One of my favorite local gems! This is my go to spot now for soft serve, milkshakes, and homemade hard scoops! I love the huge variety of selections that they offer! Even options for dogs! I myself order a kids soft serve, and it is still a big portion! My husband got the cherry water ice/vanilla ice cream gelato. And we got a kids vanilla for our dog! (They can also add peanut butter and a milk cone to the pup cup but we opted out of this option!) Staff members are also very nice! And they get the lines moving quickly. Portions have gotten smaller and I understand that with inflation, but can you please get my order right? I can't justify going back to get my order wrong. I love water ice and growing up in Philly I prefer local homemade water ice, so I decided to give Lena's a try. The cherry and blueberry were pretty good. Didn't enjoy the mango. Another thing to note: I was called sweetie, honey, young lady more than I could count and that's not something I prefer. Some people may find this endearing. Such a little local gem!!! This is my family's go-to for a sweet treat on a hot day. It's right up the road, has plenty of ice cream + water ice options and IMO, priced just right. I'm a sucker for a classic vanilla soft serve cone with rainbow sprinkles/jimmies. Which team are you?! But anyway, it's creamy, smooth and yummy! Pro tip: order it on a cone and then ask for a cup... best of both worlds and no rush to eat it while it melts!!!! My husband always tries something new and he hasn't had any complaints. Any advice I could give is to avoid right-after-dinner-time. I just learned of Lena's yesterday! I grew up in Glendora & have been living in Blackwood for 13 years! I watch what I eat & was hoping for frozen yogurt - no dice. I was "forced" to have ice cream so I went for a high touted one - the birthday cake. It was very good but didn't have enough chocolate cake in it :( Vince liked his chocolate chocolate chip & the cinnamon, even more so. The only thing I regret about going to Lena's is waiting so dang long from moving to Stratford to stop by! I LOVE the banana whip, which is just frozen, mashed banana, perfect for a little treat yo self without the added sugar or guilt. The ice cream and water ice are both tasty too, and it's the best place to grab a cold treat during the pandemic with the outdoor setting. I don't wish to become one of those old folks who are constantly complaining about rising prices. But....when did the gouging on frozen desserts begin, and will it ever end? It is in that spirit that I have to give this corner shop kudos and go with the fourth star. Somehow they are able to undercut all of their nearby competitors by 25% at least. But that is not what brought us here, just a friend's recommendation and Trish's concern that as a longtime resident she was unaware of its existence. It sits on a large corner lot with ample parking, but only 2 modest benches. The sign states that all Italian ice and hand scoop cream are homemade. Our first experience seems to confirm that this is the case. Trish really enjoyed the birthday cake and felt it was one of the best examples of this flavor based on recent experiences. I selected chocolate chocolate chip and of course something to contrast it with, cinnamon. The choc was very dark in color but not necessarily in flavor. It was ok but contained almost no chips. The cinnamon however was very good. Both flavors had good cream content and were not over sweetened. Our medium size cups were $3.10 and not skimpy. Of all the places we have tried in this general area, this is the one I would like to return to, water ice on order next too. read more

The young lady was in the process of making my order and I look up to see her taking the gummy bears out of the jar with her bare hands. I proceeded to tell the young lady to cancel my order and that her behavior was disgusting. I called to express my concerns to management. The same young lady answers the phones and tells me she is the manager. She was beyond rude. She told me that I could have asked for someone else to make my food rather than leave. The only place I get water ice. Other items have been great, but 99% of the time it's water ice. There is none better, do not get me wrong I am not knocking other local water ice places but this is by far the best. Many places have water ice that once it sits the frozen ice loses the color and taste at the top, Lena's stays solidly colored and tasteful at all times, even totally melted. The only downside is apparently there was only one working shake machine so it took awhile since there was a line of people waiting for shakes.
