My text to them because I figured it was a mobile?

I called this business to inquire about getting my dog some help. I wish I had recorded the whole conversation. I will say I do talk faster and I was definitely trying to give her all the information I could about my pup. I was explaining some of the behaviors like she asked me to.. She had asked a question here and there and I answered. My pup was also now barking in the crate because my husband had just come home. I had the phone on speaker and I realized she called my name so I stopped talking to let her talk and she literally proceeded to yell at me like I was an annoying child or something. I mean yelled at me to the point I just hung up after she said her main piece, no words came out of my mouth, and I had tears welling up in my eyes.. I felt so embarrassed And belittled.. I was in utter complete shock. Even my husband was in shock and when I told him for the sake of Dexter if you would like us to see what they have to offer.. I would be okay but only if you continue the conversation. He said he absolutely would not do business with someone who just went off on me like that.. (He heard the whole exchange) No attempt of being like Hey can I stop you, I'm finding it hard to do my job with so much information.. How about you only answer my specific questions from now on.. Anything to center the conversation politely. I would've completely understood that and been more than willing and accommodating. But she just yelled at me and made me feel so small and uncomfortable. Like on and on. I've never felt that way in my life. Her customer service was awful. Then she called me and left a voicemail from a different number still blaming me, saying how I just wouldn't shut up and was going on and on, with zero apology about her behavior in our prior call. I sent her text back telling her I just couldn't accept her behavior and that I'd asked my husband if he wanted to try with her but he refused as well. So we'd be taking our business to another trainer but thank you and wished her a nice day. Had she addressed me the way she did in her voicemail, during the call I would've apologized MYSELF, given it another go, done better. But the way she treated me to then casually send me a VM still going on about how it was my fault and not at least apologizing when you don't have to be a brain surgeon to know you hurt my feelings. She knew she had reacted horribly because she knew it wasn't a dropped call or anything like that. I almost wasn't going to post this review and gave it a day or so to think it over. But I was telling someone today about my terrible experience and they told me to speak up. I know the recorded portion of the conversation doesn't prove much about how she treated me. It's my word against her. I'm only doing so because thinking about it.. if that's how she treated me.. How is she treating a dog who can't say anything? Very scary.

This review is definitely overdue. Caitlin is a phenomenal trainer. She has worked with me and my…read moredog, Bailey in both Private Sessions and in group classes. We have been learning from her for approximately two years. Caitlin is incredibly resourceful when developing and modifying training plans. She has even met us at Trexler Park to work on Bailey's skills. The last time we met at the park we worked on recall and then realized that Bailey had an abundance of energy. Caitlin suggested that we work on loose-leash walking skills instead (which meant that Bailey was able to learn while "burning off" some of her excitement and energy.) [Fun fact: Caitlin works with birds, cats, reptiles, etc, etc] I get very nervous initially when working with a trainer and one of my dogs. My self-talk is usually "why can't I do this the way the trainer is" and/or "I should have taught Bailey these skills before." First and foremost, Caitlin is very positive, encouraging and understands my level of "training anxiety." . And she also takes the time to understand the ever-changing home dynamics; including the relationship between Bailey and our other dog, Bella. Our most recent training was at a group class held in Trexlertown. Bailey was able to ultimately complete a "down" command with hand signals only. We have been practicing daily. Caitlin can be found on both Facebook and Instagram. This week, she demonstrated unique "Kong" recipes to keep dogs interested and working for their food. Recipes are on her blog. I trust Caitlin completely and appreciate her "focusing on the positive" with her canine (and human) clients.

