time to enthusiastically tell me everything I needed to know about different things I could use in the drama class i teach during our downtime..I asked if there was something that I could get that involves some type of roll playing or improvisation & he showed me a bunch of different games that would be perfect. I also brought some Pokemon cards here I didn't need anymore and they gave me away better price then the place called Just Flip did. I really love coming here ever since I found it a couple months ago. I cannot believe it took me three years to realize that the spot was here at the mall, but now that I know about it I try to go once every couple months. I would go more often but honestly I feel like I spend a little too much here when I do shop lol. (That's not to say that they are expensive, I just want so many things when I do come here) The staff is always very friendly, they greet you as soon as you walk in. They do enforce masks even now which honestly I personally prefer but I know not everybody likes. The staff seem to really know what they're talking about when it comes to the merchandise within the store as well as just plain manga and anime in general. It's really nice conversing with them because it doesn't feel like they are trying to sell you anything, it's like they just enjoy talking about whatever you're purchasing. I will say it's not a huge location, they may not have exactly what you're looking for but I really do like going and walking around and seeing everything because I am personally just starting my figure collection so to me it's like candy land. I'm sure though if you stop by you will find at least one thing that you think is just too freaking cute that you cannot not buy. This place is soo cool. They have a few different locations, the one in Valley Fair is huge. It brings me back to my childhood days of playing with Yugi-Oh cards and Pokemon. You've been waiting patiently for assistance, and a group of people stroll in, and suddenly they're greeted with so much enthusiasm and help. It's frustrating when you're overlooked and the workers start being overly informative to other people. It's like they completely forget about you. I guess I'll just take my business elsewhere. Been to the shop a couple times now the past couple of weeks. Majority of the staff is nice and welcoming...except for one. Always has a bad attitude. They had Shining Charizard from Obsidian Flames priced at $36...I know $36 right? Looked at pricecharting for the last eBay sales and the guy tells me they go off of TCG for pricing. But he says it in a tone that was condescending. Well, prices are lower on there, goes to the guy in the back when I asked to price matched, came back at about half the price, but still had a shitty attitude. I went and called ahead to check if they had inventory of a TCG card and the person on the phone immediately answered with a heavy "SIGH" then replied "we gotta a bunch of cards on display so....I'm gonna say no." Word of advice: Make an effort to get up and at least try to look, your customers are coming from up and down the Bay Area and are trying to make it convenient for both parties to make transactions faster and accommodate to your store capacity. My new update on this store I gave it 2 to 1 star. I'm going to call them out and this is not a joke. I went to legends to give another chance but this time it pissed me off. So for yugioh there's lost art cards you spend 30 to receive a lost art Barrel Dragon, but instead of giving it to people they were selling it. Wtf is that shit. They said only in tournament you can get it free and that's Bull Shit. Especially if Covid-19 is happening l. They also weight the boxes so they end up getting the best cards from the boxes. Friendly staff, they seem to really care about helping you out, I've been here several times and have felt with 3 or 4 different people, they all have been very nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend this legends over others, the staff at other legends are not as helpful, the new one in the valley fair mall is probably just as good but their selection is much more limited then this ones. My only complaint is that they aren't running events there TCG selection for MTG is a bit narrow and focuses on money cards. read more

I used to frequent Legends pretty heavily before COVID hit and I don't think I've ever had any bad experiences here yet. The employees I've come across were always very friendly and made sure to ask customers if they needed any assistance. Even if I wasn't looking to buy anything in particular, it was still fun just to browse around the store and see what products they had in stock. Everything seemed to be organized quite well, unlike some other card shops I've been to around the area. The only issue I have with Legends is more of a personal one. I'm an avid Yu-Gi-Oh player and they don't really have as much of a selection of Yu-Gi-Oh products compared to Magic and Pokémon. Overall, I'm happy that a card shop like this exists so close to home. I hope that my friends and I can hit up the game room again once the pandemic clears up! read more

