RUDE!! Couldn't even get through booking an appointment and now I'm stuck with a gift card to this place smh

Pretty disappointed. I made an appointment and asked for about a two inch trim all the way around. Near the end, my stylist insisted that we do some "long layers" and "thinning" to keep the ends "looking light" and "laying flat." The haircut is horrendous. Somehow, the front of my hair ended up about three inches shorter than the rest, when it all started at the same length. It will take me FOREVER to grow this out now. It's about two months later and I still hardly ever wear my hair down because it still looks awful. The only reason I give two stars is because I called back a day later and they took me back in right away to try to fix it. It couldn't really be fixed, but it was worth a shot. read more

I've wanted to try short hair for awhile, so I finally decided to take a step away from the Great Clips and Fantastic Sams of the world and try out Lemon Water. I feel a little out of my element at places like this, but everyone is welcoming and friendly and makes me feel like I'm right where I should be. My first visit was a month ago and Gina was great. She cut all my hair off (yikes) and listened and gave me advice on how to style. She helped me feel comfortable and at ease. Fast forward to today and I went back for my second visit. Gina was fantastic again. I described kind of what I was wanting and she took it from there. I liked my hair when I left, but after being home and really looking closely, I feel like I LOVE my hair! I don't think that's something I've ever felt until today. Not having other actual salons to compare Lemon Water to, I feel like the haircut price is very reasonable, especially with all you get. The scalp massage is amazing and you also get a little hand massage as well and the customer service can't be beat. I will keep coming back and I highly recommend this place! read more

This is my first ever Yelp review of a Hair Salon. I am 76 years old, and while I would not describe myself as "picky," my grey receding curly hair has challenged every stylist I have visited in Minnesota. My wife and I are sort of snowbirds, with our primary home in New Mexico. But each year when the weather improves we drive north to spend summers with our grandchildren. As a result, I have needed to have my Albert Einstein like bushy hair clipped back while in Minnesota. By the time my wife started complaining that my hair was out of hand, and that I better get it cut, like now! This year I dreaded the inevitable Minnesota cut, because in previous summers I I have left the shop or salon looking like a poster of an aging Marine Recruiter, buzz cut and ready to enlist kids. I put a lot of time this year on selecting a new location for a haircut. After reading reviews, I settled on Lemon Water, not too far to drive and the reviews were promising. I was lucky enough to have Anna cut my hair. And, I am pleased to report, she gave me what my wife and I believe was the best haircut ever. I wholeheartedly recommend Anna and Lemon Water for anyone needing their services. read more

My mom and I have been clients of Jen's for years. We have followed her as she moved from salon to salon, and we are thrilled to see her at Lemon Water. Lemon Water fits the Aveda Brand perfectly, focusing on service and providing a relaxing environment. Lemon Water recently moved to the suite next door, and it is so much more spacious and open than the previous salon. You feel glamorous when you enter the salon with the rich colors and metallic finishes. The girls are great, they treat you with a hot towel and beverage when you enter. They typically have some sort of sweet available too. In December, they had Christmas frosted cookies for their clients. I've had colors, cuts, updos, and makeup applications done with Lemon Water - you can say I'm a regular. Their service beats the rest. I recently had my Bridal Hair and Makeup done with Jen and Kaylee, and I was SO impressed! I recommend doing the package that allows for you to do a "practice" run-through prior to your big day. Jen and I were able to work out all the kinks in my hair style, and I was able to try out the fake eyelashes and cry off my makeup BEFORE the wedding, so I was set for the actual event. Whenever you do a cut or color, or whenever you get your hair washed, they take their time to make sure you're comfortable. The girls will do a relaxing scalp massage while they wash your hair. Since becoming an Aveda salon, the stylist will typically do a nice hand massage while your conditioner/toner sets. Talk about going above and beyond. Truly, this is a place I keep coming back to. I saw a post for a very reasonable haircut at this salon. I was introduced to Megan and really appreciated her listening skills, head massage and massage and haircut. I was introduced to Megan and so appreciated her listening skills, head/ hand massage and haircut . I did not like the room that you went into for shampoo. It's dark and foreboding. And to another stylist! FYI it is totally inappropriate to seat a client next to another when there are only one person in the room. Give people space. I was there to relax. read more

