This NOT about the grocery store, it's actually about the food. Because I believe that the reason the store is going downhill is because of the filthy, inconsiderate people. You know the ones who are too lazy to return their carts and continue to leave trash all over the place. However, my complaint is why Giant is calling their soup - Italian Wedding soup when in fact it is just some type of sad looking chicken soup with pearl pasta and fake chicken pieces. We've been coming to this Giant more and more since last year. We have noticed a huge improvement in the service and organization at this location. The staff are warmer and welcoming. The store is cleaner and more organized They are helpful and everyone is always working away. The staff at the Starbucks are amazing. It's the only place that makes a good Starbucks coffee in Lancaster at this point, I usually come in over the ease of a drive-thru because they make it much better than every where else. They really pay attention to the order and want to make it correctly. They seem to take pride in their work which is really nice as a now regularly customer. Whoever is running or managing this location is doing a great job. read more

I give 2 stars because the rest of the store seems standard. However, I have never had a worse pharmacy experience than here. I moved my prescriptions here because CVS was commonly out of my medications, but I immediately moved them back to the CVS. I have never met a more hateful pharmacist than the female pharmacist that works here. I'm not sure of her name (blonde hair, glasses, older woman). She was not only unhelpful, but actively aggressive towards me when I was concerned about what I would learn later was an actually dangerous dose prescribed by a doctor. She would not listen to my concerns, and I'm not embarrassed to say I returned to my car to cry. Pharmacists are supposed to help you get the medical intervention you need and look out for dangerous doses, but she did not feel I was worthy of either of those things, I guess. Thank the Lord that I didn't take the dose and got a second opinion instead because the dose WAS dangerous given my other conditions. I would still be going here if she had just listened to my concern and given me her input, even if said input was telling me she wasn't sure instead of being nasty to me about how I was "wasting her time" and "holding up the line." I'm sure that it was in fact busy, but my actual life was on the line here and she was the pharmacist processing my medication. If me asking that question was that catastrophic to your process than maybe you need more pharmacists on duty. I was not asking her to do anything more than her job. I was not being unreasonable or loud or disruptive in any way. I just genuinely needed someone who would hear me out on something that actually could've killed me. She directed caused Giant to lose my business as a whole because I refuse to step foot in there and potentially see her. read more

It's a grocery store. It's hard to say much more because it's such a mess here. Start with the carts which are scattered, not retrieved from the parking lot frequently with trash not managed as a first impression. Inside is chaos with stockers clogging aisles and blocking access to items, a robot that gets stuck and blocking access, narrow aisles and then add people to this equation. It's a stop because of location but even navigating the parking lot is challenging. read more

On Thursday night, I popped in to grab four items 10 minutes before closing. As I was walking to the register, an employee named Jessica Costello started accosting me saying that the store was closed when it wasn't closing for two more minutes. When I inquired why the store was closed early, she said "you still have to check out so you'll be leaving after 11 PM. You're keeping me from having time with my family." She was still fighting with me when I left the store and there were still two other people still checking out. Just one of the many reasons why I almost never shop at Giant anymore, but if I do go back, I'll make sure to go at 10 minutes before closing just to mess with her. Lolol. read more

Not sure anyone in management reads these reviews, but do better, Giant. I completely understand and acknowledge that bagging my own groceries is reasonable, but having to do so as the line backed up and my items are left to spin endlessly on the belt until I get to it speaks to a checker's complete unwillingness to do anything aside from literally ringing up items. Not typically a Giant shopper, but I needed to quickly pick up some groceries and grab a pre-made meal for dinner. The chef made a point to say hello, tell me about some of the weekly sushi specials and let me know that it's all made fresh, everyday. Overall, the sushi is what you'd expect. Not the highest quality, but for the price, okay. I got the California roll for my daughter, she's not into fish, and didn't end up eating it anyway. I thought it had a strange flavor, which is abnormal because I find California rolls to be the most bland and would even say it's not really sushi. Interestingly, she liked the Shrimp Tempura roll most. The flavor of the shrimp gets lost with the added toppings and sauce. I would give the tuna the same feedback. You knew it was fish, but not what kind. Definitely not my go to spot for sushi, but for about $25 and convenience it served its purpose. read more

Hoo-boy, am I pissed. I ordered a Flash Food order for a full rack of ribs on clearance for $8 and change. I didn't realize until I was home that what they gave me was a quarter leg of chicken which is sold for less than this price without the clearance discount. At first I couldn't tell with the barbecue sauce and thought they gave me a half rack instead of a full rack, but they didn't even get the animal right. It was labelled as ribs, I have no idea how they can mistaken the two. Needless to say, the deal I was pumped for ended up being a regretful purchase, and I drove 15 mins from work for mediocre overpriced chicken and now I'm stuck having to dispute with my credit card since Flash Food was the one who handled the sale. Until their meat department gets trained on identifying meats and proper labelling, I cannot come back here. read more

