To start, all of my correspondance with with Dodie via email and she was friendly and her responses were timely. That was greatly appreciated.
Dodie suggested that her husband, Marc, groom my 2 dogs - a Yorkie and a Cavvie - and I was so excited. We had our appointment for 2 pm and Marc arrived shortly after 1 and all he said was "I'm early." No text or call beforehand letting me (a brand new customer) know or asking if I was ready. Thankfully my lifestyle allows some flexibility. When I let him inside, he didn't introduce himself nor did he greet me or ask which pup was which. He cut Breezy's (Yorkie)head hair too short and I had to point out that part of the bridge of her nose was extremely uneven. He was sweet with her and Pax, which I greatly appreciated however didn't present well with me. No aacknowledgment or appreciation for helping bring his things to and from the kitchen or when I told him I added a tip to the PayPal payment. No "It was a pleasure to meet all of you" or anything. He just left. While I like when my groomers (you guys are my 3rd in over 20 years) to be wonderful with my pups, I also appreciate being in the loop and asked what I wanted styling-wise. I didn't stay in the kitchen because it riles them up and I didn't want Marc to think I was watching over him.
Since my last groomer had to stop coming due to distance, I'd been painstakingly searching for someone who does in home exactly like them. I know that not everyone communicates like me nor do I expect them to, however, as a businesswoman myself (dog boarding), I know that first impressions are key. Unfortunately, with me personally, it wasn't the best. My dogs look and smell good. As a consumer, I'm not impressed especially after reading the reviews. I will use them again as I greatly appreciate that they come to my home and Marc was great with both of my pups, however I think I'll request Dodie next time. read more
