I've been here twice with two different MacBooks. The first time I needed my screen replaced. I waited a few days for them to order the parts and then was given back a MacBook with a dented screen. When I complained saying I didn't agree to pay for a damaged product the guy reminded me that I had already signed an agreement (I did, but that doesn't make it right) and that all sales were final. A few years later I came with a different MacBook that wasn't charging. I was told over the phone that it would be hundreds of dollars to fix. So I declined their business. I then went over to Ithaca Mac Repair who told me all I needed to was to clean the charging port with rubbing alcohol. Overall the customer relations were horrible, and they did not do quality work whatsoever. Mabe no one will ever see this review because of the messed-up algorithm, but if you do please don't give this shop your business it's not worth your time or money. read more

Lena Gadgets is completely different from how I remember it being a few years ago. They've updated their service and the person who works there was super timely and professional. I feel like they have a team although I only saw one person working. I had my s8 screen repaired along with a new case and glass screen protector. They had it done the same day! Awful company! Violated my privacy and did not fix my phone (read on for details). Go anywhere else. I took my phone to the Ithaca Mall branch of Ithaca Phone Repair (same company as Lena Gadgets on the Commons) to transfer my apps, photos, and contacts from an old phone with a broken screen to my new phone. Three days later, I got my phone back and was pleased with the friendly service, the successful repair, and the fair price. The phone repair guy had left his gmail account signed in on the phone because he had used his google account to upload material from my old phone and transfer it to my new phone. That was no big deal, so I just signed out of his account. Then, 10 days later I realized that my phone photo gallery was STILL synced to his google photos account and that it was set to automatically upload photos taken on my phone to his account. I immediately disabled this and signed out of his google account, feeling pretty creeped out. I am willing to believe this was an innocent mistake (the alternative is unsettling), but even so, a phone repair company should understand that this is a huge violation of privacy and completely inappropriate! But it gets worse. After I removed his google account from my phone, all of my contacts (i.e. exactly what I had paid him to transfer over!) were deleted. When I brought my phone back to explain the situation (this time to the downtown location, which was more convenient for me), they caused a huge hassle with scheduling. Instead of having me drop off my phone at a time that was convenient for me, they asked me to wait until they called me to drop it off. I agreed, stipulating that it should be in the morning because my afternoon was busy. At 11:45AM I got a text asking if I could wait until the afternoon. Frustrated but wanting this fixed, I agreed but asked them to let me know what time so I could schedule my afternoon. I did not hear from them again until 4PM when they texted me asking me if I could bring my phone down right then. I went, expecting them to fix it right away (why else would I need to come at a specific time rather than just dropping off my phone any time?), but when I got there, they said they needed to keep my phone for several days to do the repair. I could not be less impressed with this company. The repair was absolutely not worth the hassle. Avoid this place if you can! read more

I somehow lost a bunch of screws from the bottom of my laptop and only noticed it because the bottom started to pop off. I went to this store to see if I could buy any tiny laptop screws and the screwdriver for them and the guy just immediately went to the back, came back with a bunch of them and screwed them into my laptop all free of charge. Seemed like a friendly place where you could get some fast help. read more

Terrible company. They advertised selling a new unlocked phone. Repeatedly assured me that it was brand new and never used. I bought it as a present for a birthday for a person who lives abroad. Well, when I gave the present it didn't work because it was locked. It turned out that it was previously rented and the subscription expired. The company said they are not responsible because they "believed" that it was new. Needless to say that it was an awful disappointment. NEVER BUY FROM THEM! Moreover, they did not refund the money. Needed my phone screen replaced. Brought it in, they gave me a time, I paid in advance. Guy made a point to ask me where my simcard was. I took it out because there is no reason for anyone to have access to my phone or files, you are fixing my phone. I come back to get it at the time the guy said it would be done, and he said I needed to wait three more hours. Okay. I kill some time and circle back over, still isn't done. Days later I pick up my phone. Good, it works. A day later the phone starts to show pressure-fritz, like colors coming out where the touch screen is messing up. This gradually envelopes my entire phone screen until it is black, leaving me with an unworking phone in the same condition I brought it in, 150 dollars and hours of time later. I ask for a refund or a replacement screen, and they have the audacity to charge me for another replacement. Obviously, I went elsewhere. I think these people are shady identity thieves who use cheap knockoff shit to fix phones. I should sue. read more

Took an iphone 6 here for screen repair... big mistake. My screen was badly cracked but still functional and I had been using it for several months.100$ replacement screen felt chintzy and unresponsive and the home button was wobbly. Within 2 weeks the screen went completely black and unresponsive. after a 70$ backlight repair, still only went to half brightness. Then I dropped the phone on wood from a short distance and the screen cracked and went black. took it to Gadget Repair Pro and paid $99 for a replacement screen that was more responsive and felt noticeably less chintzy. better to send to Apple for screen repair than take to a shop. read more