This Giant is completely revamped and expanded. Its really rather nice now - not that it wasn't before. I'm not entirely sure why they upgraded - but go them. My only complaint is that the parking lot is laid out in a weird way - and people can come at you at all angles - and they will. Very disappointed. This evening shelves all disarray. Lots of empty spaces of the products I was looking for. And the only check out option was self check out. I had a full cart of groceries and as any one who has used self check out know. You can't take your packed bags and put them in the cart so I played the game of Genga with my groceries so that I could scan the entire order. The attendant was not paying attention and I had to holler to him 3 isles away on 2 separate occasions. System continued to tell me to remove un scanned item an freeze. Three weeks ago I ordered a fresh turkey. I decided to pick it up the day before Thanksgiving. Got it open and the whole turkey was frozen. I called and was told about "flash freezing". Supposedly this is done on the way to the grocery store in a freezer truck. I guess it must have been in there for days. This 21lb guy was solid on the inside. I was told that they'll try to find a replacement. They called back, and apparently all their turkeys in a 15 mile radius were in fact frozen. They refunded our money for the turkey but the main dish at Thanksgiving was not the same. I would not recommend preordering a fresh turkey from any Giant. read more

This location has all the problems of the Centerville Giant only magnified. Congested isles, strange layout, no baggers, restocking done during the day blocking isles further...yeh they have all this and than some. Had a hard time finding a small cart inside, than even a harder time trying to find a cart corral in the lot to return it. The express line for 25 items or less was full of folks with full shopping carts, and the staff did nothing about it. The line at customer service was 6 people deep, and yes I counted! I honestly liked them better before the remodel. The layout was more consistent with the rest of their stores so it wasn't so hard to navigate and find what you needed. They HAD a nice hot/cold salad bar with seating, even supplied a free newspaper. It was nice to leisurely eat and hang out. Now that same area is a "beer garden". More profitable I'm sure but it has lost its appeal. In addition to the beer garden they have a full florist department, and have a bigger selection of items makes this store. More stuff = more people. It's crowded, like black Friday crowded at any time of the day. Been here a few times just because I needed a few things and was in the area....ended up spending more time than if I would have ran across town. There is no "in and out" here. Visited well before 5pm this past Monday and was greeted by registers 10 people deep, seeping into the isles so you can't get around. Tried to find someone on the floor to help find something since the layout is different, good luck with that. I was unsuccessful. The parking lot is even worse, especially if you park closer to Lititz Pike...took a good 10 minutes at the mercy of strangers to let me out since the line that leads to the exit was right behind my spot. Add another couple minutes to fight the traffic to exit the lot. While this may be one stop shopping, ask yourself - is the time and aggravation worth it? read more

I'm pretty sure the rotisserie chicken (which btw was awful - overcooked and dry) should have been discounted $1.00. What up with that??!! For some reason this place was the best market out there, been coming here for some while now, but things have change threw time NOT THE SAME COSTUMER SERVICE positive people employee in side, I just went in today for there on house home made bread I guess they prefer to have it at the bakery in the plastic on the carts than in stock for costumers like me but. I wonder how is it that Buisness have change so much, now a days big Buisness prefer to hire people with bachelors or masters degree and the only thing they know is number but CERO in the actual Buisness people service. And not only it's happening in regular supermarkets but in warehouse as well. Jeopardizing the name brand and the food quality for a few extra numbers that will look good in paper. We bought fruits at Giant, Lititz Pike - jicama, grapes & mangos on Thursday & on Saturday when we were cutting them into slices - the mangos & jicama were rotten on the inside. You couldn't tell by the outside of the fruit but it was terrible on the inside!! The grapes are good. I have never encountered this problem at Stauffer's. I just happened to be in the vicinity of The Giant & that's why we shopped there. I gave them one star because the grapes are good. read more

So this Giant just re-opened after a huge renovation. I'm thinking the theme for the renovation was BIGGER and BETTER. There's a new coffee shop\lounge. Overall a huge improvement from its previous existence. There's also this new service where you can scan your groceries as you go, then pay at the end. I'm not sure how it all works, so I'll have to update if I decide to sign up for it. Sounds neat though. The service level is the same... C+ at best. Not bad, not amazing. That's 'bout it. read more

I was in the store while in town visiting a friend. I was pretty impressed with some of the modern features in the store such as the "scan as you go" which seemed to make small grocery trips a bit easier. The store also seemed to have very fresh produce and we all very much enjoyed the cheese and olive selection that we feasted on at my friend's home later on that night. Johnny's is a place I go because I am in South Hadly, MA so frequently. The restaurant is very casual, and it has solid food. It is one of those places where one konws what one will get, and the quality is never compromised. Johnny's also has one of my favorite foods, fried pickles, and some decent chicken wings. I went in here at 12:30 to get a salad and soup for lunch. The salad bar compartments for greens and lettuce were completely empty. So I decided to get soup, and the soup bar containers were also empty. I'm guessing they are short-handed?? What a wasted stop for lunch. read more
