I am truly baffled by my experience here today that I am sitting in the parking lot writing this review and I NEVER write reviews. This location had abosolutley ZERO customer service. Firstly, I walk in and no one greets or approaches me. Ok whatever NBD. So then, I approach the front desk to pick up an online order and the manager at the cash register, Sheri, seems rather taken aback by my presence. Asks what I need, tell her my name for a pick up order. She proceeds to collect my order and hand it to me, which at that point, not sure if she just expected me to leave without recieving a fitting check and cleaning, because she seemed like that was the end of the interaction?!! I proceed to ask her if they do not check fittings and measurements for new glasses purchased and she says "Well you have to tell me if you can see out of them." Like what?? Everytime I have purchased glasses from ANYWHERE, whether an online order pickup OR instore, the sales associate sits me down with my order, measures the glasses with some kind of instrument to ensure they fit correctly, cleans them, tightens them, etc. The fact I wasnt even offered that is crazy. Especially considering this was the MANAGER who was helping me. To add- I also brought in a pair purchased online that was delivered to me yesterday to recieve a proper fitting. Anyways, I put both of my glasses on, she says they look centered, she tightens them both for me, I ask if they have cleaning products, purchase them, and leave, feeling super taken aback by the utter lack of customer service. Why was I doing all of the asking and taking regarding my glasses purchases?! She just seemed totally indifferent to my presence, purchase, and the need for a proper fitting and adjustment to ensure my glasses fit correctly- because I recieved none of that service. Suffice it to say, this interaction left such a sour taste in my mouth. I will definitley not be back here nor give LensCrafters my business again. Im debating returning both pairs ordered and taking my business elsewhere. Recieving this customer service after spending almost $2,000 on two pairs of glasses is insane. LensCrafters - do better customer service training and make sure your managers dont act like their customers are an inconvience when they come in to recieve their glasses ordered. But yeah, will not give this location nor company my business again. read more

VISION QUEST Optometry visits can result in eye-popping expenses, but at least this Bolingbrook LensCrafters treats you nicely. I'm grateful to be blessed with a number of things in life; decent eyesight, unfortunately, is not one of them, and so I rely on corrective lenses to see stuff properly. Many years ago I was a customer at a crappy PearlVision before moving (and upgrading) to a LensCrafters in River Forest. Relocating to B-brook, I found this eye care center conveniently inside the Promenade, right off of Boughton. Scheduling an appointment was easy breezy, and they called me a day prior to confirm. I showed up at the designated time and was greeted right away. Kasey was very sweet, she handled the first part of the eye exam ("see that red balloon in the distance?") before an older gentleman took over the more involved bits (including the tonometry test, a.k.a. tiny puffs that startle the bejeezus out of you). Joan assisted me with the financials, and aside from a slow computer at checkout, everything went smoothly. EyeMed insurance picked up $130 from the contacts and $59 from the vision exam/evaluation, not too bad. Contacts were delivered to the house less than a week after my appointment, and the temporary 1-day lenses they gave me in the interim were great. I find it hilarious that my previous LensCrafters in River Forest was listed on Yelp as '$$$$' -- the highest level -- indicating an upscale or "splurge-like" experience. I'll admit that LC isn't cheap, but it's far from outrageous and certainly not the uber-expensive place others have made it out to be. This location is marked as '$$', right on the money. * TL;DR * Start to finish, I was here for just over an hour with a nominal amount of waiting. I had good conversations with the staff, everyone was professional and polite. Last week, I ran into some problems with one of my Acuvue Oasys contact lenses, but it turned out to be an isolated issue (strangely enough, I never in my life encountered a defect with contacts before this). I'd planned on closing this one out with a joke about having "renewed 2020 vision", though that implies I have the gift of foresight and I seriously doubt ANYONE, soothsayer or not, could have predicted this totally f*cked-up calendar year. I'm just waiting for the Election Day asteroid to hit and render all of this moot. read more

I speed through traffic to get there on time from work only to find out, that they can only see one of us because they are running behind. What kind of business makes appointments with patients and them turns them down just because of their incompetence? We recently needed to get glasses and for to work with some other staff and everyone was great. My son and I both picked up our prescriptions in 6 days time. Came here after work as my glasses had broken earlier that day. They did have a record on file for me but was from 8 years ago was told I would need a new prescription as per Illinois law. I was able to get in within an hour. Kim was very helpful in explaining everything and going over everything. The staff was fantastic as was the doctor who took great care in the appointment. Afterwards Kim helped me again after I picked out my new glasses with getting everything set up. I would highly recommend coming here for glasses. What's the point in entering your insurance information upon making an appointment if they don't even look at it prior to your arrival?!? I confirmed with my insurance that this place is covered. Made an appointment for myself and my husband, and when we got there was told that they were not within network with my insurance. We would have had to pay $60 per exam not including any glasses or contacts. We left the store and sat in the car to again verify with my insurance that they WERE in fact covered. Before going back, I called LensCrafters and notified the store ophtho tech who notified the store manager of the verification, and was told by the store manager again that they would not take our insurance. My favorite place even though my astigmatism and vision are not so good! Dr. Lezondra is the BEST! I highly recommend her. She is a subject matter expert on her craft. Loving my new glasses which has all the bells and whistles and the blue technology that is better for your eyes especially if you work in front of a computer all day and obsessed with social media! The staff is very helpful additionally! I did not have my updated insurance card and they were able to assist with looking up that information. Of course, when this location busy - they are busy! If ordering contacts, just get it sent directly to your home so you don't have to come back and wait just to grab your contacts. Take care of your eyes! Stopped in for an eye exam and some new specs on March 14th. Dr. was great, people that helped me were great, frames that I picked were great and that's where it ends. Unfortunately the store closed down due to the Covid-19 pandemic and I can't get an answer from the store or customer service on where my glasses that I paid for are and how I can get them. read more

