Funny sequence of letters I saw. Given how bad the service is here, I'd suggest a word starting with the letter 'S' and ending in 'T'.
    Michael B.

Easily the worst Michaels I've been to. Disorganized shelving and one of the poorest customer experiences I've had at this chain, which is saying something. Ended up spending close to fifteen minutes in line... Doesn't sound like much...unless there's literally just *one* person ahead of you in line, there's a single cashier, and a store employee looking on who can't be bothered to open up a register. Seriously, he just stood around as he saw me give a little wave to see if they could open up a register since the person ahead of me has a mountain of merchandise that's literally falling out of their cart. He sees the wave, ignores it. Then he wanders outside, wanders back inside, sees me still waiting, wanders behind the counter to take a phone call, then shuffles off into the store. Then he comes back a few minutes later, sees me STILL waiting, then decides to meander behind a register and reluctantly open it up. Wow. Thanks, guy. You win the award for the laziest, most lackluster employee I've yet seen in the entire Austin area. Seriously, Michaels - is this the best you can do?

Items the manager, Sara, help me find!
    Sarah H.

I came in the other evening with about 25 minutes till closing, I made a shopping list ahead of time on the website with all the aisle numbers & I only needed about 7 items. I get there & my service sucks inside the building, that's okay connect to Michael's guest wifi -- it took about 5-7 minutes to even get connected. Next the website SUCKS (not the stores fault) but there's no place to access your shopping list & the stupid website kept changing "my store" to a location I was nowhere near! At this point I am so stressed out there's 15 minutes till closing, this was for a school project that was for my six year old & at this point I'm almost in tears because of frustration. I come across the manager, Sara, who is doing an awesome job with her closing duties & I probably bugged the sh*t out of her but she was so nice & helped me find every individual item by literally walking me through the store to find them. She told me she understood my situation because she has a kiddo and she didn't make me feel like or act like I was totally annoying her; and I'm sure I totally was because it was almost closing, thankfully I got everything I needed. Sara deserves a raise or way more than what I'm sure big corporate Michael's is giving her. Thank you so much SARA!

I had to go out of my way to get here because I needed something specific. Only to find out that their card readers don't work.

The guys at the store were so nice and understanding and let us find relief from the humid heat. Shout out to them! BTW, nice, modern and clean card store! Don't know anything about card prices, but would recommend this place! Hospitality means a lot.

This place has sadly gone downhill. Went to Lucky 7 today with my boys today (13 and 10) at their…read morerequest. My 10 year old (literally the happiest, most positive human) wanted to sell some of his Pokémon cards that he researched recently went up in price. When we approached a younger gentleman at the counter he told us that they don't buy cards on the weekends but asked an older gentleman next to him (dark hair, buzz cut) if he would at least look at them. My son was excited and grinning ear to ear! As the man approached us with what can only be described as a RBF, he just told my son how his cases were all wrong and why did he have them in these cases? My son's face went from elated to practically melting. He is literally 10 years old!!!!! As he continued to insult him, I asked the man multiple times what cases they SHOULD be in....it took me asking three times to get any sort of answer. They even sold those cases behind the counter but he didn't even offer for us to buy them and frankly, by that point they weren't getting any of my money. He gruffly left even though he said they would be interested in buying the cards. Tonight, my son sold one of those cards online for $120 (he paid $30 initially). I am so happy that he didn't let the experience at Lucky 7 dampen his moment. I am sure he will successfully sell the other cards online as well. When we first started going to Lucky 7 we loved that it was a local, family-owned business- that is how we like to spend our money and show up in our community. But sadly, we won't be doing that with this business anymore. Every time we have gone to this store there are a ton of kids, but sadly they do not know how to treat them - or frankly, anyone. If you are a parent whose kids love Pokémon and sports cards just consider this before taking your children to this place. Over lunch I talked to my boys about the way we communicate with people and how it is not always what you say, but how you say it. His cases may have been wrong, but tell him what is right instead of admonishing him publicly and give him the solution. My sons will be better for this lesson and perhaps the owners can teach their grown male employees the same lesson but we certainly will not be around to see it.

Hard to not feel like I was fleeced out of about $100 here, intentionally or not…read more First time visitor - went in on a Saturday and asked what percentage they pay for trade-in values for store credit. The woman at the counter told me 80% which was perfect for what I wanted. The following Monday I brought in 10 high value MTG cards - almost entirely secret lair that I've collected over the last few years. I was offered much lower than I expected but I understand card values change and I was told previously that they bought at 80% so I assumed that was what they were offering. It's on me for not double checking but I trusted them based on what I was told before. It still felt off by the time I got home so I double checked and did some math and it didn't add up. Called the next day to confirm the trade in percentage - this time I was asked if it was Pokemon, MTG or Sports card. That's when I was told it was actually 65% for MTG. If I had known that I would have kept my cards. Multiple people expressed interest in my cards while I was still in the store so I know these will move fast. I really wish whoever I spoke with on the first day had clarified what kind of cards I was bringing in. If I had known I wouldn't have sold them in the first place and found an alternative. I received a reply on my google reviews that this was a miscommunication on their part and I think the store should make it right based on their mistake.

Major issues I've encountered over the course of a year: * Invalidated Sign-ups: I signed up for a Union Arena demo event through the official Bandai app. Despite having a confirmed spot, the store told us upon arrival that it was "first come, first serve." This completely defeats the purpose of official registration and wastes players' time and money. * Lack of Transparency: When asked why they aren't using Bandai, I was told they "can't control who attends" if they use it. Meanwhile, regulars at the store mentioned they received personal phone calls from the shop to sign up before the general public could. * Gatekeeping Promos: During a Lorcana event, staff attempted to withhold promos, stating they were only for "league members" rather than distributing them to event participants as intended This store clearly prioritizes a small circle of "regulars" over following official tournament rules or respecting the time of new players. If you aren't part of their "inner circle," don't bother signing up through official channels they likely won't honor it.
