I've been coming to this gym since 2017, and I remember when it used to be open 24 hours, which was perfect for my schedule at the time. I had college in the morning and afternoon, worked until closing, and would come here right after work to get my workout in. The hours changed sometime after COVID, but I've continued coming here because I really like the location and how convenient it is for me. I've tried other gyms, including 24 Hour Fitness, LA Fitness, Gold's Gym, and Planet Fitness. Some were okay, but I keep coming back to UFC Gym because it's close to home and is open late on certain days, which works well with my schedule. Since I usually come later at night, I've never really had an issue with waiting for equipment. The cleanliness is decent overall, although I do wish members would be more considerate about cleaning up after themselves. It's frustrating seeing people throw or leave paper towels behind after wiping down equipment instead of putting them in the trash. The staff have always been friendly and helpful whenever I've needed anything. Overall, I've had a pretty good experience here over the years, and the convenience, late hours, and location are the main reasons I continue to come back. read more

Decent and affordable gym in the SGV, especially if you are interested in more than just the standard gym equipment or personal coaching. UFC Gym has a great variety of equipment, some of which you would not see at other gyms. In addition to standard cardio machines and weights, they have heavy bags, a turf area, a boxing cage, lifting platforms, and functional fitness equipment like ropes. They even offer recovery services like percussion massage, hydromassage beds, compression massage, and cryotherapy. I have yet to try these. On top of that, they have lots of classes including zumba, Brazilian jiu jitsu, high intensity interval training, kickboxing, boxing, mixed martial arts, yoga, cycling, and more. The class schedule is pretty consistent. However, I didn't have a great experience with taking their classes. If you are a newcomer to a class, the instructors do not provide any guidance to you whatsoever. All the newcomers are left confused on what to do in the class. I like that this gym does not get overcrowded, as they have great hours and flexibility. They are open almost 24/7, so this is a great option for early morning birds as well as late-night gym goers. Cleanliness seems to be pretty well maintained at this facility. I often see staff regularly cleaning. For guests, plenty of paper towels and disinfecting solutions are available to wipe down equipment. The smoothie bar near the entrance/exit is a nice touch to the place. They sell plenty of other things, like snacks, on top of protein shakes. read more

I've been coming to this gym for around 3 years now and it's the longest I've stuck to one single gym. Tons of equipment, lots of space for stretching, and a studio with more equipment and stationary bikes. The staff is, for the most part, friendly and helpful. The reason for only 3 stars is 1. A few equipment pieces are broken/not fully functioning and it takes a while for it be repaired and 2. Every summer, the A.C. seems to not fully function. It gets hot and humid inside the gym and you can see the thermostat showing 78 degrees for the temperature inside. That's pretty toasty when you have so many people moving around and exercising. The only spot I seem to feel any air is at the front where staff sit at their desks. The A.C. should definitely be looked at especially with the California heat during the summer. read more

It's been a long time since I've trained MMA... about 17 years. I just came back two weeks ago and ended up learning under Coach Fernando, and I'll be real, he's the kind of coach you don't come across often. He's a pro fighter himself, so he actually lives what he teaches. He's not just standing on the side calling things out, he's on the mat with us putting in rounds, sparring, wrestling, grappling... doing everything he expects from his team. That kind of presence is rare. You can see he truly cares about his fighters and everyone who trusts in him. It's more than just training with him, it's being part of something real. I'm grateful he's at UFC Rosemead because I honestly don't think I'd be this motivated without him. I'm a loyal gym member and I'm pretty UPSET that you've had the Mens Sauna shut down this past week. We pay good money to come to this UFC gym and we should be able to use all the amenities the gym has to offer. A gym employee told me the sauna is shut down for punishment because an individual did not follow proper rules and poured water on it. Let me get this straight, because of one person breaking the rules all gym members have to suffer the consequences? That's unethical and wrong. There's a lot of health benefits from using the sauna and this gym is depriving members (who pay good money) of this amenity because of power trip ego? I currently work at the UFC Gym in Torrance and I choose to drive all the way over to UFC Rosemead, twice a week, because of Fernando Vargas. There is so much to be said about Fernando, not only as a coach but as a man with incredible talent, leadership skills, and unmatched character. I have been training with him for MMA and every time I leave a session with him, I feel challenged, always finding new moments of growth, and protected in my learning/training environment! Fernando is someone who always makes you feel seen, safe, and that every session is tailored specifically to your needs. This review is well overdue, but I still stand by what I commented on the first time around. The arm bar has expanded their options and offers new flavor shakes and quick meals. Sam is a champion who makes solid shakes every time with a 100% success rate. Needless to say, girl doesn't miss. Gym equipment has been upgraded with new machines added. We now have 6 Olympic platforms for squatting and powerlifting to reduce wait queues. New glute focused machines for those looking to build that cake. Also, new cardio equipment like the battle bikes for conditioning have been added as well. Overall, it's a solid gym with a welcoming vibe. I haven't had many issues during my tenure at UFC Rosemead and the staff/members are solid folks who all aspire for the same goal. It really does feel like a second home when you come in. Haven't been to the gym for over 6-7 years and decided to give UFC a try since I hate PF, LA and 24 due to the cleanliness and crowd level. UFC has been great. They have their own parking lot so there are always ample amount of parking. A large variety of equipments, cardio machines and free standing weight machines. Rarely see machines broken for an extensive amount of time and everything is clean and spaced out nicely. There is a studio room, recovery room, sauna, and showers. All the staff is extremely friendly and they've always greet me upon checking in. Andrew helped sign me up for my membership. Super friendly, knowledgable and I love that UFC make you feel valued. Kinda like when you go to Starbucks and they remember your name and always say hi. I get that with Andrew everytime I come in so I appreciate that. Only reason I ranked 1 star down is due to communication. I've been trying to get in contact with someone to issue a refund for getting missed charged for the recovery plan. Every time I call, I'm being told something different, "manager isn't in, manager is helping someone, manager will call you back, manager should've gotten back to you, etc." Luckily I was told I'm going to get a refund so I'm just consistently trying to follow up and be patient since it's not the end of the world. UFC Gym is an expansive gym hidden in a quiet neighborhood immediately off a freeway off ramp. The gym has quite a reputation locally for being a more serious gym. Equipment: The facilities are very large (and unique). I will focus on specific areas that impact me directly. * Squat racks: There are 5 squat racks. 3 squat racks have Olympic platforms with bumper plates. 1 is a "cage" style rack. The cage rack has an adjustable bench that it shares with the Smith machine next to it. The squat racks were busy but not impossible to find a turn on a Saturday afternoon. * Cable Station: There are 4 cable stations. The extension selection is only average, though. * Bench Press: I didn't count the number but there were a lot of bench presses and plenty of open bench press stations. * Free Weight Bench: One thing that annoys me about this gym is that the free weight benches tend to be higher than average. I am 5'4" and my feet barely touch the ground laying flat on a bench. My impression of the equipment in this gym is that it tends to be older. Amenities: * Sauna * Cafe Parking: UFC gym has a spacious, devoted parking lot. Should be no issue finding parking here. Other: UFC gym is across the street from a large plaza with a Target, Chipotle, Jersey Mikes, etc. But you will have to drive to get there because it is a 4(?) lane road. Verdict: My biggest pet peeves with UFC are the height of its free weight benches. If they were standard height, I would frequent this gym more often. Nonetheless, UFC gym stands out for its 5 squat racks, calisthenics equipment, and large areas devoted to mixed martial arts. read more

