I'd like to start this review with saying a few of the technicians have been so KIND however, customer service is truly awful. I bought a brand new stove approximately 22 months ago. I've had it serviced 5 times ( waiting on a call back for a 6th time) for essentially the same issue that just never gets resolved. the problem has yet to be fixed. I've asked to speak to management, higher up and even the owner with no results. spoke with a woman who was extremely rude and non helpful. I have a 6k stove that's now out of warranty- a new panel, thermostat and wiring has all been replaced and yet it still doesn't stay in running condition. Bought a gas fireplace insert from wood stove in Easton in 2020. Service manager emailed us in August of last year to state that we should have our fireplace serviced we set up an appointment and the service tech never showed. I called the service department well after the appointment window they gave us and they said that the tech was there and no one answered the door. Tech stated that he called me twice and I never answered. Looked at my phone and I had no missed calls, Ring doorbell never sent me a notification of anyone st our door. Called to talk to service manager and he really didn't care that his tech missed an appointment. Wood heat is good at selling their products, but that's where it ends. Very poor customer service. You may sugar coat my review all you'd like. The fact remains I bought a supposedly brand new stove & it has not worked properly...had two tech visits...changed out NEW PARTS & it still does not work as it should. I have oil heat at home, which I usually fill up once a year because I use the pellet stove as my supplemental heat source, I am due for a second fill up already! Which will cost me an additional $450! My electric bill also went up to over $200 in a month because I have to use my electric heaters!!! This is my most expensive winter!! I thought this $2000 purchase was going to pay off but even with all the sugar you're adding to my comment, it has turned out to be a frozen nightmare!! read more

WARNING!!! Do not do business with this company. They took all of our cash up front ($7000+) for a unit that we had purchased in the summer of 2012. Winter is half over.... and they are still not done! "TIM" the sales guy came to our location to inspect the place. Not to get too technical, he said that we were good for the install. So he sets up a date for the install (in a month!). When the installers come, they tell us the the chase base box is too low. They told this after we had rebuilt the entire fireplace with stucco on the exterior. We had specifically had asked TIM to make sure that everything was a GO-AHEAD before I told my stucco guy to apply the stucco. Bottom line, ON OUR EXPENSE, we then needed to tear down part of the chase and RAISE IT because the installers said there was a safety issue. We should have been notified of this before anything else, yet to only find out when everything was already done and way too late. If you do go with them, you will discover they are terrible at communication. They ignore your calls, when you leave messages, they DO NOT CALL BACK. And when you talk to TIM (your sales guy) he'll tell you that he will call you back, and he does not do so. They did not install the unit until Dec 1 2012 (4 months later). Per our contract it was supposed to within the first month. So on Dec 1 they decide to come out and they deliver us a BROKEN UNIT! Now we need to wait on OUR WARRANTY and another work order in order to fix the issue. In addition, THEY DID NOT FINISH THE CHASE INSTALLATION JOB!. They left us with will an uncompleted install. This means that we can not use the fireplace! The year is almost over...the winter is almost over. We are VERY upset with the sales person TIM and the owner TOD for not following up and getting this whole thing resolved as quickly as possible. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. They smile to your face when they want you to buy and when you do they screw you, breach your contract and do not care about you after they collect your $$$! 2 days ago we had another install date set with JOHN, he was supposed to come in and finish the work order. NEVER SHOWED UP! We called Tim to follow up on what the hell is going on here. TIM told my wife he would call back - AND NEVER DID! We are frustrated beyond belief. Unbelievable. My wife went in to gather info as we have Justen moved to the area and want to add a fireplace. The salesman couldn't have been any less helpful. This man would not answer direct questions regarding prices and wouldn't let her have any of the preprinted materials. Our prices change all the time. Depends what you want and other in appropriate dialog from the salesman. Even when my wife pointed out a floor model she couldn't get a straight answer. Even after complaining he wasn't helpful he continued to be evasive. Feels a little like a bias not to be helpful to women in general. Apparently he did not understand that in retail it is the female gender that usually makes most of the buying decisions. Horrible customer service. At first we were very impressed with our salesman Tim. He came to our home, went over our choices and products, and seemed to be very helpful and on top of the whole project. He assured us that the installers would show us how to use the stove before leaving and if we still had any questions he, himself, would come and show us what to do. Stove installed and no one shows us anything besides turning it on and off. My husband and I both left message for Tim and at the store to see if someone can come out and help us. Tim calls us back telling us to Youtube how to work our stove. Youtube it!! After spending over $5,000 I would hope they would have better customer service than telling us to Youtube our stove. I WOULD NEVER recommend this company to anyone looking for a fireplace or insert. The customer service is horrendous and the staff is unprofessional. They do not value their customers and only care about making a sale. Once they have their money, they do not stand behind their products. Very disappointing. read more

Wow! I wish I would have checked yelp before purchasing our wood stove. This business doesn't have very good reviews. We are satisfied with our wood stove purchase, however, we are not satisfied with the honesty of the salesmen. We were told that we would be given an accessory at "no charge". Not only did we pay for that accessory, but we were charged $155 more than our contracted price. And we have been trying to get a copy of the charges to no avail. They made the sale, now they don't care. read more

Questionable. Bought gas insert from them and had them install unit. I was not sure about giving all the money up front before delivery, but they did show up and install as scheduled. After install had weird smell and were told that it was just breaking in and would soon dissipate. However, it did not then we thought we smelled gas. Finally called gas company to be sure and they arrived and found leak at connection to fireplace. The real problem is when that happens on a Wednesday and all Wood Heat store are closed on Wednesdays with no emergency contact number so you are left in the dark. read more
