    Goodies for $20 total!

For the same price as the psuedo fancy coffees and teas that you can buy at Target, you can get some GENUINE fancypants coffee and tea stuffs at Heirloom Coffee. Why buy the stuff that's one step up from Folgers when you can get "a fabulous mix of high-altitude, shade-grown Robusta Peaberry, Dalat Bourbon Arabica, and rare Excelsa beans"? Fancy. pants. I bought the Indochine Gold blend for $6.50. This stuff is Vietnamese coffee and therefore, according to the very knowledgeable owner, has low acidity and bolder, richer flavors than your average American blend. I also bought some wonderful teas: jasmine, lotus, and even artichoke ($3.95, $2.95, $4.75). And some chocolate covered coffee beans ($5.95). The best part was when the owner came out with a vat of tea from the back that had been brewing for a couple hours; a big brown blossom bobbed in the glass container holding the tea. It looked like an upside down water lily. It was beautiful albeit kinda alien; I bet it would scare children if used as a center piece (as suggested by the owner). He let me try it; it was delicious! Very floral and not bitter despite sitting for over an hour. The place itself is not really set up as a retail store and more as a front for their online store. You need to ring the doorbell to be let in. They do sell mostly Vietnamese coffee and green or herbal teas of which there's only a shelf or two of merchandise. The owner is amazing, and I am so happy that he gets to work on his life's passion. Note: I know nothing about coffee, and it was obvious. The owner never made me feel like I ought to know anything more than what I know. He just wanted to share the joy he has for the drinks he sells. When I need coffee and tea, I will order from Heirloom Coffee. Disclaimer: I bought a Groupon now deal where I got an AMAZING deal, but I would gladly have spend the prices listed above (the regular prices are listed) for what I bought.

Awesome hand roasted coffee. Their little spot across from the train station has great Vietnamese coffee.

The woman who took my order offered me a sample of a sweet Brazilian bite (I picked the salted caramel) which was truly DECADENT. She also offered for me to sample the coffee I ordered since it was on tap. Food: Eggcelent breakfast sandwich - honestly lives up to the name, I opted for the English muffin and did add on chipotle mayo and swap the cheese from pepper jack to cheddar. Was absolutely scrumptious. Perfectly hit the spot. 10/10 would recommend. Choco coco loco acai bowl - a solid Acai bowl, plenty of toppings, well balanced, would recommend. Traditional cheese bites - these are just heavenly balls of fluffy cheesy dough, you will absolutely not regret ordering these Value: On par with inflation while serving great quality food. Other: Street parking nearby is limited but worth a short walk. Overall thoroughly enjoyed the food and experience ordering from Grounder Cafe. Their menu has a lot of interesting stuff you don't find at other cafes, it's definitely worth checking out!

I had a cortado, and it was absolutely delicious -- balanced, smooth, and dialed in perfectly. If you care about flavor and craftsmanship in the cup, this place delivers every time. A quick note: the shop itself is small, with some standing room but no chairs or tables. It's not a spot to study or work from -- it's a grab-your-coffee-and-go kind of place. But for the coffee alone? Completely worth the five stars.

Good prices as well, around $5-7 range which is common for a solid coffee shop. Flannel Latte ordered iced: Good quality espresso very smooth not over or under extracted, I enjoyed the cracked allspice and maple and found they paired very well with the drink, not too milky or overbearing espresso, just a well rounded cup. My mom ordered a wet cappuccino: classic latte art that was nice to look at, perfect foam, very light rounded espresso flavor throughout due to the extra foam my mom likes. I enjoyed this hot drink on a cold day like today. I do wish there were a bit more coffee bags and the tasting notes/info/source was a bit bigger more direct on the bag kind if how jejes bags are but this is just a very minor preference. I would love to come back and try more!

Wait time was about 15 min, which they tell you as soon as you order. The wait was well worth it. I got a hot hojicha latte and it is one of the best I have tried. We walked into a space that mixes communal tables, stadium-style seating, and smaller spots to sit, making it a place where you can stop in for a quick drink or stay longer with a laptop. The interior design is one of the biggest highlights, giving the cafe a more elevated experience compared to a typical coffee shop. The tiered seating in particular creates a visual dynamic that makes the room feel more intentional than your standard coffee counter. The drinks are the main focus here, especially the matcha, hojicha, and espresso-based options. We ordered the hojicha latte, which was one of the strongest items on the menu, with a deep roasted flavor and a smooth texture. The matcha has a more traditional earthy profile and leans less sweet, which works well if you prefer a more authentic matcha taste. The drinks are on the expensive side, but the quality of the ingredients and preparation make it feel more like a specialty cafe experience rather than a standard coffee stop. The food and dessert options add another reason to visit, with items like the egg sandwich, quiche, macarons, and hojicha desserts available depending on the day. The menu is smaller compared to a full brunch cafe, but it pairs well with the drinks and gives the visit more of a cafe-and-pastry feel. Service is friendly and the staff are knowledgeable about the drinks, which helps when choosing between the different Japanese tea options. The cafe can get busy, and seating is limited compared to the number of people who come through, but the layout gives it a unique character. Ogawa Coffee works well for specialty coffee and tea lovers looking for a more intentional cafe experience in Boston, especially if you enjoy Japanese-style drinks and a thoughtfully designed space.
