It was a hot Summer Day and me and my wife were looking for a great place to cool down and relax at. We wanted to check out something else prior but that water park was packed and didn't have a premium admission price. Parking wasn't bad at all but what was pretty bad was only 40 percent of the water park was open and paying full price to go in. You only had access to the lazy river, plunge/diving board and 2 of the slides. That's it everything else was blocked off indefinitely. There were fights for the beach benches, unruly children trying to steal the inflatable tubes as well as constantly line cutting or spitting on people from the railing waiting to go down a slide as well long lines to even get in to the lazy river. Maybe my opinion of this place would be a bit different if this place was fully open but I would look elsewhere before coming here. read more

Ok, we were here on a striking hot summer last month (August); there were a lot of people but it was totally worth it! We did not get to have our own umbrella so we just stumble under a shaded tree, it kinda lovely without the reservations though because of the picnic vibe while kids swim feels - but then luckily the people in front of us left early and gave us their chairs. Swweeeet.. Entrance fee are pretty fair, there was about 30 mins line, tons of parking spaces so you do not have to worry. We just picked up our food ourselves because we did not get to see the food store(?) if there was even one? Indoor pool was closed when we made our visit so our kids just got to enjoy their outdoor pools which were all fantastic! We have 5 years old, 8 and teenagers that tried the slides _ I was scared in the beginning 'coz it was too high but it's manageable I guess 'coz they went back and forth. There were 3 pools (?) as far as I remember, 1 is like a lazy river with slides, big one for kids that includes 2 lanes if you want to swim in laps and a very deep 12 ft pool with slide as well. The life vests, floaters are free you just got to show them your ID and you are good to go. The only thing I think I don't like is the changing station there was not enough showers? But all in all we will come back if given the chance to go back to Illinois. We had fun! read more

This last visit was awful. $54 for 3 guests to visit the waterpark! I was mostly excited for the lazy river, but other guests were holding onto the inner tubes (not sharing with other guests, carrying them around all day, leaving them at their seat), and we waited 22 minutes to go in. Of course when it was finally our turn to go in, they put in a system where you could only go around 1x and you couldn't carry it to a slide. The main pool was standing room only, no chairs available. Food was expensive too. Definitely not worth it. read more

My wife and I brought our son here on a weekday. This was our first time here, so we didn't know what to expect. There's plenty of parking and the overall setup seems good. You pay, change in the locker room, and head over to the pool. Unfortunately, the indoor pool was under maintenance, and the oasis play area was apparently under maintenance as well. The water slides were closed off, and the lifeguards kept whistling people out of the 3- and 4-foot areas. That means we were restricted to the 2-foot and less area of the pool. Since it slopes in like at a beach, there's not much you can do in the limited 2-foot depth. We just splashed around with our son. Not really worth the $9 per person fee considering the limited options. read more

This is a family friendly waterpark. I love that there is an enclosed sprinkler area and a large wading pool for little ones to enjoy. There's a lazy river, swimming pool and water slides for bigger kids as well. On the days where the weather is not so great there's also an indoor pool area with another wade pool, water slide and a pool if you want to swim laps. Had my sons birthday party here and the kids had a ball and the staff were very, very helpful. We never use the lockers or restrooms so I can't rate those... There are always discounts available (check the local guides) and reduced admission days. Always a great time! read more

It's decent for a community aquatic center. My kids loved the lazy river and water slides, and it wasn't overly crowded. For the most part, lifeguards were attentive without being overbearing. We had fun. However, it is overpriced. read more

We love this pool. We go almost everyday. We bought the membership this year which is very much worth it. 14$ per month per person which seriously beats the 16$ entry fee. You can bring your own snacks. The outside pool is nice and the inside pool (kinda small) is open year round but has some wacky hours in the afternoon. Closed 4-7 on tuesdays and thursdays and 4-6 on Wednesday's. All in all it's worth it. They don't allow balls or anything. You can bring water toys but no floaties. All life vests must be us coast guard approved. I also recommend buying either a lock to use in the locker room or a lockbox to attach to your chair for your phones and cards because I've had a few things stolen. Also get here early, chairs are sparse. Food is ok, they do accept credit cards but bring your own it's cheaper! Have fun!!! read more

I really really wanted to like this indoor pool. Our son LOVES water and the looks of this indoor aquatic park seemed perfect. It caters to young kids. Our 15 month old would have had a ton of fun if he could have enjoyed the pool without freezing. Within just a few minutes his lips were purple and he was shivering. I too was freezing cold! They claim they keep the pool warm but every single person there was freezing. I asked a lady at the front desk who had zero clue what to tell me. I than asked a young man who worked there that kind of laughed and said "we try to keep it at 82 degrees but it doesn't happen". We stayed about 35 minutes before we decided it wasn't worth it. Go spend your money elsewhere, I am certain there are indoor pools around that are warmer and more enjoyable. Aside from the freezing pool, the locker room was disgusting. The amount of hair on the floor was gross. All in all I will never be back. read more

