I've had my ups and downs in this area of preventative medicine. Too much info for this review. After a mix up with an appointment I was fed up and stopped going in my later years. So now the torch has been passed to my daughter. She also has what they call dense breast tissue. In the past couple years she has been followed up more frequently. This type of breast tissue requires a mammogram and sonogram annually. She was given a Saturday appointment at 12:10pm. After the mammogram she was told she needed to return because the doctor doesn't work on Saturdays and needs to do the sonogram. Now she must take off from work and return this week. Why did they schedule it for this time? Plus they close at 1pm on Saturdays! Not enough time scheduled for both tests. Bottom line here are the good points: 1. Professional technicians. 2. Convenient Locations. 3. Accepts all types of insurance. 4. They were good at keeping my medical history. 5. Billing department pretty easy to work with. DOWN SIDE Issues with communication between locations. Miscommunication regarding appointments. I arrived the day of my last appointment only to be told I had cancelled it the day before. IT WASN'T ME that cancelled it. After that I felt insecure about the safety of their information system. PS They did see me that day but I had to verify all my information again. They should have known it wasn't me that cancelled my original appointment! This location: 1. The waiting area is a lot smaller but it's bright and new. Only radiology patients in this area and lots of sanitizer around. 2. Reception employee was very nice. 3. Good suggestion from technician. The technician says she usually brings a little travel deodorant with her which is a good idea. Especially if you're going somewhere after the test!!

The best part is that I could choose my own music through the MRI procedure which is annoyingly loud so that's a godsend. Would recommend again!! The only problem Inhave is that there are like 3 names for the place so it's a little confusing when you walk in but they're all the same place.

The receptionists were so knowledgeable, and this made a big difference. They asked for my doctor, the prescription, and checked on a pre-authorization with my insurance. This stuff normally takes 3 weeks, and they helped me get it done in 2 calls over 2 days. Full disclaimer: this was already in progress with another radiology center, but they took this over and got things done. They also gave me a fixed estimate out-of-pocket and through insurance. Check-in was 2 forms basically asking about allergies and metal implants. The nurse and technician were both friendly and professional, and they tried to make the experience as comfortable as possible. My appointment was for 4pm, towards closing, and there was no delay. In fact, they were early! I waited 2 minutes before getting called into the room. It was 3:50pm when I got changed and 3:55pm when I started the exam. I was out of there at 4:25pm. That was also impressive. I am struggling with headaches, hence the needed brain MRI. The last thing you want to deal with is confusing estimates, rude staff, and months waiting for an appointment - that was my experience at NYU Langone. I waited 2 months for an appointment and then had to keep moving the appointment because they gave me 11 different estimates for the same exam - anywhere from $400 to $2400. Again, this is NYU Langone. So I'm really glad I found Carnegie Hill Radiology!!! As a freestanding facility, their cost is also much lower. Several doctors recommended them, and my insurance did as well.

I entered on 5th Ave. There were no employees assigned to reception, no customer service. Finally, I stopped a person in scrubs and they pointed me to a narrow down escalator to MC Level. I tried calling for directions several times but couldn't get a person on the phone. Once on the MC level, I went to (the wrong) radiology dept. That receptionist couldn't find my name in the system and walked me over to Nuclear Medicine. Their receptionist found me in the system and gave me good directions. She said she has to do this every day. I finally arrived to a packed waiting room. Receptionists here handle all the paperwork and collect co-pays, but couldn't give me any estimate on when I would be seen. I had my test within 10 minutes of making my copay, about 25 minutes from arrival. The experience trying to find the place and lack of customer service in the building left a very negative impression.

Then the radiology department reception was incompetent. Then u r ushered to another waiting area.