I have been coming to Lemon Water Salon for 12 years. My entire family now comes to Lemon Water for all their hair care needs. Bethany is an amazing stylist who is on the cutting edge with the latest training and styles. People ask often who cuts my hair as they love the style and cut. I have referred many people to Bethany and they have been very satisfied and happy with their experience and cut. The customer service is top notch. They greet you at the door with a hot towel and a beverage of your choice. The scalp and hand massage while you are getting your hair washed is amazing. The staff are all professional and courteous to all the clients. Bethany knows me so well and I trust her when I am looking to change my style. Bethany is very honest and would never cut or color my hair in a way that would not be flattering on me. If you want a massage that is worth your money, go here! This place is absolutely amazing! Kirby is the best masseuse I have ever had! Not only do you get a robe and slippers, you can shower and use all the Aveda products while you do it! Such a wonderful atmosphere that really makes you feel pampered. I have gone to the Lemon Water Salon for 10 years. I have had family and friends purchase gift cards for $300.00 for Christmas, birthdays and anniversary's. Now I find out that the Eden Prairie location which I have gone to for years is closing. I was not informed by any phone call or media of this. By chance my back was bothering me and I went I for massage. I had an excellent massage by Kirby who has been my masseuse for the last 6 years. I booked another massage within 2 weeks because my back was messed up. One day later I found out they were closing. I had already booked an appointment 10 days in advance, found out from a friend salon was closing. Wow how incredibly this was. How could a company I have gone to and literally have spent thousands of dollars at have not contacted me.? I still have over $400.00 of gift certificates at and they will longer honor. Hello these are the same owners as the salon in White Bear Lake. Are you serious I have been a loyal customer and all of a sudden they can't get me in or honor my gift certificates. Really.? This the same owner of the saloon at White Bear Lake? Is this a place you want give your money to? I still have hundreds of dollars in gift cards and they could care less. I went in to have my hair colored. I was unhappy with the way it turned out. I told the stylist immediately and she blamed the lighting in the room however was gracious and said we could do it again. She walked me to the front desk and the stylist and I told the lady at the front desk that I wanted to schedule another appointment to fix the color. Unfortunately, I scheduled the hair appointment right before my trip out of the country. The redo appointment was scheduled for 3 weeks later. The day before my appointment, they called to confirm I was coming. I double checked that I wouldn't be paying for the redo service. They said that they don't have any recollection that there was an issue with the 1st appointment and refused to honor the redo free of charge. They said they have a policy that it has to be redone within 7 days. That "policy" was never mentioned during the conversations I had regarding being unhappy with the color and then proceeding to schedule another appointment to fix it. The manager on the phone was rude and did not care at all to lose a client. She did not honor the appointment as it was scheduled. I will not be back. Why would I schedule a color 3 weeks after just having it colored if I wasn't unhappy? Very disappointed in both the service and costumer service. read more

I had a phenomenal time there. The atmosphere is very calming and soothing and the massage was relaxing. Ann was my stylist and I loved her. She was very sweet and listened to what I wanted and definitely treated my hair with care, especially with my bleached hair. I definitely love my hair more after. I completely agree with Renee V's review. I had been a regular patron of the Eden Prairie salon for over 20 years in total, and for the entire time that it was under the Lemon Water name. I, too, was left with $250 in gift card dollars owed me when the Eden Prairie salon suddenly closed. I was told and later reassured that any gift card I purchased would be refunded. This did not occur, and I am deeply disappointed. The company is not going out of business, just choosing not to make long-time customers whole as a result of a business decision around one location. The response of "there isn't enough money to go around" just doesn't sound like the tone of a reputable business, and perhaps why one location was closed with a 2-week notice period in February of this year. The gift cards were purchased during the holiday open house at the salon at the end of 2017 (perks were offered for the higher dollar gift cards purchased). Interesting timing to say the least.......and I am hearing that several other patrons are in a similar situation, left holding the proverbial 'gift card bag.' read more