We have been here numerous times and kids loved this place. In summer time, the outdoor water park is open which offers two big slides with tubes and without tubes. My favorite is the lazy river. I could just be floating there for the whole afternoon. There is a separate outside diving pool. My son jumped off for at least 20 times yesterday which made me almost dizzy just by watching that. And I didn't get one good picture out of it! There is also a sand area for kids as well. In winter time or it is burning hot outside you need somewhere to retreat to, there a nice indoor lap pool, a big water slide and an area for younger kids inside. It is a great place for having the birthday parties for kids. They allow you to prepare most food except pizzas. We always have had a great time there. read more

I'm reviewing the indoor pool only because I went there for 4 year old's birthday party. It's a very kid-friendly area and despite the private party there were 5 or 6 staff/lifeguards around. There was a shallow end for the toddlers with a small slide, a hot tub, and a separate pool with several lanes for doing traditional laps. One thing to note if you come here is that they do not provide towels or food-we catered food (not that I really expected food) My one complaint is that the floor of shallow end for toddlers was really rough. I understand there are benefits to that sort of finish or construction but for a child zone, it's a bit dangerous and hurt many of the kids' feet. read more

The lifeguards are very professional and are on top of their skills. The managers are always kind and helpful when us guests have questions or concerns. This place really is where the fun is! My kids have a blast at their parkie slide. Also, the building is beautiful after the remodeling. read more

Do NOT have a party here. After paying almost $800 for the whole waterpark for a first birthday party-the staff wouldn't get the general public out quickly enough..I had guests walking in as I was unloading 6 cars of party supplies. I was given ZERO time to prepare after I was told I'd have 15-30 minutes to set up. No one cares. In addition, the pools were all freezing. This is what happens when you only staff 16 year olds during an event/venue that costs as much as a small wedding. I called to complain and escalated to the district manager and nothing was done. Nothing. Her party was ruined. I will never go here again. read more

This was on my list of localish indoor water parks to check out but now having been, I would urge others to reconsider before visiting. For one, the temps were very cold, both in water and air. They also didn't offer any life jackets, nor pool equipment, and yes, that lady was right about the scratchy bottom floor. The locker rooms were especially chilly. Children over 5 also aren't allowed in the locker rooms opposite their gender - not a risk I'm willing to take. If you do happen to go, most of the shower stalls are push button at a set temp - it was too cold and too hard to push for my son - but there are additional standalone showers by the lockers which allow a little more privacy and adjustable temps. The swimsuit water extractor was also leaking so the staff left a bucket underneath, which was overflowing. The overall state of the locker rooms were gross - muddy with puddles. Really a shame bc the facility has good bones and doesn't seem all that old. read more

My grandchildren came to stay with us for a week so i thought because it was going to be hot today i would take them to Pelican Harbor. This review is for the indoor aquatic center. I had to convince my sister and husband to gear up our 4 toddlers and load up the SUV and make the haul to Bolingbrook on a Saturday afternoon from the NW side of the city. They were not at all excited about swimming with the kiddos, but something deep down inside told me we'd love the place, and we DID. For about 32 dollars, we had over 3 hours of fun. At the end of it everyone was glad we came. I loved the cleanliness of the locker rooms. I loved the abundance of life guards and complimentary toddler-sized life jackets. I loved (and wish I'd known ahead of time) that you could bring food/drinks in from outside the facility, and enjoy them at picnic tables near the pool. The toddlers loved the tot-sized water slide, the zero-depth splash pool, and the challenge of seeing how deep into the water they would dare to go. I loved those 2 minutes I got to sit in the hot tub before I had to go chase another kid. So, I say go. They had a large double slide for older kids. I am going to head back this summer if not sooner and check out the outdoor park. I knocked off a star, mainly because I wish they provided towels. read more

Pelican Harbor has a nice indoor lap pool (for grown ups) and a sectioned off area geared more toward the kiddies. Plenty of life guards. The music level inside is fine... the music level outside though, let's just say I live on the border of their park and the music is loud enough I have to turn TV up just to hear what's going on. Again, plenty of life guards outside, too. Concession stand - be prepared to pay more than you would if you packed the same snacks. The lazy river is cool. There's a water slide. I am reviewing the indoor park only. It is clean and there are plenty of staff...it was also not horribly crowded. However, the indoor is not really that large truthfully. I feel like there are more things to do for my kids at other indoor pools. One of my favorite pools is the Oakbrook District Pool. There are more water fixtures there and a bigger zero depth area. Also, there is no indoor snack shop which I thought would be there based on other reviews...after 2.5 hours of serious fun my kids were pretty hungry. I was torn between 3 and four stars but based on the staff friendliness and cleanliness I went with 4. A good little winter break. read more

I am reviewing the outdoor water park. I did not go to any of the indoor facilities so j am leaving those out. The price for resident is $8 and the price for non resident is $15. There are four water slides two tube slides and two body slides. They have a pool with the deepest area measuring 4 feet and it tapers to shallow water. They have a plunge slide and a diving board in the deep pool measuring 12 feet deep. Included is the lazy river that has two paths, one with no water features, just a smooth ride, the other has squirrels that shoot from the side of the pool, three water dumpers and bubbles. Food sucks. Don't bother. One lady was inline demanding a refund for her soggy sandwich. Ice cream was fine. They were out of funnel cakes, pizza, hot dogs and something else ... I don't remember. If the food sucks you should offer a refund. I mean it doesn't take a genius to open a register and count change. Worth the 15 if you bring your own food. Great place to be on a hot day. read more

