A few years ago I had a dog that was extremely ill and we took him to two different emergency hospitals and no one could diagnose him correctly so once Long Vet opened, we rushed him there and Dr. Leighr was able to diagnose him with a very rare disease. Although the disease was fatal, Long Vet Clinic did everything they could and they kept him comfortable until he passed. He passed away at home and the office still sent us a sympathy card. Long Vet Clinic is great for regular exams, vaccinations, medications, and explaining the best care options for your animal. They are not overpriced, the facility is clean, and all the of the staff there cares about your pet just as much as you would. I highly recommend Long Veterinary Clinic!

I had to walk..from the door two feet to the counter for one of the 5 women in the small desk area to say "do you need something?" and it wasnt even the question although silly it was the tone. Yes, just came to check the paint color of the walls in here. Hmmm i may have a pet to be seen or a pet to be picked up? Not a great first 2 minutes of the first and last time i will ever go here. When i told them about my cat, one woman said "he isnt until a different time" and the other said i was wrong when i told her i was asked to change my appointment time. She claims i heard the time wrong (zero chance she also could have made a mistake.) Except i confirmed on the phone with her how far it was for me and that i would do my best if i left the house now. i told putting my arrival time there in the next 30 minutes as i confirmed. So i was out any appointment as they already gave away mine. Meanwhile i have an animal that already waited for this visit while sick. They gave me a line about calling the next day, a friday. No call. then the weekend. time continues to pass and we were never going to be a priority. Luckily we found another great place. Long Vet staff leaves a bad taste. Just moved here and midwest nice must mean difficult and lacking compassion. Heard they are the cheapest, but when it comes to your loved animals you get what you pay for. no TCL.

I was satisfied with this Vet for a few years because we usually see a regular Vet for my animals…read more This was until they just changed Vets without our knowledge. My dog fell off the bed and wasn't walking on his hind legs is why we rushed him to Green Summit. Instead of putting my dog on a stretcher they made my husband walk him into their facility. He was wobbly and fell twice on the hard floor before my husband picked him up and they put them in a room. When we called we informed them of our dogs condition and he couldn't put any pressure on his hind legs. He should have been put on a stretcher from the car to get seen. So the new vet came in (a Man with tats on his head) and they misdiagnosed him with an ACL injury and sent us home with steroids and pain pills. No Xray or tests were done. By that night our dog was completely paralyzed from the chest down. We took him to another vet and they said he definitely had a spinal cord injury. which should have been correctly diagnosed from the beginning. After a week of my doggy paralyzed he was no longer urinating, we called around town to see if we could get him in to release his bladder, and Green Summit was the ONLY one who could get him in. So again we took our dog to this vet. The same vet came in but this time not as a man, but as a woman in a wig and a stuffed bra on. He gave us the most vague answers on what we needed to do, so he referred us to an emergency vet. A $400 bill for them to recommend him to a different vet. We got to the emergency vet and after an hour they came in with horrible news, Diesel couldn't be fixed and was living in pain...we had to put my 6 year old guy to sleep. WHY DID YOU HAVE MY DOG EVEN ATTEMPT TO WALK INTO YOUR FACILITY??? We told you over the phone he had no movement in his back legs. I know he was probably wasn't able to be fixed, but with the right diagnosis maybe he wouldn't have suffered for a whole week

Over a month, we were making daily trips to Green Summit, then every other day, then a weekly visit while we waited for one of her puncture marks to close. Every vet that helped us was so thorough and so kind. Our dog also has Cushing's (which was diagnosed by Dr. Sbisa in 2020) and we wouldn't even consider going someplace else because they know her well and treat her well! I'm so tremendously thankful for Dr. Sirna, Dr, Sbisa, and Dr. Schaeffer- they all had a hand in helping my Winnie get better!

Richard has done AMAZING things for our whole family after 4 weeks-I even extended her training! Zona is just a happier girl and I'm no longer nervous taking a 70+lb guardian breed (at 8 months) out in public, greeting people, or on walks. And the girls who greet her every day are just as great! If you are considering professional training for your dog-just go for it. Richard worked with me to read her cues, loose leash walking, heeling, recall, working towards neutral with other dogs (WIP), and many more things. I'm as much a work in process as she is, but the patience they have shown is unmatched.

Ruby was reactive on leash and at at our fence with the neighbor dogs, and had problems focusing on us (and what we wanted) while she was outside. She's the first non-food-motivated dog we've ever had, and so we had no idea how to get her attention when she was so focused on everything else. We had only ever trained with treats and that just wasn't working this time. But Steph did know how to train her. After training, our dog is calm and confident. She can loose leash walk in the neighborhood at heel. She's patient and well mannered. A model citizen. She will focus on us when we're outside and come when called, which used to be a struggle if there was a nice breeze, or an interesting leaf, or a bee, or the moon to gaze at. I highly recommend training through KC Dawgz and the associated Digs boarding facility/play group in Gladstone. We dropped Ruby off every morning and picked her up after work, and got to take home a well behaved dog in the evening. She learned while we were working, when we didn't have the time or expertise to do it ourselves. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could. If you just have a wacky four legged roommate or a furkid who has a tougher problem, Steph can sort them out for you. The initial consultation was free and easy to schedule and the package we went with included in-home training lessons to make sure everything worked out right at home, too. Some of the best money we have ever spent. (Thank you Steph!!!)
