Dr Wright (Physician Assistant) was super creepy and impersonal. Made some odd comments and very condescending.

Marty T. The phone number you gave me for patient feedback is not in service. Way to look like you care but in reality you don't.

I woke up the next day (18 hours later and no pain meds since I left around 730 pm) and my whole leg and foot were completely numb- so I went back around 730 am. She came in (I was in so much pain and in tears). She asked questions and pretty much instantly started moving and manipulating my leg. While I cried. She then proceeded to say " I'm just tying to figure out why this is hurting you so bad. I tore my ACL 6 weeks ago and had surgery a week ago. It didn't hurt this bad at all." While I'm just crying. As she is checking " no bruising no swelling". Asked if I drove myself. I said yes. Her response " aw poor thing" she then said "whatever's going on- you're not going to need surgery" fast forward to today. My entire leg is covered in bruises and is so swollen. Orthopedic doctor said it's probably my ACL or maybe a torn tendon or broken bone on the left. I've never felt so dismissed and mistreated.

I took off a star because I didn't like the check in process or the questions asked that I was told I had to answer. It felt like an invasion of my privacy. First I shouldn't have to disclose either my SS or my religion for a simple yearly breast exam, but the young lady at the counter told me I wouldn't get my bracelet or access unless I answered them. I had my young daughter with me and I wasn't about to start a fight in front of her but when I explained that those items shouldn't be necessary to get my exam she said it's hospital policy. I didn't want to reschedule or go somewhere else but I was pretty upset. Also they require you to wear a medical bracelet as if you are being admitted for a hospital stay which is a bit crazy as the beast center is on the 1st floor just behind reception! Also, on his particular day the lights needed to be replaced so there were men working in the breast center area while I was being examined. While they didn't see me half naked they were there as I walked thru and I'll tell you this... the "gown" is a midriff weird shaped thing and not good for bigger gals as it doesn't cover your waist really. Personally I've had way better experiences elsewhere.

I had been…read moreplanning on a home birth until experiencing high blood pressure that I couldn't get under control in the last weeks of pregnancy. Common Spirit Holy Cross is not far from home and in network, plus I saw they had birth suites with shower and tub and I wanted a water birth. Unfortunately due to the high blood pressure there was a chance I'd be put on a magnesium drip, which could make me feel nauseous and lightheaded and getting in and out of the the tub was too risky so I was confined to the bed and room. While I was here I interacted with at least a dozen if not more members on staff from doctors to nurses to certified nurse midwives to lactation consultants and dietary staff. Right off the bat I felt super comfortable. I was already nervous about having to be induced, but felt I was in a positive environment where the employees cared about their patients and their experience. Having an unmedicated birth was important to me as well as rejecting certain procedures and treatments for myself and baby. I never felt guilt tripped or forced into anything I didn't want to do for the most part (there were a few negative interactions with one person specifically). I was just met with questions for understanding my choices and provided with additional info and allowed to make my decision. With respect to those negative interactions I felt like most of the Holy Cross team advocated for me against this person to ensure I had the best possible labor and delivery experience, WHICH I DID. It was all hands on deck, and I had a beautiful unmedicated delivery. Now on to the negatives...this one person, instead of introducing herself with the same bedside manner like everyone else to make me feel comfortable and understand what was going on without making me worry, she came in guns blazing and seemed adamant about wanting to put me on the magnesium drip right after telling me how much it would suck, so much so that I would ask for the epidural. Also, she dropped this on me while I was in the middle of a blood pressure reading, which is only going to keep my blood pressure even more elevated to justify her desire to put me on the drip... the rest of the team decided I could attempt to labor unmedicated without the drip and low and behold, my beautiful baby girl was born five hours later. Also a couple of staff kept trying to say that Pitocin is the same thing as oxytocin, which it's not! Oxytocin is a natural labor hormone. Pitocin is synthetic. Oxytocin builds naturally as labor progresses, when your body and baby are ready. Pitocin can just be turned up regardless if your body and baby are ready. Oxytocin releases endorphins to reduce pain. Pitocin does not cross the blood-brain barrier and so you feel pain more. The only way they're the same is that they cause uterine contractions. Overall, I was impressed with the facility, with the staff, and with the quality of care and follow up during rounds. I felt encouraged and despite not getting the home birth I wanted, it turned out as great as it could be! I did have to go back a few days after discharge, to the ER, due to BP and it was another pleasant experience.

