The facilities are nice and clean. The staff is polite and well meaning. The equipment is mostly in good shape. The problem lies that I feel like the staff is too polite and won't call people out for not wiping down the machine after using it. Used to LOVE coming and taking my kids to the pool!!! Went there today and it was a mess! I asked the head lifeguard a question 3 times and she completely blew me off and ignored me. Barely any pool chairs out, I had to go and unstack my own from a big pile. Saw kids jumping on each other and trying to drown each other from the summer camp and the lifeguards sat there mute. Love the CORE! Amazing to see such a nice and clean place! We're new in Lemont and I'm proud and happy to say that I am a member here. I take the classes regularly. Highly recommend the Tabata class w/ Gina, Body Pump, Body Combat and Cycling. The others are also awesome. Everyone here is so nice and kind. People actually smile and say hi! Very unlike what I was used to back at other "franchised" gyms. The CORE is family friendly and has a day care option for kids (can't comment on this yet). The pool is kept clean. The gym itself is extremely clean. Such a breath of fresh air. Thanks CORE staff for being so welcoming. Love it here! I would love to see more evening classes (HIIT, Cycling, more Tabatas and Body Attack) :) read more

I went there to play pickleball. I had played there once before and played vb in their league for a couple of seasons. Pickleball starts at10:30 on the day I went so I got there at 10:20. They said I didn't have a waiver which I would need, so I filled one out. Then they said I had to have my picture taken to play pickleball? I play at a number of places and none have required my photo-they just give you a wrist band. I was somewhat puzzled on this so I asked. The woman told me everyone who comes in here has to have a picture taken. Having been there several times previously and never had my photo taken, it concerned me. (My only guess on this one is they must have a lot of sex offenders/criminals here and feel the need to document them.) So I pay my $5 for my one-time playing while the woman tells me she needs to register me. I go to the bathroom and tell her I'll be back and then she takes my picture. I go in to play and there are probably 30+ people there and there are 3 courts set up, which means there are 12 people playing and 20+ people watching. so at this to point I decide to not play and just leave, because there are already at least 11 people ahead of me waiting to play. So I go up to the same woman, explain it's too crowded to play- (a colleague of hers says they're going to be setting up more courts--I asked when? and she says "now."It was 10:50 at the time.) and ask for my $5 back which is where it gets funny. She says I'll have to call finance TO GET A REFUND APPROVED. At which point I start to laugh and say, why? I just handed it to you and she says, and I quote "I can't just hand over $5." At which point I am beyond stumped. So I take a seat and wait for her to call finance to ask for my $5 back and I hear her part of the conversation...."So I should just give her the $5 back?" At which point she gives me my money back.Now at this point, I am just laughing, thinking the entertainment was well worth the $5. As I leave-and mind you at this point I've been there for a half an hour, there are still 3 courts set up, and now there are more people waiting, because additional players have wandered in to play in the 30 minutes I've been waiting. Came in because we are Prime members through Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance. We were expecting to get in and nothing else - but got a free T-shirt and were full-fledged members! Child care seems like a great deal and they have a good ratio. Fitness machines are like brand new. We had a great time playing in the pool in open swim with our 1 year old. The lifeguard brought out duckies, balls, and cups for him to play with. We have had a great experience so far. Facilities were clean, showers comfortable, swimming lessons here have also been good. Can't believe we waited 3 years of living here to come here. read more

The Core in Lemont is a fantastic training facility. The staff are great. The indoor pool and locker rooms are great. The gym has just about any piece of equipment you can think of even recent data like medicine balls and crossfit equipment. The staff will help you with anything and the hours it is open covers almost anyone's work schedule. Simply a great place to work out. read more

I love the pool here. The indoor pool is 6 lanes, and goes from 4 feet on the shallow side to 6 ft, 6 inches on the deep side. There are diving blocks for competitive swim teams to use. The water is perfectly pH balanced and clean as can be. They take great care of this facility and they attract a very strong swimming community to the Masters program they have. One of the best suburban pools, for sure! read more

Stay away from the Core Fitness Center. Prices are extortionate, and memberships cannot be cancelled without forfeiting a "prorated" charge of one month's membership or more, even on a month-to-month pay agreement. Employees are unable to explain how this policy helps the LPD in any way except by wringing more money out of customers. They do not issue refunds, even in cases of relocation. They are not compassionate listeners, and do not offer any kind of explanation or assistance aside from "That's our policy," or "Talk to the board." Horrible business practice, not transparent at all, and I would not recommend this place to anyone I know for these reasons. It is a community fitness center, not a phone contract. The Park District is a civic institution to provide a community space to residents, not a for-profit, Chicago-Parking-Ticket style price racketeering game. read more

The Core is a great facility. The Lemont park district works hard to maintain a safe, clean and family friendly environment. You'll see all ages and fitness levels at the Core gym. The fitness center portion of the Core is decent in terms of equipment. Plenty of cardio equipment is available but it does get busy on the weekends and during the evenings. The strength machines are adequate but they could use some improvements. The free weight area is somewhat separate from the rest of the workout area and is often times overrun with people standing around and hanging out. All in all, the fitness facility is well maintained and is very nice for a park district gym. The indoor track and group fitness classes are my favorite part of my membership at the Core. Cold temps don't have to stop me from getting my run on. When I'm looking to switch things up, I take a class. There are plenty to choose from and range from low intensity to really intense so most people can find some that suit their abilities and interests. I've never used the pool or the child care room but both are available. read more

Ok, I am really peeved. My son home from college went to play basketball at the CORE tonight at 6:00 pm but was told they had to set up chairs and tables for an event TOMORROW??. Now, I paid for a membership and find it hard to believe that the boys couldn't use one basketball net to practice shooting, etc,. how many do they have?...MANY!!!!.....And this isn't the first time that the courts were unavailabe due to other excuses, uses ( letting the grade school use)?...I will never know why?....Anyway, if there is no open gym, then it should be posted online, etc read more

My son and daughter attended a basketball camp there this last winter. I believe it was American Basketball Academy. The coach that ran it was named Sam and I believe he said he worked with the park district although they also do camps elsewhere. I'm about to sign my kids up for 2 weeks of that summer camp and I just felt like I wanted to write this review and sing their praises. Coach Sam really cared about what he was teaching my kids. He took the time each day and new details about what my son in particular had been doing week or poor throughout the days there. The other coaches followed his lead, it was obvious. He was very knowledgeable and just spoke with the tone and aura that gave my kids confidence. I know it worked on other kids as so many parents that I spoke with there were repeat customers. I'll end my review, but I cannot recommend a basketball training camp any higher than All American Basketball Academy, and particularly coach Sam. read more

Came to the lemont pool today, sat down for 5 minutes on the chair and a lifeguard came up to me and told me to leave or change because she got a complaint that it was inappropriate, i left to get my money back and they said they couldn't give it back. read more

came to the pool this evening. 5 min after i walk into the pool life guard named Emily comes up to me and my friend and tells us our swim suits are too inappropriate so we have to leave or change we did not get a refund or a sign on rules about what to wear to the pool, I wont be arriving at that pool ever again. read more
