As a result, the chimney's exterior brick surface began cracking and pieces of brick were falling to the ground. We needed a new liner immediately. After speaking with Phil Ciminera, we hired Lehigh Valley Chimney Specialists to install a stainless steel liner and rain cap, with a lifetime warranty. Scaffolding was built at no charge in order to protect our slate roof tiles. A wire cage mesh was built around the damaged brick chimney and a coat of cement was placed on the cage. The next day, an appealing finish of white Stucco was applied. The complete job was done in two days. I called Lehigh valley chimney for a fireplace cleaning and they were able to schedule in less than a week. They arrived on time and were very thorough with the cleaning and inspection. Anthony cover my carpets with a drop cloth and was a pleasure to work with. I signed up for their membership program for discounts on future cleaning. Overall great company! read more

I wanted to jump in because I was so surprised to see the negative reviews on here. Yelp seems to be a place to vent and I am guessing that is what their low rating is about, because per Home Advisor, over 100 reviews run contrary to the handful on yelp. Lehigh Valley chimney has been friendly and responsive in all my dealings with them, from Mary in the office through to Phil and Vinny at job sites. Phil first came out when I bought my home to discuss options on how to renovate our fireplace after another local outfit did a poor job. Phil gave a wide range of price commitment options. Ultimately we went with a wood insert from Osburn, whom Lehigh Valley Chimney is a dealer of, as well as other premium brands. Pricing was excellent, straight from the manufacturer plus a fair install cost. They were on time and had in installed quickly and cleanly. This year I have had Vinny come out for a sweep, also done in timely and professional manner. The only thing that held me back from a full 5 was a slight miscommunication on price for the sweep, but ultimately it was only $10 more than was quoted on the phone and still a fair price. read more

Charged $400 to vacuum for 30mins. They didn't know anything about our pellet stove. Upon completion, I still had to vacuum the blower motor, replace the door and glass gaskets. Then I found out the burn pot gasket was supposed to be replaced during the annual service and they didn't do that either. I feel like they took advantage of us because we were new homeowners and had no knowledge of what should be done. We just wanted to make sure our home was safe before winter. On positive note, I learned a lot about servicing it myself. I don't recommend these folks. read more

I like using local businesses. But I have my limits. I've used LV Chimney before; they replaced my hearthstone. I wasn't jazzed with the "service". Everyone, including the owner, made you feel like they were too busy to bother with you. The attitude that YOU are doing ME a "favor" and that you haven't been HIRED by ME to do a JOB... not into it. At. All. A few months later (now) I want to add a mantel. So I call the main number yesterday morning to schedule an estimate; it rolls over to the owners number. He brusquely tells me he's not in the office and that someone from the office will get back to me. Before I can finish asking if he has my number, he hung up on me. That "favor" attitude I mentioned above? Still there. That "too busy" tone? Same. And NO ONE called me back. I called back again today, against my better judgement. I got the office, but after and almost 10 minute "brief hold", I'm offered an appointment over 3 weeks from now. I quickly weighed the pro and cons of working with LV chimney again and decided not to. I passed on the appointment. Small companies need to learn, without our business they will cease to exist. Attitude, good or bad, can go a LONG way - make sure it goes in the right direction, eh? read more

Lehigh Valley chimney came twice - to be fair the first time it was raining so they couldn't do much - I had been very specific with the people on the phone that this was a tough job with a very old chimney that needed to be breached. The second time they came (after canceling once and trying to cancel a second time) the tech couldn't do much without calling the boss every 15 minutes. I had to leave to take care of another building (this is a rental) and specifically asked the tech not to leave without speaking to me - or at least calling me to give me the price before the go ahead. When I returned the tech had left without a phone call - turns out the company emailed me an estimate (I am on the road and had let them know not to email me but to call or text with price). I was so annoyed I called the chimney service that had done the attached chimney -who had discovered the issue. His price $500 to breech the wall, clear the blockage and patch it. I see a ton of negative reviews for LV chimney but I honestly didn't have an issue at all, work was delayed many times and that's the only real reason for 3 stars, staff was kind, new chimney looks great, workmanship is warranted for 10 years so time will tell. If I could give zero stars... I did not use any of their services, primarily because your intake service person is absolutely the WORST! Totally clueless, unhelpful, and generally air headed. You need someone in this position who knows what she's talking about and can engage with potential customers. Asking whether a service is something you can perform and being met with a "No" without further information and guidance makes it look like your business doesn't know what it's doing. read more

