The counter staff was very helpful explaining items on the menu. I got a half-plate of fried clams Nate really enjoyed. The onion rings were also very good. I would definitely eat here again if I was in the area. I ordered carry out, but inside seemed like a perfect place to enjoy your meal.

Nice cozy seafood restaurant and drive thru with window service and pickup plenty of seating for a nice comfortable meal. Got a lobster roll and it wasn't too big or too small was just the right size with plenty of meat both claws and body. Onion rings were perfect as well the clam plate was plenty full both a combo of fries and onion rings. The service is pickup you order your food and they give you a number everything was excellent

Got a clam plate with onion rings and both the clams and onion rings were terrific and served within 5 minutes.

Amazing lobster roll and onion rings. Get a side of melted butter to top the lobster roll with.

The food was good as always, service was pleasant, worth a stop. Tables were clean and comfortable. Selection was broad and price typical.

It is one of a handful of restaurants in Newburyport that continued strong (Park Lunch, the Grog, Thirsty Whale). It has a view of the Merrimac river and is next to the rail trail. The inside decor is classic and probably hasn't changed in decades, but it is comfortable and has that Oceanside charm. The service is always good. Christin has been our server a couple times and she is wonderful - funny, attentive and suggestions. You're always seated quickly. The food is classic. We started with their clam chowder. That is excellent. The stuffed clams are probably the best in Newburyport. The iceberg wedge salad is amazing with generous blue cheese and bacon on a nice crispy wedge. Probably one of the best values in Newburyport. The onion rings are crispy and tasty. The fried clams are some of the best in the city. You can get a Budweiser for under six dollars. The prices are a good value with lots of good food. Don't expect fancy. But if you want to have an old school seafood meal, the grog is the right place. If you want to grab a beer at there, old bar, enjoy it at a great price point.

We ordered the mussels and fish and chips. The mussels were over cooked and the white wine broth had the flavor of dishwater. Definitely the worst mussel broth I've ever had. The fish and chips were cooked properly. Meaning the fish itself was decent but the batter was flavorless. The chips were soggy. The price point is that of a good restaurant. Any other choice would be a better choice.

I enjoyed the standard plate that included a homemade biscuit the size of my head. Yes, I finished it. I mean, it was a homemade biscuit for Pete's sake! Iasked for soft poaced eggs and I got them. Lovely table service, too. Now, off to rehearsal for a film!

Our only real option was two seats at the bar. We had quick and attentive service from the bartender. Interesting offerings for cocktails, and we enjoyed our drinks. The food I think can be best described as American/Thai/Asian. Food came pretty fast, and we started with crab rangoon, and possibly the largest we have ever been served. Fried up crisp, not greasy and generously filled with cream cheese and real crab. Next up, we tried the Waygu burger which was quite good, nice toppings. My only complaint here was we wished the fries were fresh out of the fryer. I'm really fussy about fries and like them hot, crispy and fresh. Sadly, these were not. I had my eye on the Choco Taco for dessert, and this was a sophisticated version of the classic frozen treat you may have enjoyed from the ice cream truck as a kid. Home made with great ingredients, it was a perfect finish to a very nice meal. I would definitely give these guys a try when in Newburyport.
