I walked in the other day while on the hunt for healthy bagels and was immediately treated by a super kind and welcoming lady. Right away she asked if she could help me find something particular and showed me her bagel section. I picked up pack of frozen keto-friendly bagels, which get this... are have only 70 calories and 37 g carbs while boasting a whopping 32 grams of fiber and 9 grams protein! I also also purchase a 3-pack of keto-friendly pancakes as well. I had one of the bagels for breakfast morning and it was an absolute delight. It toasted up golden brown, had a great crunch and left me satiated yet not overly full or sluggish. After a light dinner on Merrick Road with friends from LI, nothing beats swinging by a classic mom-and-pop ice cream shop. Wife and I plus our two kiddos decided to check out Lengo's. We were curious about their menu, and after a quick look and a few samples, we were sold. We went for a large ice cream with three flavors: Cookie Monster, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, and Mint Chocolate Chip. All were solid choices! Cookie Monster's a rich chocolate ice cream packed with Oreo chunks, brownies, fudge, and chocolate crunch...definitely a treat. Nothing like hitting up a good ol' mom & pop-style ice cream shop after a light dinner on Merrick Rd! My friend and I decided to pop in to Lengo's to investigate their menu - needless to say, after a look around and a few samples, we were sold! We ended up splitting a large ice cream (up to three flavors) and packed in our $4 treat with cookie monster, chocolate chip cookie dough, and mint chocolate chip. We got a disproportionally large heaping of cookie monster (the first flavor we mentioned to the server), which my friend wasn't too fond of, but was fine by me! Cookie monster is a chocolate ice cream infused with Oreo's, brownies, fudge, and chocolate crunch, and BOY was that delicious! The mint chocolate chip was decent, but the chocolate chip cookie dough was SEVERELY lacking in cookie dough. I have been going to this place for years ever since I can remember. We even had class trips in elementary school. I love their soft serve frozen yogurt and healthy options but nothing beats their delicious and healthy classic yogurt cakes. Everything is reasonably priced and guilt free!! It is a tradition in my family to get these cakes for most birthdays. With all of the self-serve overpriced yogurt places popping up, I am so happy that this place is still thriving! Lengo's is a hometown favorite for those who grew up in Merrick. I remember coming here every year to celebrate soccer seasons regardless if we won the championship or lost every game; it was the home of all. They had pictures of all of the teams which makes it feel very homey and local. There are places around Long Island with many more flavors and variations, but you come here for some good old fashioned ice cream with your best neighborhood friends. read more

Great place for health food and attentive staff. Came here looking for a ice cream cake after another local place, Moolala, was out of birthday cakes. I called ahead and the owner said come over we have a few to choose from. I arrived and the owners immediately helped me out. While I was there, I checked the other health food they have and I was impressed. The food you find here is like Trader Joe's or a Whole Foods. Been going here for years and it's because it's easily the best ice cream place in town. The owners are always friendly. They have low-fat yogurt options and a wide variety of ices and ice creams. The ice cream textures are amazing and they're packed with just the right amount of that extra good stuff like oreo or peanut butter pieces.
