Years of sitting on the floor with my laptop, hunching over drawings and general disregard left me…read morewith an achy body and a collapsed S-curve... so much so that when I went to an acupuncture office they asked me if I was in a serious car accident! Bummer. I felt all out-of-whack in my own body and needed to be realigned. My understanding of Rolfing as a discipline was next to none, other than a familiarity to the name when I would see ads in Whole Life Times Mag. Yet I found myself looking up rolfers on yelp and Rolfworks/Lynn looked best with all glowing reviews. Sounds good to me. I called to make an appointment and the next one for new clients was in 2 months! Say what?!?! I was in pain but in demand means quality work right? Ok sign me up! I will wait.. and I am so glad I did. Lynn practices out of her home on the eastside of town. The spacious treatment room located upstairs is very clean and inviting. She's got a warm, quiet, grounded demeanor... a practitioner you can really open up and trust. I just completed the 10 Session series with Lynn and while my posture is not perfect, she's worked miracles on it. My sessions were never painful and I always walk out of her purple victorian feeling rejuvenated. You know when a healer has that magic touch... an intuitive knowing of which spot to press and work on? Lynn's got that gift and combined with a deep understanding of her craft and continuously learning new skills (she's always taking new classes)... it's a stellar combination. My last session was a few weeks ago and I am still feeling the benefits of her work on a daily basis. She's taught me exercises to do at home to strengthen my legs and feet, as well being more aware of my body in space. My fascia/connective tissues are so so thankful for her gentle and powerful touch. I am standing taller, walking better all because of her. If your body is needing a little or a ton of TLC... Lynn's your girl. And when you arrive for your appointment and see the big black dog chillin' by the door? Don't be scared... she's a sweetie. Open the door and Lynn will greet you with a smile and help you along your merry way... with more spring in your step!

As a musician with a host of playing related aches and pains, I've tried many different types of body work over the years. Admittedly, some have worked better for me than others. Rolfing has been a great discovery - and not just Rolfing, but specifically LYNN! She is kind, generous, intuitive, wise, gentle and just an all around wonderful person! She takes the time to figure out exactly what is going on with you in particular. Her work is methodical and she explains exactly what she's doing, how it all works, what it may feel like, how it will help ... she's truly one of a kind! Every time I leave a session with Lynn I feel like a new person. I'm a little more dialed in with how to use my body and how to use it to avoid injury ... and I sleep like a baby that night, too! Lynn is without question, the best!

I have always had a 9 out of 10 experience with ATI around the Tacoma and University Place WA area…read more However, lately, my son experienced some strange behaviors from a PT saying her name was Ann We, I believe is it Ann WU, so you can imagine not even getting the right name there was issues.. The clinic director had us move to another location, instead of honoring his word of my son would not be treated from this Ann. She always had an attitude, but when someone is in a walker already, weak legs after severe malnutrition took all his muscles away, she wanted him to go up and down a lot of steps without any safety holding on to the rails. Also she is leaving this area, and told my son he was being discharged. Then for 3 weeks was all she was left and he was to face her again when her first words are we are going to do something different today?? I felt she was responsible for harming his left weak knee after the stair incident with new trials of something, so I totally supported my son to let's go. The clinic didn't follow through with our conversation to just avoid. She is leaving. So instead, we left to another location I guess so they can keep their image even tho Ann is leaving end of his week. Why do companies do that?? Why do they keep the ones that cause issues. No one else in 4 months had one issue with my son, nor he them So am hoping this next location works better for my son to getting his strength back. It's been a long enough recovery for him, he is doing great, but why do people have to cause issues and speak out of line. There is no discharge anytime soon. This was NOT a communication issue. It's just the same, get rid of the one causing no harm, so the one who does gets to stay. No matter what area or work place, why does this continue?? The star would be a 4 or 5 from my experiences and his experience up to few weeks ago. Now the whole schedule, the planning to rearrange everyone's elses schedule to fit in the new ATI therapy place has to be done. Why are we the ones going through all these changes and possibly having to hire outside the hours we already had scheduled. Oh the clinic director scheduled through December. Telling them I did that. No, I scheduled 6 weeks in advance and had no issues over the last few months. Ann had them deleted. Pecking order of boss vs worker seemed to have over rid somewhere???

They kept me motivated to put in the work and get better. After the 6 week program, I'm pain free and now have a detailed plan for me to continue strengthening at home so it doesn't come back.

I was a patient here for around 18 months and saw 2 different providers, both of which failed to demonstrate trauma informed practice. After thousands of dollars spent, I would like you to learn from my experience. Dr. Caroline recommended a book for further information. I was told each chapter started with a story, and before purchasing, I wanted to know if there was a trigger warning as I could not handle any content related to sexual violence or a traumatizing pap smear. Even after repeatedly discussing what trigger warnings are and why they are so valuable, Dr. Caroline did not investigate the book for such warnings. I mentioned this to Dr. Lauryn later, but she had stated that she would not advise on or investigate reference material trigger warnings for future patients. Her reasons are unknown to me but researching those would be invaluable to patients like me and contribute to trauma-informed practice. Before one session my partner and I were rear-ended on our way to the clinic. Dr. Caroline did not account for this going into or check in with me during the appointment, resulting in me experiencing a pain level that was much greater than what we had agreed to. My partner was there with me and on our way home stated: "Dr. Caroline was different today, should I have said something? She was really pressuring you." It is important to recognize the ways trauma history and current mental state can impair communication. This, along with the power imbalance within the appointment, can easily lead to harm if providers are not trauma informed. Dr. Caroline and I set up a communication plan afterwards, but she was inconsistent in following through on it. Furthermore, Dr. Caroline, encouraged disassociation between my mind and body to complete hands-on homework assignments. This setback my progress and I spent several sessions with Dr. Lauryn trying to overcome this ill-informed treatment plan. After I switched to Dr. Lauryn, a clear indicator that this too was not a good fit was when she did not respect my "no" during a conversation. That stuck with me because if she can't respect my "no" during a conversation, how can I expect her to respect my "no" during a hands-on situation. My goal for my final conversation with Dr. Lauryn was to get reassurance that no one else will have the same negative experiences I have had. I did not get this reassurance and, unfortunately, that is why I am posting this. Dr. Caroline and Dr, Lauryn, I mean no ill-intent. You just have a lot more trauma informed education needed to call yourselves trauma informed. One resource I highly recommend is the School of Consent.

Dr. Paul provides a safe, understanding, sympathetic, private practice, and always accompanies his diagnosis with standard treatment suggestions in addition to recommendations. He is the first Doctor I have ever had that concentrated on wellness of the mind, body, and soul. Seriously, he is the first doctor that ever made me feel like I was more than just another patient. I can't say enough about his care. From entering his office and working with his kind assistant to the cleanliness and order of his treatment room, all the way to the check out process - his office and professionalism is second to none. As for the care he provided I truly appreciated his approach of treating me as a whole, not a collection of potentially disparate problems. Since he is a one doctor practice he seems to be able to manage his time in such a way that he gives himself time to think and focus on me as his patient - no hurried review of my file as he scampers from his previous patient in the next room, and therefore no rush out the door to his next patient. That's really amazing, and not like the typical doctor. He truly cares about me as a patient and as an individual. I was extremely impressed! Dr. Paul is a higher standard of health care, and I hope his model is the future of the medical industry!"
