Well, look no further. This no-frills steakhouse specializes in dry aged beef, is James Beard award winning, has great cocktails, and still serves you a relish tray while you wait for your meal. For those of you under the age of 35, a relish tray, often consisted of carrots, celery, pickles, and cubed cheddar cheese like this one. They also will bring you some bread and butter if you would like. In my opinion, you should definitely opt for the tenderloin, but I'm not sure there is a bad steak option on the menu. They also have seafood and even sandwich sandwiches including a burger so there's something for everyone! It's family friendly and although the decor will remind you of your grandma's house, no grandparent I have ever met could put out steaks like this. Visit the ice cream capital of the world and make sure to save room for a steak!

When we arrived, we did have roughly a 15 minute wait without a reservation on a busy Saturday night. We were offered the opportunity to get a drink from the bar. As we waited, the hosted recognized incoming customers by name. After being seated by the kind hostess, we decided to order the triple platter appetizer ($15.99). We went with two orders of homemade onion rings and the cheese nuggets. Be sure to come with an appetite. The onion rings were phenomenal! Light and crispy breading with ranch and chipotle sauce to dip. Highly recommend that combo. We were then awarded our salads which held us over until the main attraction came out. There she was in all her red juicy glory ($38.99-Goody size). The crust was heavily seasoned, and the au jus was flavorful. The fat immediately disintegrated into oblivion, which is what I want from an amazing prime rib. I ordered a loaded baked potato, and my buddy got the mashed potatoes with country gravy (equally tasty). A side of corn and a dinner roll (soft and warm) also accompanied the side of choice. I ordered my cut medium rare, which was perfect. If you end up leaving hungry from this great establishment, you are the one to blame. We cannot recommend this place enough. We plan to stop again in the near future. We saw some regulars order the broasted chicken, and it looked incredible. Before leaving, the hostess came over and asked how the meal was. This just added a little something extra to the small town feel. Congratulations Battle Creek on a hidden gem!

Did someone say good steak? :-) We were caught off guard…read morewith the decor of the restaurant but it is very unique and impressive in a vintage way. We were referred this location from a friend (shout out to Casey) and he provided a heads up about the old fashioned decor and possible long wait time...but when someone says, "good steak!" I am there The service provided by Sandy and Trace felt personal and genuinely friendly. We were fortunate that there were only a few other customers in the restaurant at the time as I could see how they get busy and wait time for the meal could be long but if you like good food and are not in a hurry I urge you to check this location out. Our meat was prepared as requested and was juicy and tender. I requested my baked potato to be prepared a certain way and while they said they would do their best they didn't make any promises. The potato was cooked almost perfectly to my specifications. Overall the meal was very good and I enjoyed the experience. Some added bonuses- they had some great salad dressings and the pina colada is wonderful. Apparently the drink is a specialty of Trace. Also we added some of the white garlic salad dressing onto the potato and it was indeed the bee's knees.