After…read morecompleting the initial evaluation, I felt optimistic that she would be able to work with me to help train my puppy so I purchased her 7 session at-home one-on-one package. During that session she stated that my dog had anxiety which I believed could be true due to her unknown past. She had recommended supplements and a costly CBD oil. On the day of our first session, she called me at the time of our scheduled session and said she had brought along her dog as well as a dog she was board and training. She had not given me any prior notification that the dogs were along with her nor asked for my approval to bring them onto my property. For the first 15 minutes of the session, the dogs she brought along ran around my backyard and my dog (who is still warming up and settling in with new people and other dogs) was rightfully very timid and scared. She then asked me what we would be working on that day and I had voiced to her (in our evaluation session as well) that crate training was very important to me and for the safety of my puppy when leaving my home. She then commented that would require going in the house, where she brought the dogs into my home (once again without asking permission). The dogs continued to be a distraction to my dog who you could tell was incredibly stressed and uncomfortable, clearly unable to focus and train. At that time, she did remove the dogs from my house and brought them out to her car. At this point, we had about 10 minutes left in the session where she pivoted to a completely different subject and tried to train my dog who was still very uncomfortable and scared by what happened previously. She proceeded to make comments with no actual facts that my dog was acting that way because she is "in pain", "has a very weak back" and that her behavior is incredibly "abnormal". I rescued her from an extremely reputable German Shepherd Rescue where she had been examined by a veterinarian and deemed healthy for adoption. Leading up until the moment she and the other dogs arrived my dog was perfectly content and has shown no signs of pain or discomfort in the time I have owned her. I had started giving her the recommended supplements and CBD oil and had started noticing that she was having an easier time settling. She commented that she had noticed no changes in my dogs behavior and that I should start giving her more CBD oil -- once again, my dog was incredibly uncomfortable after the unfamiliar dogs were in our yard/home and her disposition showed that. After this extremely frustrating and disappointing session, I reached out to her to explain how I was dissatisfied by what had occurred during our training session and especially for the price of what her sessions cost. I also voiced how I felt as though the trust had been broken and that I did not believe she was the best fit for my dog and myself. I attempted to end the relationship amicably by requesting a partial refund since she had not fulfilled any services. She provided me a refund at the cost of one singular session (which now after doing further research is an astronomical rate). While I do not discredit that she has been in the business for quite some time, I regret not taking some of the reviews that have been written more seriously, as it appears others have had extremely similar situations where she has given a "medical diagnosis" regarding their pet's behaviors. During this short relationship, she made me feel as though there is something wrong with my dog and has caused us both an unnecessary amount of stress on top of financial loss.

We chose Tall Tails because their advertising specifically states they train using positive reinforcement only and specialize in working with rescue dogs. These statements sadly are not true, as they used a prong collar on our fear reactive dog without our consent. During our consultation, we made sure that Bill (Co-Owner/Trainer) was fully aware of the issues our dog has, including his fear reactive behavior. Our dog was in their care from Dec. 29th to Jan. 17th. We received little communication while our dog was in their care, including not having a concise pickup time. Upon picking our dog up, we received him in worse condition than his drop off. His legs were coated in dry urine and his neck was raw and bleeding from the use of the prong collar. We were told by Bill directly on pickup night that they missed multiple days of giving our dog his medication while in their care. He even joked that they could tell during training sessions which days our dog wasn't medicated. When Bill did the graduation demonstration, we watched in agony as he jerked on the prong collar for multiple minutes and physically pushed down on our dog's shoulders, trying to get him to listen to a command. Of the six commands they say will be taught during their program, they only worked on three with our dog. Because we don't feel comfortable using a prong collar, our dog has made no improvements at home with these commands or with his behaviors in general. His separation anxiety, ability to take medication, and his leash pulling and biting are all worse. He now also disengages from training sessions by hiding in his crate. We were in so much shock that we left their facility without confrontation, not yet having seen the damage to his neck. After debating whether or not to move forward with their group classes, we declined and presented our discontent with photo evidence of his injuries. Having paid $2,200 for this program, we requested only a partial refund for the training our dog didn't complete in their care and for the injuries they caused. We have not received any form of response from this business regarding our request. We do not recommend this facility and feel very upset for what our dog experienced.

The manager at the boarding and training facility has changed in the past year, and unfortunately, our experience under the new management was far below the standards we had previously expected. When we picked him up, he had diarrhea and arrived with a soiled behind -- yet we were never notified of any stomach issues during his stay. He also had a deep scratch across his nose, which we only noticed in the daily photos and had to point out to staff ourselves in order to get him proper care. When we submitted a review after his stay, staff claimed they had informed us about the scratch and that he hadn't had any stomach issues while in their care. Diarrhea is very evident with our white Samoyed, as his fur gets soiled and requires extra cleaning, so their claims felt like gaslighting rather than honest communication. Instead of acknowledging their mistakes or committing to improve, staff told us we were no longer welcome and even blocked our portal login. Their response was dismissive, unprofessional, and demonstrated a complete lack of accountability. For the health and safety of your dog, stay away from Opportunity Barks and their unethical, unprofessional behavior.

After reading all the amazing reviews I thought to myself, we found the place and my dog Dre is going to look nice and dapper for the arrival of his sister in a few weeks. My wife had booked a cut and bath but when she arrived she was told that Dre was only booked for a bath and the groomer reluctantly agreed to the cut. She requested to shave him down extremely short to which the groomer protested and said she would shave him as short as she could. He came running up to me as soon as he got home, he smelled great, looked nice and clean but his hair was not shaved down very much. I immediately asked my wife why they hadn't shaved him down to which she informed me that this was the "shave". Given the circumstances surrounding this event I can only conclude that the groomer didn't want to shave him down further because whoever had put the appointment down hadn't blocked out a sufficient amount of time for the services we requested. I essentially have paid for a cut and bath for a dog who still needs a cut. I am left very disappointed. I trusted them with a member of my family to which they only decided to partially take care of. Update: Before the end of the night my wife was contacted by the owner who was very apologetic and wanted to rectify the situation. My wife took our pup back this morning and everything is great.