This is specifically for Rheumatology and Endocrinology-…read more I've debated for months on sharing this- We started with Dr. Karen James, Rheumatology. We were brought back and about 10 mins into the appointment she was pulled out, which no worries, we can be patient but they told us "thanks for being patient or else it probably would have meant you needed to wait longer anyways" she was out for about 10 mins during our appointment yet we had to wait for her, pay a specialist fee with our insurance and they made it seem like we were an inconvenience . This was a specialist appointment that we were spending a significant amount of money on. She listed and reviewed labs but seemed like she was not taking us seriously and was highly distracted. She didn't take my daughter seriously despite a significant family history and lab proof and pushed us off to a different specialty. We were referred to endocrinology with Dr. Alexander Karmazin. We went in hopeful and quickly realized it was futile. He came in- told us one lab result doesn't justify a diagnosis. (Clearly he didn't review the years of labs and medical documentation on file) I pointed this out and he took a step back and let me explain my child's current issues. He asked me about my history. Here's recognized the labs supported significant issues but said it wasn't his department so he could only provide a referral. Here's the kicker- IM CAPITALIZING BECAUSE I NEED OTHER WOMEN TO SEE THIS. HE ASKED ME ANOUT MY PERSONAL HISTORY WHICH I DETAILED, AS IT WAS RELEVANT AND HE PROCEEDED TO TELL ME "WELL YOU DONT LOOK LIKE YOU HAVE (specific diagnosis)". Completely shocked I listed my history with extensive diagnostic history and he doubled down telling me I was wrong and don't look like I have that specific diagnosis and it's probably not active anymore. As someone who has dealt with a chronic illness, I was completely shocked and my diagnosis was not relevant and not in the scope of his specialization. After calling patient support, it turns out they are contracted through U of U and their team handles issues. The rep and I played phone tag for a few calls and after I called back a few times I never heard back to lodge a complaint or get this addressed. If you have kiddos referred here, maybe ask for another clinic. I'm so disappointed with the care we have received, my daughter has not been believed, my health was judged BY A PEDIATRIC SPECIALIST and no follow up to rectify the issue. Be careful taking your kids to the specialist group here

The ER is very clean. It's about a year old. It's your typical hours long wait time after you get triaged to get a room. Everyone we've encountered has been really friendly and good with my daughter. They' all have offered us a snack or drink. X-rays went well and the exam room was decorated cute and clean. Underwater themed. The technician was friendly and gentle with my daughter. The only thing I didn't appreciate is the Covid tested my daughter without asking and that has never happened to us before usually it's asked first. Plenty of parking.

I don't know anybody here that could give me a referral or recommendation. Holy Smokes did I hit the jackpot! Dr. Borchardt really knows his medicine! But not only was I impressed with his knowledge, but he talks to you on your level. And he LISTENS to his patients! I went to Mountain Point Hospital for the only way I could describe as a heart flutter or skipping, shortness of breath and a little light headed at times. He asked me questions that no other Doctor had ever bothered asking me. He listened well and took notes. Without going into all the specifics, Dr. Borchardt ran a plethora of thorough tests including a Stress-Echo. After I mentioned to him that I had been observed as having Sleep Apnea, it was like a puzzle coming together for me even tho Dr. Borchardt had figured everything out. This is a guy I would like to have not only as my Cardiologist but as my friend! So if anybody in Utah needs a good Cardiologist, this man is worth the trip! If you've been putting off going to the Doctor with any symptoms like shortness of breath, uncomfortable feeling in your chest, being light headed... go see Dr. Borchardt!! The sooner the better! I can't thank Dr. Borchardt enough! Well educated, smart, listens and communicates well... yet very down to earth and humble. Other physicians take note...
