Our experience with Hearts to Home was extremely disappointing and, at times, dangerous. Despite…read morepromises of comprehensive elder care, many of the assigned caregivers were unable or unwilling to provide the most basic services such as showering/bathing, proper hygiene support, toileting care, ambulation, or performing safe transfers. Many times, they failed to ensure timely arrival to medical appointments and offered little emotional support to their senior care customer. Worse, caregivers frequently left our loved one in bed for hours at a time without movement, preventing them from benefiting from prescribed physical and occupational therapy. Some of the caregivers made inappropriate comments to the care customer about the difficulty of lifting the patient, causing that patient both emotional harm and unnecessary guilt due to their physical handicaps. In addition, caregivers often blamed each other and avoided work altogether, expecting that someone else should handle essential tasks. Finally, several assigned caregivers were financially manipulative, mentioning how poor they were, how they were aware that others were given gifts, etc. This is unacceptable behavior from anyone entrusted with vulnerable senior individuals. When these issues were reported, management did not take timely or effective action. The negligent caregivers remained in the home even after concerns were escalated. Overall management oversight of in-home care providers was absent. As a result, medical complications worsened. Later, when new caregivers were introduced, they openly refused to assist with opposite-sex bathing, toileting, or dressing, and some refused transfers altogether, saying they were only there "to sit" with the elder. Clearly management just placed a body on site; the right fit was not a near term concern. On top of the poor care, the company made many questionable billings, including overbilling hours not worked and mistakenly double charging. Supporting detailed invoices were rarely communicated on a timely basis adding financial stress to an already unacceptable situation. Invoices required subsequent audits to verify accuracy. Errors were eventually corrected in the months following customer payment. The company publicly states that its mission is to help people with personal challenges remain in their homes by providing care with comfort, dignity, respect, and love. Sadly, these values were rarely reflected in the care we experienced. Instead, what we saw was neglect, lack of respect, and a false sense of compassion. If you are seeking only casual companionship for your loved one, this agency may suffice. But if you are looking for legitimate, consistent, and professional care, I strongly recommend that you perform detailed due diligence and reference checks on each proposed caregiver. The lack of accountability, oversight, and adherence to their own stated mission put our loved one at risk, and no family should have to go through the same experience.

I would be very careful considering this company. Although I don't have specific information about…read morethis company, the business is owned by the same person who owns all the Elizabeth Residence facilities. My father was abused and neglected at the Elizabeth Residence in Franklin. Multiple incidents were captured on video. The owner downplayed the incidents and employees are still employed. Please do a search on Elizabeth Residence on YouTube to view a few of the videos. The owner claimed it was a "training issue" but if you do your research on the state of Wisconsin websites, you'll see this owner was fined for employees not completing mandatory training. Also, please do a search on Wisconsin Circuit Court to review past and current lawsuits (search 'Business Name'). Again, I don't have any experience with this specific service but I have had the most horrific experience with this owner. If you do choose to go with this company, I'd suggest having multiple Ring cameras set up (mine was stolen). Also document EVERYTHING. Try and get it all in writing and be sure to save any texts, emails and especially voicemails. It will make everything so much easier to report to the State, Police or attorney if you have issues.
