I especially was drawn to this place because it seemed to be more relatable to my interest as compared to some other local consignment shops in the area that definitely seemed more beach and coastal themed. The Wherehouse is quite literally a giant warehouse. Plenty of good pieces as well as some junk. A lot of chairs, old furniture, and random items (my favorite was the child's Oscar Meyer Weiner car lol.) I was looking for something very specific and so this place didn't satisfy my needs, but this was a cool spot to look around. I think the value was pretty good overall for what they had available. And don't even get me started about how the artwork was outside! I took a bunch of photos. Probably like others do as well. Ha ha. Didn't interact with any staff during my time there, but that is honestly honestly just fine with me. They seemed like good people from far away.

First let me say I have been a very loyal Lowes customer for MANY years! But my experience in the past two weeks with Lowes at 354 S College Street, Wilmington, NC brought ALL of that to an end! Every year I always gift my adult children their most needed gift. For example, in the past three years I have replaced their pricey stainless steel refrigerator and washer and dryer. This year, their dishwasher looked sadly out of place with all their other new appliances so I decided to surprise them with a new dishwasher. I kept looking at their Black Friday specials and the model I chose was a top of the line one with Lowes offering FREE INSTALLATION! This was VERY misleading as I was charged for the installation at the time of purchase and was told that I would have to file for a rebate AFTER the appliance was installed which was NOT what was advertised. So, I went in and made the purchase and arranged for it to be delivered and installed a few days later which they were at work so it would be a surprise. In order to pull it off, I had to drive from over an hour away to meet the installler. Having a key to their home, the plan was to make the drive, meet the installer and have it in place when they returned home from work. First, the "installation window" was somewhere between 8 am and 5 pm!!!" Which means I had to leave home no later than 7 am as I had no idea when they would arrive. I was STILL waiting at 5 pm - NO CALL - NO UPDATE AT ALL. I called Lowes and was told I WAS on the list but they couldn't get to the delivery and installation until a FULL 9 days later! So, this past Saturday, I repeated the process with a delivery window of 8-5 am. The installer, I was promised, would call 30 - 45 minutes before they arrived. Well, the installer DID call - from the parking lot! This Lowes "professional" installer looked like a high school student!!! I asked if he was a licensed plumber and he never gave me an answer! He unloaded the dishwasher and brought it into the house. He looked at the old dishwasher, took some pictures and sent them to his boss. He had NO CLUE what he was doing. Based on his phone conversation with his boss, he was told they would not be installing the dishwasher and I would be charged a delivery/return fee if he had to reload and return the dishwasher. Needless to say, I was not happy so I called Lowes and asked to speak with the manager on duty. After being on hold for over 30 minutes I hung up and called again. Finally I spoke to some lady who would not identify her name or position. When I explained that I needed another installer she stated they only contract with ONE and NO ONE else would be sent. She then said the only thing they would do is to refund the installation charge (which was zero as it was supposed to be free!!!) So now, I had to hire a local plumbing company to come out and install it at a cost to ME of over $400 which I should not have had to pay IF LOWES hired professionals. This "supervisor" was beyond and COMPLETELY uncaring in honoring their committment, I said ALL of this to say that HOME DEPOT JUST GAINED AN AWESOME CUSTOMER AS I WILL NEVER SHOP AT LOWES AGAIN! CALL ME ONE PISSED OFF CUSTOMER!
