I signed a contract with Jonathan Petursson of Horizon Fence and Construction to renovate a home my wife and I recently purchased in NW Indiana. I paid a large down payment to start the project and purchase materials needed for renovation (huge mistake on my part). He started the project and one of his subcontractors drove a vehicle into my house damaging a large section of the external brick facing of the home. My home is now damaged, most of the contacted work never even started - and I am left with a huge mess on my hands. For many weeks now I have repeatedly tried to contact Jon or anyone at Horizon regarding this project. Many calls, many texts, many emails, many letters and no response from Jon or anyone at Horizon. Jon took our money, damaged our property and then ghosted us and become totally non-responsive. I am in the process of hiring a legal firm to attempt to correct this situation and hopefully retrieve some of the money I have lost dealing with Jon. Please, please don't make the same mistake I did, you will regret it.

She came out the day after we called. Over the phone she presented various ways to repair or install anew fence. We felt like we wanted a cedar fence, but she explained by using pressure treated posts and cross members(the horizontal pieces) the fence should last longer and about $5-6,000 cheaper. The underground marking personnel from NIPSCO took about three and a half weeks to mark the lines. Once that was done Rojas Fencing was here. The workers worked on one of the most humid and hot days. They removed the old fence and installed the new fence in two days. It looks fantastic. We had AT&T out for a repair and the man wanted to know who did the installation. Rojas did an excellent job and left the area clean and neat. I would strongly recommend Rojas for any fencing needs.

I had a tight schedule while I was in town to get a 50+ year old deteriorating wood fence and gate…read moreremoved and replaced. After getting several quotes and recommendations, I went with Michael Kelly, owner of Mr. Fence, to remove the 60 ft long wood fence used to separate 2 adjacent properties and replace it with a more economical chain link fence. I chose Michael because he was responsive and willing to readjust his work schedule to meet my short time frame. His pricing was also very fair and competitive for the scope of work. After the site visit and getting his formal quote, Michael and his crew was able to start work within 2 days on a Saturday. David did a great job in removing the wood fence, installing the new support posts in concrete, and cleaning up afterwards on the first day. Michael came 2-3 days later after the concrete had time to fully cure to install the chain link to the support posts and install a new gate. Throughout the process, Michael was open and accommodating to my thoughts and ideas to ensure the finished product met my expectations. He also helped me with some related minor "handyman" type repairs that was well beyond his scope of work which were much appreciated. Michael made sure the work was done right and to my satisfaction. So I needed a fence first for safety reasons. Fence master came and gave me an estimate of $3500 for a vinyl fence that will last me " forever ", which was a little expensive but as the saler explained, it's on a rooftop and it must be done properly and it has to go deep inside the wall for stability. The day of the installation I took the day off to supervise the work, unfortunately the people that came had no idea it was on a rooftop and didn't have the material to secure & ground it properly inside the wall. They rescheduled for the next day and of course I wasn't there! I came home on the evening and the fence looked amazing... again for 3 weeks! One windy day ( in Chicago how surprising!) somebody ring at my doorbell... your fence is about to fall they said! Do something! OMG!!! around my rooftop there is parking with several cars and people were hurrying and trying to remove their cars ASAP. I go on my rooftop and see the fence all around moving like I was on a sailboat! The fire department and the police came shortly after, alerted by all the neighborhood. I just moved into that house and didn't make any friends after that... finally the fence gave up taking most of the wall with it. What a circus! I was traumatized by the whole experience. The firefighters and police officers were great and secured the area and helped so much. They immediately told me that the fence was just screwed on top of the wall and that was extremely dangerous . I showed the police officer my estimate from fence master and they decided not to give me a citation or a fine because they believed I didn't do anything wrong and I was of good faith. I called fence master and they came to take the fence away. I had to have the wall repaired... $4000...but they ghosted me completely. So I have no fence on my rooftop and that costed me $7500!
