    Legg Lake at sunset.

Beautiful serene location for hikes, walks, wprkouts, picnics or just sitting and absorbing nature. It was created in the late 50's in the Whittier Narrows recreation area. Easy parking. 2 mile walking loop arpund the lake that yields stunning sunsets if you time it right. Fishing is allowed: trout, crappie, bass. Workout stations sprinkled throughout the park. Dogs allowed but keep them leashed. Lots of ducjs, geese , coots and storks or egrets.

This park has ample parking. Parking was ok. We paid $7 to park. The walk towards the lake was okay, just beware of the fowl population and you'll understand. We were at this park for the Water Lantern Festival. The park is a decent size and I wish I had brought my dog with us but we were told that only service dogs were allowed. I'm fairly certain that people brought non-service dogs too. It's a public park. The facilities were alright. The restroom was stocked with toilet paper but the liners were completely gone. I wouldn't say it's the cleanest but it's also not the dirtiest restroom I've been privy to. I guess they only check the restrooms in the morning or something. We were only here around sunset until closing so we didn't get to see too much of the park. We definitely got our steps in while we were there.

This place is a nice spot to have a picnic and have your kids burn some of their energy running around. Legg Lake is off of 60fwy and Rosemead. My kids love coming here to feed the ducks and goose-they call this place (The Duck & Goose Land) some are even super friendly

    trash in the lake

This could be such a lovely place if it was cleaned. There is trash and scum floating on the lake.. YUCK!!! There is a Huge lake with many different birds, ducks and geese. The babies are hatching and do not have a clean lake to live in. Very sad. The 'grass' is nothing but weeds and they are overgrown and not mowed.. I am sure the city has enough workers and money to keep this park maintained. Where are the workers??? I did NOT see one single worker... I was there for several hours during the afternoon on a weekday? SHAME on The City!!!!

Variety of Ducks and Geese roaming around.

Plenty of parking to park at, with some dim lighting, but the park itself was very bright. There were a lot of people on Friday night with a few spots open so this place is very popular! Super huge with a ton of space. You can tell it's very well-kept and there are restrooms too. I think the parking gets charged when there's an event going on, other than that I don't remember paying any money to come here. Overall would love to come back here again!

Unfortunately, the grass looked overgrown, and the overall area did not feel especially clean or well cared for. I also brought my dog, but I did not find it particularly enjoyable or convenient for walking. I mostly noticed a few groups playing soccer, but not much else that made the park stand out. One interesting part was seeing people test and fly small remote-controlled aircraft. It was my first time seeing something like that, so I did enjoy watching it. Still, I am not sure that alone is enough to justify paying an entrance fee. This is only my honest experience, but I left wondering what makes this park worth the entrance fee compared with other public parks.

Everyone was so happy and welcoming. I recommend to get there earliest so you can get a good spot so you can overlook the water The music could have been a little bit louder because it was hard to hear But the live performers were awesome I wish there was more interactive activities. I feel like everyone was just sitting around, waiting to launch their lanterns, but it was still a beautiful experience. I will most definitely go again next year

Decorating our lanterns, enjoying the atmosphere, and watching the lanterns on the water together made for a great family memory. That part was awesome. But everything else? Not so much. Parking was excruciatingly bad. There were only about three people directing cars at the entrance, so it took forever just to get in and park. If you arrive early, you end up parking farthest away from the actual event and have a long walk. Getting out after the event was even worse. With basically one exit, traffic barely moved. We were stuck about an hour just to get out. RIDICULOUS. My advice: park outside the park if possible and walk in. The food situation wasn't much better. They had plenty of food trucks, but everything was overly expensive, the lines were long, and you're looking at around a 30-minute wait for food. Another tip: bring your own food and drinks. You'll save money and a lot of time. Overall, the lantern experience itself and the quality time with my family were memorable. I'm glad we experienced it together. But the parking situation, traffic control, expensive food, and long waits really brought the overall experience down.

When I lived on the outskirts of Cypress it was still right there next to me across the street. Now that I live in Whittier I've discovered this wonderful path that goes all the way from Baldwin Park at one end to the beach at the other. This path spans about 30 miles and it is both scenic, horrifying, and polarizing when it comes to how the conditions for the ride goes. When you go east towards the Santa Fe Dam the winds are with you and the riding isn't too difficult. But when you go west towards Long Beach the winds are hitting you in the face like palm strikes. It is a bit of a doozy but if you want that workout it is a great one. The surroundings can go from beautiful rivers that lead to the ocean to dry river banks filled with trash and homeless settlements. It can even have something in between where nature has taken back the area and lush fields of grass and trees occupy the space. It goes near highways and homes and really gives you a journey you never expected. I love finding new things every time I ride, from the houses that are built right next to it to the horse trails running parallel. If you want to stay socially distanced but still want to explore in a manner away from populated streets and spaces I highly recommend getting on a bike and going down this wonderful riverway.

Riding on the water bikes was really fun! We rode around the bay and the water was choppy sometimes but as you get inside the bay, the water is calmer. A trick is that if you feel the water is too choppy, start paddling - the water will calm down with the pedaling. There are several boats around which provided live music for us. The bike has two cup holders and a front container to put your phones and small stuff in. We had a great time. They share a parking lot with nearby restaurants which offer 3 hours of free parking.