I would give them no stars if that was an option. I needed a new crown on my chimney and in the fall of 2020, I interviewed multiple companies. I selected and signed a contract with the Lehigh Valley Chimney Specialists. As requested, I gave them a 1/3 deposit. Due to their schedule and the weather they said they would do the job in the spring, which I agreed to. The job was subsequently done the last week of April, 2021. I can't speak as to the quality of the finished product...time will tell. However, they left a mess of residual concrete and/or mortar on my driveway and patio pavers, which I noted at the completion of the job. The worker who finished the job said it would probably wash off with a couple of good rain storms and if it didn't, they would come back to clean it up. We did have several heavy rain storms shortly thereafter, which did not wash away the mess. I should have insisted that it be cleaned up prior to making the final payment, but, sadly I didn't. I then made at least 6 calls to their office and spoke with their receptionist, stating that I wanted to speak with the owner, Phil, to discuss my concerns and other questions I had regarding the work performed. Each time I was assured that they would pass the message along to Phil. It is now 3 weeks later and I have not received any response. Either Phil did get my messages or he doesn't care about his customers once he receives payment. read more

I do not recommend. They have broken appointments last minute twice on me at this point, as I waited at home for them to show up. I spent thousands of dollars on chimney upgrades, build and brick wall for behind my woodstove with them. The first time they cancelled my appointment, they told me the tech called out. When I called them to reschedule, the tech had marked on my file that my house was "difficult". The second time, after telling me they'd be at my house between 11 and 2, they called me to say they had an "emergency" job at 1. My conclusion is that they only want the big jobs and will not service or maintain after. To their credit, they do nice brick work. But I can't recommend as your go to chimney maintenance company. The only perk of this company was how fast they came out. We hired them to repair the crown of our chimney, which was cracked, had holes and was leaking in. The tech that came out dealt with my husband and was friendly. The price was much better than anyone else, but you get what you pay for I guess. When I scheduled the appt, I paid a deposit over the phone with my card. After they came out to do the work, nothing was left at the house to let me know they had been there or information on how to pay the balance, so I assumed they would just charge my card. I waited a few days and nothing was showing up on my card, so i called. I was confused that I had to track them down to #1 confirm that someone actually came to do the work and #2 to pay my bill. The girl on the phone said she wasn't sure if they came by...what?! Someone else ended up calling me back to confirm they were there and take my payment. Not long after, I noticed the chimney was still leaking. I called and they scheduled someone same day to come look at it, and they were to call me with the results. Well, no one called. A gave them 2 days and I heard nothing. When I had to call them, the girl that answered the phone had no idea what went on (again!), got information from someone else and said they would be out on a Friday to fix some cracks that were still there. So that Friday came and went, and again I had no way of telling if someone was there to fix anything (they come when no one is home). So the weekend goes by, it rains again, and the chimney is still leaking. At this point i'm very irritated that this is still going on. Monday morning before I had a chance to call, I got a call from the office saying that someone would be out to do the repairs that day. I asked her why no one came on Friday, and again, she didn't know, but someone was going out today. Fine. Just fix it. That was a couple weeks ago, and guess what....ITS STILL LEAKING! The run around with trying to get information out of the office staff is frustrating. Having to wonder if someone came by or not is annoying. And twice now this was supposed to be fixed and it hasn't been. I'm trying another company at this point. I can't deal with this frustration anymore. read more

Where to begin. I was told my job was going to take one day, two days tops. The installation team came late and begin working. A few hours into the job I was told I needed extra work that was not discovered during the initial assessment and this would cost an extra one thousand four hundred and fifty dollars. Now thats over twenty percent of what I was originally slated to spend so needless to say I was not happy. I was quickly informed if this work wasn't done the rest of install would not be warrantied. So like I had a choice I told the team to continue. I was also told that I would be put at front of the line when part came in and it would be accomplished the next week no problem. So here I am the following week on Thursday told I wont be able to have my work done till the next week on Friday. Not what I was assured, so I am again not happy but what can I do. This is a company that I called each and every day throughout the week multiple times for status updates. Not one time did they return my call. I had to call them over and over again. So buyer beware when going with this company. I cant do anything about my situation except ride it out and see the finished result. But when someone tells me something that is what I expect and I haven't had it happen one time yet. All I can do is warn others so they don't make the mistake of going with this company like I did. read more

When I moved up to the Valley they were on the list of companies that I should reach out to about my house in PA. They were difficult and didnt seem knowledgeable, even tho they had a lot of "years of experience".... they were not very helpful, were not even familiar with the unit I had in my house, and the price they gave me was crazy high in the market. I ended up getting the project done for half of what they quoted. read more
