My mother-in-law and sister-in-law had been here before, so they knew it was great and brought us back, along with my husband's grandparents. Do take note, you have to book your table in advance. We sat in one of the backrooms which was very cozy and inviting, albeit a bit noisy from a rowdy group of "ladies who lunch," but it was fine once they left. We all really appreciated that savory items were included in the the afternoon tea. The menu features a selection of sandwiches, savouries, a cup of soup, a bucket of chips, a selection of cakes and a mini trifle. Plus your choice of a pot of tea or cup of filter coffee. I was happily surprised at the wide variety of teas! There was ample to eat. My husband and I ate our entire afternoon tea, but everyone else in our group had a few sweet treats left to take home. The food was very delicious. I loved the little quiche best along with the soup served in a cute tea cup and saucer! Plus, the little basket of chips was a nice touch! Scrumptious! Also, it's just 14 pounds for Afternoon Tea which I think it a great value for such a delicious savory tea. Afterwards, my family browsed the farm store and boutique which featured a lot of cute country style home goods and seasonal produce and artisanal food items. Do go upstairs to poke around at their merchandise. It's cute. I really enjoyed this afternoon tea and I'd love to return next time we're back to visit my husband's family!

It was crispy, soft like pudding and a bit sweet. I opted for the tuna panini which was terrific. I read it came with chips which I figured were fries but got actual potato chips which was fine I guess. Michael said his All Day Breakfast was spot on except for the sausage which he described as cheap or watery. The other lads said there's were fine and devoured it spite being hung over. Before breakfast I asked to walk past the gates to witness the sprawling fields. I was welcomed with a bit of apprehension and took a few photos as you may see. Apparently no one asks to go back into the farm. I breathed in the cool air and appreciated the beauty of the English horizon. I was met by the owner, Bill Williams, in a tractor who stopped me to have a bit of a chat. He is a funny man when he said the view was "alright" and there wasn't much to see. I learned the farm was 400 acres and how he had a kick travelling the California coast line several years ago. When I return to Chester I will be sure to come back and eat here and say hello.

They served up a fantastic matcha latte, and Liz got a cappuccino. I thought this place was a fine place to eat breakfast, or if we wanted to get a coffee or tea to go. Liz and 'Em had pancakes... although it looked like smaller portions they were filled quickly. I had a morning brekkie with meat, which came with toast, bacon, a small tub of beans, roasted tomato and spinach, and toasted eggs. It was all pretty delicious. The server offered sauces (hot sauce or ketchup). I was pretty content with the food. All types of folks come in and all are treated the same. Also I should add that I was really impressed with the cleanliness of the customer toilet; so often in these small cafe type places the toilets are not particularly salubrious but the Corner Room's little convenience was clean, tidy and fragrant. I will definitely be heading to The Corner Rooms again when on my next jaunt to Allerton Rd.
