What an incredible hidden gem for anyone seeking healthy, gluten-free and vegan foods. Don't be deceived by the compact storefront with 3 parking spaces in front-- this place has two floors and everything you could wish for. Fresh produce, frozen foods, herbs, skincare, tea, specialty bakery items and grab a latte to go! Check out this wonderful market!

First time in this place and I love it. Great selection of organic food, grains, bread, fresh fruits and vegetables. The staff is friendly and attentive. Definitely I will come back in a future trips to Lancaster.

This is a fantastic little shop in the heart of Lancaster, PA. It's tucked away on Lemon St., and it is easy to miss. Especially with all the construction going on. I had to circle the block and come back around. From the outside, it's a rather unassuming presence in an obviously hanging neighborhood. As I stepped into the shop, it was initially underwhelming. But thankfully, I never let that deter me! I began to explore. The shop has a distinct Co-op feel, which I love. And considering it's a natural foods store, it seems fitting. Once you really start looking around, you see that size doesn't always matter - it's quality that counts. And Lemon St. Market certainly delivers on high quality goods. They have top selections of nearly everything! And a lot of fun, locally produced items - everything from raw milk and dairy to pastured meats to vegan goodies to handcrafted bath and product products. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The store was clean and bright. And the selection was great! If you find yourself in Lancaster, I highly recommend a stop by this fun little market!

If you only visit Lancaster for a few days this is one of the places you have to go. My favorite stands: 1) S. Clyde Weaver has insane specialty sandwiches and is one of my favorite delis. I typically get a large roast beef sandwich with mayo, lettuce, tomato, and the sweet bell peppers. The peppers are my favorite and I always ask for as many as they are legally allowed to give me. Caution: the large subs are ginormous so I usually eat half then save the rest for later. The bread holds up pretty well and doesn't get super soggy, but if you plan to eat it the next day, I would forgo the tomato which can get a bit slippery. 2) Kom Essa features the best breakfast sandwich around. It's greasy, but if that's something you don't mind, this is a must try. 2) Mean Cup is for anything coffee/caffeine related. This might be the best coffee in Lancaster. I practically give all my money to their storefront shop on Harrisburg Pike. 3) Shady Maple is the perfect stop for sweet treats: donuts, whoopie pies, etc. They used to have the best maple bacon long johns (hear me out) but I haven't seen them there for a while. 4) The Candy Stand is nostalgia central for me. Pretty much any type of candy you can think of, you can find there. This was a staple for me when I was younger. 5) Long's Horseradish features the best horseradish you can buy in a gagillion different flavors and variations.

Since it's been some time since I last shopped here, it was a treat browsing all the vendor stands and seeing what foods are available. As a garden/flower enthusiast, you know I had to check out the flower stands like Perfect Pots and Inspirational Blossoms, both with fresh blooms. For lunch, after a taste test, I opted for Soulcialze, which provided generous portions of mac n cheese, collards, beef brisket, and cornbread. Tables are provided for lunch or snacks, but we had to wait a few minutes because none were available. At Lancaster Central, you can expect a friendly atmosphere in this beautiful historic building, where the local community shops and supports. I usually secure parking via parking apps at the Hager lot or one of the two nearby parking garages.

I really want to give it 3.5 stars but there's nothing really wrong to give it 3. I was there late…read morein the day about 7pm so take that into account. Very clean, good location and plenty of comfortable, outdoor seating. However the prepared foods are really lacking, especially compared to other Whole Foods. No sandwiches at all and sad pizza. However the Greek-style and salad bars are excellent and a decent value. Again, with a caveat: they use sunflower instead of olive oil. Why?? They have their own brand of excellent olive oil, why wouldn't they use that on their dolmas? Such a weird decision. It's not like you need the prepared foods to be shelf stable. Of course it tastes just like sunflower oil instead of olive oil. Sad. Otherwise the dolmas are really good, not dry or rubbery like they can be. Changing out the oil brought the flavor up from a 4 to a 7. The place is pretty small, maybe half the size of a typical grocery store. The alcohol section is tiny and picked through, The freshest breads sold out. Even saw a guy buy out their entire stock of 3 12-packs of farmhouse ale. If the place was bigger then they could have the foot traffic to offer more prepared foods and a larger stock. There's really no deli section, butcher or seafood section. They got rid of their house brand cold press juices which were excellent and priced well compared to the competition. The actual whole foods (cereals and beans) was not stocked for the most desirable stuff like black rice. Maybe 20% out of stock and the other 10% was clearly not stocked in a very long time. They did have buckwheat groats at $5.50/lb though which is fantastic. I think the Greek food and salad bar is the only redeeming quality because it's a good price and was fresh and stocked. Just be sure to poor off the oil and add your own olive oil and it tastes much better that way. If you're careful and observant you can find some good deals and rare products not stocked anywhere else.

Dozens -- no, hundreds -- of vendors, Amish and others, selling an astonishing variety of foods and gifts of all descriptions. Sorry to be so wordy and vague, but there is so much to Roots. First off, it's open only on Tuesdays, so plan ahead. And get there early; the parking spots -- there are a lot of them -- really fill up. When we arrived at 10:30am, we circled and circled before finding a spot. Secondly, it can get very crowded, and in summer very hot. Dress accordingly. And please note that many of the vendors accept cash only. There are ATM machines scattered around the area, however. The market has indoor and outdoor vendor stands. We loved the delightfully huge food offerings (indoors). Everything fresh. All kinds of meats (loved those sausages). Every kind of fruit and vegetable you could want. lots of Amish vendors, but plenty of others. too. And wow, the selection of foods, clothing items (we bought beautiful, hand-cut belts), antiques, and ...well, we can go on and on. We spent hours here and came away exhausted and VERY happy. And we found ourselves wondering why can't we have a farmers market just half this size with a fraction of the goods for sale somewhere nearer us in New England? Honestly, we could go on for pages about this. We had a wonderful time and recommend a stop here. (And we were told there are several other really outstanding markets in the area). All the other positive Yelps you read about this place are right on. We're fortunate to have visited and are eager to return -- just wish it was closer.

I came specifically to shop in the Main building, area 3, for Tropical Forest Shea Butter Soaps as a birthday gift. I learned about Tropical Forest at the 2025 PA Christmas + Gift Show at the Harrisburg Farm Show Complex. Tropical Forest also has a stand at Green Dragon Farmer's Market. I am thankful this farmer's market has a website with a directory of most of the vendors and an office with people to answer questions. And free maps of the entire farmer's market. There is plenty of parking, a plethora of food places to take off or eat while there, a large number of restrooms, and great signage inside and outside of all the buildings. Worth noting, not all stands/vendors take cards; some only accept cash.