This was a decent way to pass a dull chilly April day with two young kids. The indoor park is geared more towards younger kids than mine - I have a 7 and a 9yr old and they were definitely on the older edge of the age spectrum there. There are two waterslides that empty into shallow water (3ft maybe?) and there is a shallow beach entry with a playset in it for the toddler aged kids. The staff was friendly enough. There was a big difference in the lifeguards on duty. Some of them were really on their game and keeping the kids in line. Other guards seemed to be much more laid back and the kids ran a bit more wild as those guards rotated through. All in all, it was a fun one-time experience. We had fun, but I don't really see us coming back. read more

I work at a different pool, but honestly we love this pool the MOST. I love it because there is A HOT TUB that's indoors, and it has more slides than the pool I worked at. I also love the sprinklers in the lazy river, and overall, it's a lot bigger than most local pools. It is pretty costly, but it is an amazing park. I highly recommend going here! read more

This is where my son learned to swim when he was only 5 years old, they have the lap pool and a diving pool! The first time he jumped off the diving board almost gave me a heart attack lol! It gets really crowded by mid day, but it is worth the wait! our whole family enjoys it. After a week and a half of trying to chase down the one person who can book a party I finally had to give up the whole thing. A nice, modern, clean facility, but poorly staffed and managed. Entrance to and exit from the lazy river is not marked though they are barely ten feet apart, and they made a big federal case when I accidentally entered via the exit. Very expensive admission for non-residents. Thirty minutes in there was some vaguely stormy-looking cloud cover so they decided to clear the pool. No problem, we'll just go to the indoor part of the park. Turns out the indoor part is booked all day for swim meets. Ok, let's just get a refund. Nope, rain-check for one week later. I live 80 miles away, and spent $60.00 to take the kids to an indoor water park, for this crummy service. Save your money and go somewhere else, unless you enjoy rude, slack-jawed teenagers telling you where you can and cannot stand/swim, etc. read more

Pelican Harbor is the best value in the local area! I am not a Bolingbrook resident and so I pay full price when I go at $15 a person, but it is worth it. I sometimes get coupons in the mail for 2-for-1. If you decide to pay to become a summer member it is only $82 for non-residents, a steal if you plan to go often. Also, I believe that if you are a member you get to enter 1 hour before everyone else. When the weather is hot and humid going to Pelican Harbor is a no-brainer: 1) Easy parking if you get there within an hour of opening. 2) You can bring your own food in, even a cooler, which makes it a really great value, or you can purchase from the snack bar which has relatively inexpensive offerings, although limited it is more than enough to get you through the day (pizza, burgers, hot dogs, etc). 3) Lots to do for the entire family so that everyone between 1-100 is satisfied--a good sized zero depth pool, several different levels of water slides, a fairly large lazy river, diving boards in a deep pool, and also a spray park and sand play area for kids. 4) Plenty of seats and lounge chairs unless it's a weekend, but then you can just lay out your towel on the grass. 5) Plenty to do but small enough so that you can keep track of where everyone is if you separate. 6) Fairly clean restrooms for a waterpark. 7) As late afternoon nears we have found the crowds heading home, a perfect way to enjoy the late-afternoon and evening. Year after year, this has proven to be a great place to spend a few hours with the family on a hot summer day! read more

Lots to do here. Huge, modern, kid-oriented outdoor facility with slides and activities, plus an indoor zero-depth entry pool - a nice break for us fair-skinned people. Lap pools for the more focused swimmers. Indoor facilities open year-round. The few times I've been here it was crowded but manageable. read more

I don't have many good things to say about the indoor pool. Do not bring younger children here, the bottom of the shallow pool is so jagged my son always gets cuts and bruises. The water is freezing. You can't use any of the toys like noodles that they leave out. Basically there are more rules than I could possibly list being enforced by a bunch of 12 year old lifeguards. I had my daughters birthday party here, and the time frame was not explained to me and my daughters birthday was ruined. I emailed the coordinator my complaint and I couldn't even get an email back. I visited this location for the first time today after discovering our local water park had changed their hours. The changing areas and restrooms were clean, the indoor area was busy, but not overwhelming and the kids had a great time. One of the young ones in our party was scared of going down the slide and I was very impressed with both the positive support and empathy shown by the staff for a scared child that could have easily been overlooked. We returned several times, as she wanted to keep trying. Three rotations of lifeguards later and we experienced the exact same approach by all of them. I was very impressed by the staff and proud when my little one took their advice and finally went down the slide and loved it. We will be going there again. read more

We have celebrated my daughter's birthday 4th and 6th birthday parties at pelican Harbor and the children (guests) had a blast. Its big enough to not feel like you are at a chucky cheese or great america. Pizza is okay but the host service is awesome. I like the fact that the indoor is available if it rains or its cold.
