Not only did they allow one daughter to work on a Lego that was being built for the store but they also helped the other daughter source bricks, and gave her ideas, for her own creation of a restaurant she's working on. We talked about going back to Lego store to buy some sets, but also because of the Pick-a-brick wall. A lot of people showed up because they're promoting their cars! It was organized chaos. There was a small line to get in the store because unfortunately, there are only so many people that can be in a store safely, so I understood that. I found everything that I was looking for plus more! We were there for at least two hours. It was fun to watch all the little kids. One of the employees and my grandson were roaring at each other. Apparently my grandson outroared him, because he gave him a gold trophy to put in his box. Corey is a great asset to the company! We first became acquainted with Cory when he was watching me and my daughter strategically filling a pick-a-brick box to maximize how much we could fit. Then instead of being impatient when my phone kept saying that I wasn't me for Apple Pay, he just laughed right along with us until it finally decided to acknowledge that I really was me. He was patient, and was willing to keep my husband's growing pile on the counter instead of having him carry it around. My favorite part was when my husband was ready to check out with his purchase, and Corey walked up and said, "wait, where did the cat come from?" My daughter had chosen it, but it wasn't there last time he saw the pile, but the pile just kept getting bigger and bigger. We will definitely be going back. Went in for Lego Movie figurines and came out with very mixed reviews. The place was slammed but I won't blame them for being awesome (EVERYTHING IS AWESOME). What I can blame them for is lying to my face about their licensing contract. Let me explain: I was told I cannot buy any individual figurines (not Batman, not Bennie...not even Emmet!) because they have sold all their licensing rights to sell individual "action figures" and are now only allowed to sell "Lego sets." The conclusion being that instead of a $5 figurine, I was relegated to buying a $49.99 set or nothing at all. Feed that bologna to a non-law-student (or anyone with a brain). The only cool part (and reason they get both stars) is that they have this mystery bin, for lack of a better term, where they have all the Lego Movie figurines in opaque little bags and for $2.99 you can buy one and hope you get Good Cop Bad Cop instead of an anonymous construction worker. So there I was, a 24-year-old woman among an army of toddlers trying to grope each little bag for a pair of miniature handcuffs... read more

This store is mostly awesome because of their employees. We went to return a gift and could only get a gift card (instead of cash) after my SO argued about it for a while the wonderful employee just tried to explain why corporate set up things like this with a genuine smile. After this I got distracted looking at their build a figurine section which was super fun. We ended up spending 20 minutes to build each other. Then found super cool keychains. All in all whether you're a fan or not you can find cool things in this store. Tyler is a cool employee and truly enthusiastic about the product and his role in this store. We were finally at the mall during the week and it wasn't quite so bad, so my daughter and I went to check it out. The wall of pieces was pretty cool. The "build your own pack of Lego people" station was neat. We looked at most of the scenes. And I really enjoyed seeing the architectural series. We took our little godson/nephew into the store today. He's 3 years old. We had just had a terrible experience at Build A Bear. They were rude and scolded our little one so we left. The LEGO store was so much fun and child friendly. Our little one selected a Marvel Iron Man Super Hero. Then he wanted to pay so he could go home and build! The employee that rang us up was very friendly and we thanked him. Also told him thank you for being nice to our baby because they weren't at Build A Bear. He was so shocked that anyone would scold a child and not give them something alternate to do. I agreed. We will definitely shop at this store again. Our baby is obsessed with Legos! "Hi! Welcome to the Lego Store. Who's the lucky kid that's getting some Legos?" "Um, that would be me." Legos are one of my recent obsessions, thanks to a birthday gift I received this year. So, when I needed to make a pilgrimage to the Apple store in Barton Creek mall (because the location in the Domain didn't have what I was looking for), I squeed to myself when I saw how close in proximity those two stores are. The store is organized by product line, so I immediately headed to the Star Wars section, drooling over the uber expensive Death Star. Maybe I could get friends to pitch in for it and we can all share custody! Anyone? Anyway, obviously this store is all things Lego, there's even little bubbles of different colored Legos on the back wall, which you can buy in bulk if you lose pieces (like I'm sure I'm apt to do). The employees are attentive and friendly, without being overbearing. I wanted to buy the Seattle Space Needle set, but I couldn't find one among all the other cool architecture stuff. There is no more important event in his genius mind than the opening of the Lego store right down the street. Christmas mornings, birthdays, and the Easter Bunny pale in comparison. With a cool swagger he walks in, the store already a buzz with giddy children hardly able to contain themselves. Amateurs. If this eleven year old is nervous about being the first customer ever at this store he doesn't show it. Figures. He surveys his surroundings, sizes up the competition and browses the new boxed sets as if he is looking for some rare find. With his purchase in hand he checks out and cements his place in Lego history, adding to his legend. When the manager tells him he is the first customer at the new store he calmly pulls his Lego VIP card out of his pocket in his short pants to pay for his purchase with earned points. The manager asks if he can take his picture with him, we oblige. As he walks out of the store swinging his yellow bag in his hand past the line of people 15 deep, he states " I told you they should build a store here, almost everyone I know plays with Legos" I didn't teach him to be that cool, that's just how he rolls. read more

