What a find! Near the four seasons, one street up, there's Leitaria! It's a small bakery with some delicious breads and coffees- perfect for our hungry breakfast! The prices were good too- nothing like a Pasteis de Nara for breakfast :) makes for a happy start of day. The bagels here were light and crunchy when toasted: I loved it! And it really tasted like sesame: another plus! One minus is they don't have cream cheese, but I guess that's an American thing- lol. I got mine with butter and enjoyed the great flavor of the bread. Loved the food here! Everything was fresh and delicious! Portions are good and prices are reasonable. My husband had the avocado toast with poached eggs (which were so fresh!) - and the soup of the day (that taste like it came from Mom's kitchen!) What a perfect breakfast, brunch, lunch spot near a hotel area. This cafe was just a short what from the hotel I was staying at during my Portugal visit. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and the staff are friendly. English is not typically the second language of most, so be prepared to speak clearly on your order. You order at the counter and your food and drinks are delivered to your table. Menus are available in English upon request. Everything is made fresh, and portion sizes are just right. Once in a while during your travels, you come across places that make you wish, very much wish, that you have something like this back home. Leitaria Lisboa is one such place. This place is quite an uphill hike from the metro station, but oh so worth it. And I guess it doesn't hurt to build up an appetite. This little cafe is really cute in baby blue and white, and offers delicious bread and pastry, salad, sandwiches, and omelets that are perfectly cooked in that slightly undercooked way, but what I loooove about this place is the yogurt bar. They get their milk from farms in the Azorean islands, and make the yogurt from family recipe. If you are a fan of Greek yogurt you may find this too watery, but I love it the way it is. There are two sizes to choose from; when you order, they use a ladle to scoop the yogurt from a milk can. Then you can add fresh fruits (mostly from Portugal), preserves, honey, and other stuff to it. This bowl of yogurt is the most delicious yogurt I've had in my life. Fresh, simple, smooth, natural. Not even the best yogurt I buy in plastic cups, even expensive ones that cost $3 a cup, measure close to this. Which probably is not surprising once I start reading the labels and see all the guar gum and additives in your supermarket yogurt. I thought the small cup is enough but definitely regret that getting the larger, because it was just too delicious. I feel sad that I live an ocean away. Oh why oh why... read more

The idea of a milk focused place was intriguing to me. The place looks really nice - clean wood, white, and light blue decor. We came for breakfast. They have pastries and yogurts where you can pick your own toppings (like froyo in the US). I wanted their yogurt cake, but they didn't have it the day we went. - Bio yogurt with seasonal fruit and granola: we chose passionfruit as the fruit - Pastel de nata: the flaky crust had a bit of salt, which was great. The custard was a bit sweet for me - Croissant: not bad - Almond pastry: nice thin crust; the bottom was almost like a tapioca flour, and the top part had more almond. It was strong in the cinnamon. - Latte: I normally would do espresso but had to get this to try their milk The yogurt was the highlight for us. All together, it was under €10 for everything, which was pretty good! read more

Being American I'm used to bacon/pork being thoroughly cooked. There is no rare pork I want to consume. Granted 3 other restaurants treated bacon the same, even the one I told "crispy bacon". It must be me. read more

Modern, casual, clean, friendly and most of all great yogurt make in front of your eyes. You want more? Well their milk is from their own farm. It's like turning the clock backward, pun intended, to the yesteryears. Today happens to be the "fall back" day for Portugal. Wish we could find more natural places like this, anywhere! read more

Perfectly delicious. Between the hotel concierge and Yelp it was an easy decision to come here for breakfast/brunch. Very fresh food. I ordered the brunch and it came with a bread basket and delightful toppings, a cheese and salmon plate and scrambled eggs. The eggs were remarkably tasty. I ate outside and a couple with two dogs also joined me. Unfortunately the dogs were a bit smelly. Ah well, when in Rome .... Highly recommend. read more

I can't say I've tried enough to be credible, but the viennoiserie was excellent, and the pasteis de nata were among the very best I've had in Lisbon. Right size, crunchy, not too sweet, and able to manage a long trip without losing the perfect texture that makes them so delicious. I noticed the place because of the all-white ambiance, was won over by the quality of the goods. First time in Lisbon. I strongly suggest trying Leitaria Lisboa. It's a quaint little cafe with many foods to choose from. We started out with the salmon cheese and arugula sandwich. The bread alone you could keep eating. Substituted mozzarella cheese instead of cottage cheese. Fresh orange juice no pulp blows Tropicana away. Pastry excellent but the best, to die for was the hot chocolate. Never had such a smooth superb cup. Service with a smile and very friendly. Here a few days definitely coming back!!! read more

THIS PLACE IS INCREDIBLY AMAZING! I am so, SO happy we stumbled upon it as it just so happened to be near our hotel! Everything is SOOOO fresh, and the owners take such pride in their food! We learned that their dairy comes from cows from a certain region of Portugal. They have brunch specials - we decided on the one w two yogurts (served with 2 fresh toppings of your choice), two drinks (fresh OJ or coffee/tea), two croissants, and fresh bread (served w butter, jam, and cottage-cheese like thing). We also ordered a side of scrambled eggs (made to order). Our breakfast was simple but delicious. All of this was only 15 euros.....WHAT A STEAL!!!! read more