I had to take a moment and rate this store 5 stars. The owner Mel is awesome. I have recently decided to embrace my love for Star Wars and have decided to get into the Hot Toys/Sideshow collectibles. I brought a piece in and Mel was very honest in everything he told me, what to look for and how to watch for certain prices. His store does trading, buying and selling. I was able to sell my piece for store credit on 2 items that I've been eyeballing for weeks! I walked out so happy and that we both felt that we were getting a fair deal. Those who have put negative comments on rude staff and the staff talking to customers for way too long, I've come to the understanding that the staff there, are there FOR the customers. Yes they will spend time with a customer to make sure they were getting the best deal. This place is awesome and i recommend visiting. read more

I feel like I come here every week. I love chilling in the room with all the tables. It's always a nice place to hang out and play boardgames with friends! Here on weekends and theres always some sort of Magic the Gathering match that customers would come for to play, and I really think that's awesome. I'm a bit back in my yu-gi-oh phase and thankfully I have this place to turn to when I need to buy some packs at a location nearby. My experience with the store so far has been great, being able to exchange light banter while deciding what to purchase. I came one time right as they were closing the store and was able to finish up a purchase in a record time of 3 minutes, so I am pretty grateful for the awesome staff! The atmosphere is really light-hearted which makes it feel like a place I can come back to. The only thing that hurts would be the prices, a tad high but it's San Jose so like what do I even expect at this point lol. read more

This is a fun comic and game store. As of April 2018, they were still open so I'm not sure about earlier reviews that said they were closing. They have a cool selection of board games and even fun things like toys here. I saw a ton of Doctor Who merchandise to my delight. Let me start off by saying this store is very nice and organized. The 0 stars has nothing to do with the store but their employee Audrey. The past times that my family has came in to do any trading or buying she has been extremely rude and condescending. She brushes you off and gives 0 explation on why they aren't doing trading or buying at a certain time. I understand when theres only 2 assocaties at a time and you cant devote your time to one customer but atleast be sympathetic and apologize and say come back another day. Instead of saying no sorry we can't tonight and leave us hanging with no explanation. My family has been to this location many times for purchasing and for trading. We never have problems with the manager or other associates but just her. Such a shame because we really do like this store but she has made it impossible to do any more business here at this location. read more

This shop could be better with some better customer service and some organization. I am a father, so I was surprised to find that the wall they used to have stocked with comics geared toward younger audiences is no more. When I asked where I could find comics for kids, I was met with condescension from one of the staff, who all but told me I was on my own, saying something about hoping kids are smart enough (this nearly set me off). There was no offer to find what I was looking for, either. Ive been buying comics my whole life and as an adult, I know there are huge differences between whats for kids and whats not in comics. I have been to many shops that take great care in separating these and offering safe spaces for children, which I always appreciate. This staff member acted like such things shouldn't even exist. I won't be coming back here for the time being. Overall, this shop has way more space than the average comic store but could probably stand to use more of the floor space for other things. Tabletop gaming and old action figures take up half the store whereas comics are stuffed into a few small news stands and graphic novels stuffed into some shelving alphabetically. Many of the newer action figures are stuck behind glass or a counter, meaning you need one of maybe two available associates to see anything up close, item by item. This is something I was fine with, as its the closest store to my home, but with that last rude interaction about the kids comics, its worth the drive to a smaller, friendlier shop with better selection that's mindful of parents and kids. read more

Wanted to trade in some cards (valued at about $100 together via TCGPlayer), the guy helping me had curly hair, I think his name was Jacob. He said that they can only take it for $20 said something along the lines with: "we have too many of these in the display case, so I have to lower the value." I went to the Great Mall location and they offered me $60-70 FOR THE SAME CARDS I tried trading in to this location. I've been coming here to this location when it opened and loved the employees there. Now it's kind of gone downhill with the original team gone (and working at the other locations). I still like coming to this location this is the only LGS where I can pick up some stuff that I needed that I can't get online or at another. Please train your employee(s) better, it's kind of scummy that one location will take certain trade-ins way more than your other ones. read more