In the interest of full disclosure, I used to work at the LEGO store from 2011-2012. Obviously, I haven't worked there in over three years, so even though my review might be a little biased, almost none of my original coworkers are still there, so it's pretty much a brand new experience each time I go. And I go probably more frequently than you would think because I am a serious fan of LEGO. Whether buying something for myself or as a gift, this is my one stop shop. Yes, you can buy LEGO in other stores, but let me tell you why you should buy from here: 1) The people who work here are seriously enthusiastic about the product. You have a question? We have an answer, probably because we've personally played with the set ourselves. Working here is every bit of fun that you might think it is and, at least when I worked there, we all loved the sets and had our own personal collection of LEGO as well as a wide breadth of knowledge. I don't imagine that's changed in the three years I've been gone. 2) The VIP card! For every dollar spent at the LEGO store or online, you get a point. After $100, or 100 points, you get $5 off your next purchase! I've been a member for years and it's great. I usually have $5 off when I go in, which basically just tells you that I spend a lot of money in the store. 3) It's a store full of LEGO. Why would you not come here? They almost always have what I'm looking for and, if not, they can order it for me online. I love so many of the sets, but I especially love the keychains and the mystery minifigures. Oh, gawd, the mystery minifigures. I have a whole collection of them. Fun fact! When I worked here, I had 100% accuracy at guessing which minifigure was in each bag. Customers would come in just to have me pick out the minifigures they wanted. It was pretty awesome. Since it's Christmas time, they also have a variety of LEGO ornaments and Christmas themed sets. I actually really like their Christmas themed sets - they are very pretty and I really like the detail that goes into them. Speaking of detail, I love the level of detail that goes into every LEGO set. It really is amazing to see all the little things they think to include once you start putting something together. Don't want a set? No problem! There's a little area where you can make your own minifigures and they have the pick-a-brick wall, where you can fill a cup with bricks you've selected yourself. Both areas are regularly changing and getting new pieces, so check them out each time you visit to see the new stuff you can't wait to add to your collection. Lastly, as a personal pet peeve of mine, it is LEGO. Always capitalized, never pluralized. The more you know! read more

As I'm looking over the Star Wars Echo Base set, one of the staff excitingly points out, "Isn't that kit awesome?!? You get Han Solo on a tauntaun. A tauntaun!" I grinned and replied, "That's precisely why I'm getting it." "And you can stick a guy inside the laser tower! Hey, did you see the set with the wampa?!?" "Yes, yes we did." "Awesome!" and he scoots off to help some other folks. We run into him a bit later, showing some kids the Toy Story 3 Pizza Planet Truck Rescue kit. "You can open the hood and load pizzas into the engine. Then, you can shoot pizzas out the front!" My hat's off to you, Mr. Enthusiastic Lego Store Clerk. I dare say I'm a bit envious of your job, showing kids all the cool Lego sets and having a good time while doing it. The other awesome thing at the Lego store is the Digital Box. It's a real-time video screen and just by holding up a Lego box, it will show you a 3D model of what the finished kit will look like. You can tilt it and move it around the screen to see all the different angles. It's pretty amazing. I remember building with lego as a kid. I had a big bucket of the bricks and, on weekend afternoons, I'd dump them on the floor in the living room and proceed to build houses, forts, helicopters, etc. I think around the time I was 10, Lego came out with the pneumatic toys. Those were also really cool, but my lego days were coming to a close by then. Anyway, 20 years later I walk in to the Lego Store and I want to know something: When the hell did Lego get so damn awesome? Replicas of Frank Lloyd Wright's "Falling Water"? A HUGE ROBOT that WORKS and does all sorts of different COOL stuff? All kinds of Star Wars themed kits and freaking Taj Mahal replica??!! Man, I'm glad this place wasn't around when I was a kid because 1) my parents would've never sustained the $300 a week hits I needed to quell my "lego habit" and 2) my head would've probably exploded at least once or twice from all the cool stuff inside. read more

Holy wow, this is a great store for both kids and adult fans of Lego. Pretty much every Lego theme line is represented in here. It's been a long time since I built a Lego kit and it seems in recent years Lego has started creating cool kits aimed at non-kids (often with a non-kid pricetag) Much of this store is devoted to these advanced models and hard to find rarities like the $300 Taj Mahal kit. I just picked up Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater from the new Architectural line that has things like the Guggenheim and the Seattle Space Needle. The whole back wall of the store is a bulk brick section, where you can buy common parts by filling up a bucket with whatever you might want. The staff was friendly and genuinely enthusiastic, even as a couple dozen 3-footers scramble excitedly around. I fear I'm going to spend way too much money here... read more

Back in the day we just had plain Legos, and you had to dream up something to build. Now they have huge, expensive sets of just about everything you can imagine, though I always get stuck at Star Wars. Still there's something about Legos no kid can resist, and this store shows them off well, with lots of places to play around with the pieces and make stuff. Nothing is cheap, but Legos never have been. We had to drag our kid out of there, and I'm sure we'll have to do it every time we go. A nifty store. The only downside to the store...... it's in the mall. I love that they have a wall of extra pieces and a station to make your own figures. You don't have to pretend to be a grown up at the Lego store. I was as happy as a 10 year old to get a few of the surprise Simpsons in a mystery packaging tonight. I wish they still had the Lego movie characters, now you have to buy the sets with backgrounds. No military discounts but they do have a Lego club, the more you buy, the more points you get for I don't even know what. I guess credit to buy more Legos most likely. Got the cutest yoda keychain here, the guy that checked me out was super nice, he asked if i was a star wars fan and i said yes,he then told me about lego's yoda chronicles and gave me a copy out of a lego catalog which i thought was very nice.
