After a few reasonable delays they had us set for a date in mid July, which was the only single week the entire summer we were out of town. I signed a contract with Jonathan Petursson of Horizon Fence and Construction to renovate a home my wife and I recently purchased in NW Indiana. I paid a large down payment to start the project and purchase materials needed for renovation (huge mistake on my part). He started the project and one of his subcontractors drove a vehicle into my house damaging a large section of the external brick facing of the home. My home is now damaged, most of the contacted work never even started - and I am left with a huge mess on my hands. For many weeks now I have repeatedly tried to contact Jon or anyone at Horizon regarding this project. Many calls, many texts, many emails, many letters and no response from Jon or anyone at Horizon. Jon took our money, damaged our property and then ghosted us and become totally non-responsive. I am in the process of hiring a legal firm to attempt to correct this situation and hopefully retrieve some of the money I have lost dealing with Jon. Please, please don't make the same mistake I did, you will regret it.

Paid for tear out of old small concrete patio and replace with 18'x25' concrete patio colored…read moresandstone color and stamped with a pattern. The color ended up being red and not sandstone and the pattern was done very unevenly and overlapped in places. Some places have heavy indentations, while others have almost no pattern. There are large heavy brush marks and rough spots all over. The steps have a chunk of concrete missing and there's also spots where it looks like they stepped on and sunk into the concrete. Until I made the final payment, Kenny was responsive on the phone and they even started the job a couple days ahead of schedule. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of paying in full before the job was finished. It's been a month since I paid in full and the owner Kenny is almost completely unresponsive during that time. He claims he can fix this with some grinding and sealant, yet in the past month he's never attempted to fix it. He's told me he, or his guys, would be over on a certain day several times and then no one shows up. I then call and/or text Kenny to find out what is going on and he doesn't respond for days on end and finally responds back with some excuse. As you can see from the photos, the color and stamping was done horribly and I suspect they just don't know how, or don't want to waste their time trying to fix it.

Over the winter, all of the support posts broke, and our fence was about to fall over! The owner of On the Level came out in a timely manner, and he provided us with a very reasonable quote. My interactions with the owner were always pleasant. He returned calls and texts in a timely manner as well. The employees that he sent out to complete the job were prepared, knowledgeable, and professional. My husband is knowledgeable in regards to home maintenance, and he has an extensive background in construction. He could have done this job himself, but since his time is limited, he decided to hire someone instead. With that being said, he is difficult to please, and he always wants the job done correctly. He was very impressed with the work that was done. The employees from On The Level were personable, and by speaking with them, my husband could tell that they knew what they were doing. They even left the job site clean, and they never cut corners. The job was more difficult than anyone had anticipated, and it took more time. We were never asked to pay additional fees. The owner stood by his quote, even though his employees had to spend more time here than anticipated. We would hire this company again without question. We are very pleased with the results, and we feel that our money was well spent. Thank you On The Level!!