I've been coming to UFC Gym Rosemead for a while, and I have to give major credit where it's due this place has gotten way cleaner lately, and it's because of one employee: Mickey. Ever since they hired him, you can literally see the difference, he cleans things that normally don't get touched at all like the walk way to the men's locker room. The men's sauna used to look a little rough, but now? It looks like it got hit with industrial power tools or some professional deep-cleaning crew... except it was just Mickey in there scrubbing like his life depended on it. The guy goes above and beyond. Floors, equipment, sauna everything feels fresher and better maintained. It's honestly rare to see someone take that much pride in keeping a gym clean, and it makes the whole experience better for everyone. But Usually I have a great Experience with everyone who works there like Sam, Soular, and Diego at the Juice bar. David and Destiny at the Font Desk. I could talk about how I've lost weight (25 lbs or so depending on the day), how I've become more fit, how I'm developing skills in striking and grappling... but that's all to be expected, right? I have to break my review into two parts: Overall gym experience (not including sales): 5-star Sales / member service (regarding plan membership and pricing): 1-star I'll start off with the sales and member services, which I rate differently than my day-to-day experience. I'll also explain some of the practices that seem to be consistently frustrating. Most recently, I needed to downgrade my membership level. After talking with a sales associate, I was told that only a supervisor could downgrade a membership. "Hey, do you know how to downgrade a membership?" He nodded and came over to help. Once the adjustments had been made, the first associate said "ok, sign here" and handed me the mouse to sign on the screen (which by my best efforts could do with less grace than a kindergartner - I mean who signs their name with a mouse?). I stopped him and told him to hold on, and explain what I'd be paying ? (I knew to ask because the first time I signed up the process was the same, even though the sales associate was an entirely different person.) Long story short, he quoted me a price that was 50% higher than what my wife currently pays for the exact same membership level. I just wish the sales support was a little less sharky. In another situation, I witnessed one of the sales associates (a monster of a guy, built like a truck) push a guy out that was persistently inquiring about a refund that he never received. I don't think it's right to treat people that way, even if they are annoying. It's just another example of the sales culture there. If I didn't have to deal with that, I'd love the place. read more

Now that Covid has subsided a tat, it's been great to have a gym that is open 24/7 Mon- Fri, and Sat- Sun 6-8pm. They have great classes, and the staff are more than equipped to assist you on any of your needs. Shout to Assistant Fitness Director Jesus Flores for always having a caring and kind attitude. He welcomes folks with open arms and meets clients where they're at. He has helped me in a lot of my recovery and always giving me advice. They recently opened their recovery center and it's really changed the way I train and take care of my body. They have state of the art equipment from Normatec. With machinery ranging from cryotherapy, compression therapy, and hydro massage. Please make sure to book your appointment ahead of time or ask the front desk associates for assistance. If you need something more specific to your recovery needs book an appointment with Jesus. His sessions include cupping, scraping, and trigger point therapy of depending on the client's needs.