My temperature was taken upon arrival. I was promptly directed to the exam room with the technician. She was very friendly. I did not have to wait to see the doctor after that. I went on a Monday, that is probably the best time to go - I've been coming to other LensCrafters for years, and from experience it's much busier on the weekends. Dr B Lezondra was pleasant and professional. Everything was so quick but also efficient from start to finish with all of the staff members. First of all, I completely enjoyed having my optical appointment there with Dr. Ostbloom. Great eye doctor! I will likely be back to have my eye exam with her next year thanks to her great patient care and kindness. I will recommend her to anyone! Now on to the store portion of LensCrafters. Two thumbs way down. Overpriced and not willing to work with you. Here's my story-- I called the store to buy my year's supply of contacts. Before my insurance they quoted me somewhere in the $520-$540 range WITH discounts for buying an annual supply. However, what they didn't know was that I had priced out the contacts on LensCrafters.com before calling. LensCrafters.com offered me the exact same contacts before insurance at $422. I informed them of this and they said they don't price match websites. Uhh...it's not like it's a random website-- it's YOUR website. Nope, sorry, they don't price match. Can I speak to someone about that? Nope? Oh, okay. Sorry, not buying from you. Didn't even buy from LensCrafters.com after that poor customer service. Seriously, you expected me to pay $100 more than on YOUR website? $100?! That's not a small chunk of change! You may want to rethink your business practices. I wound up buying my contacts somewhere else for $386 before insurance benefits. Thanks for forcing me to look around, I'm glad I got a better deal! read more

The staff can't tell me if or when they will have my glasses in. I spent $687 after insurance and it was a joke. I told the manager that check me in on the 6th five time and could not get my phone number right and if I ask them a question they tell me they will call me back . Sometimes they never did. Worst experience getting glasses in 30+ years. I was outright lied to twice as to delivery of my glasses prescription. Don't go here and be fooled into a false delivery day by the inept staff. After finally getting a refund, I was able to order/receive the SAME glasses/lens for $50 less. read more

We have never see a sales person run around , welcoming new patients, answering phones , paperwork , helping selection of glasses and finish a sale . Cindy is the best sales person we have ever had she gets 5 stars . There is 1 negative We did see , as she is running around Other staff are just standing around . 1 young lady and 1 male . I recently went in to this location to have my glasses adjusted from an online order with a company that they contract with. I was much more impressed than I expected to be. Everyone was very friendly, especially Cindy, who helped me make the glasses work to the best of their ability despite the fact I mistakenly ordered a frame with a shorter temple length. We also went thru a few frames just for kicks and found a couple of them that I liked and fit much better for me. Too bad, I can't get them until the beginning of 2018. But the minute I'm eligible, I may just come back here with my Rx. I'm a stickler for customer service and it was done very well here. read more

Very thorough exam with Dr. Rena Ostbloom. She explained everything she was looking at in the images taken during the eye scan, and gave recommendations based on my family history of macular degeneration. The Sales Mgr, Zach, pulled some great frame options for me to try-- I wound up buying one of those, not one of the frames I found. I'm looking forward to getting my new glasses in 2weeks! read more

I was just there, at this location today. I had a HUGE problem (my glasses were broken on Sunday) My glasses were broken, I cannot drive at night without them. I explained to the WONDERFUL STAFF at the LensCrafters in Bolingbrook what had happened and they weren't sure they could help me right away (as they'd changed their policies on ordering new lenses) I didn't know. But sure enough! They had my prescription lenses and were able to fit me for new frames and everything!! They were so nice and helpful to me in my time of serious need. I came once again for my annual eye exam on and to get a new pair of glasses. I left a very happy customer. Their customer service is superb. The optometrist who took care of me was phenomenal! I'm going to see her next year for my eye exams, because she was wonderful. I cannot remember her at this time, but I believe she's the supervisor optometrist? She was wonderful. I've tried to use this LensCrafters in Bolingbrook for over a year now. Whenever I call them, I immediately get put on hold (fine), but then it always results in someone picking up the phone and then hanging up on me. Literally every time I've called this has happened. I've had to call back 3-4 times and listen to their "beep beep beep" dial tone each time I'm on hold before I finally can talk to someone. I tried getting new glasses from them last year. I went through a couple of rounds of ordering glasses. The first time, the frames were too big for the lenses, resulting in them popping out as I was about to walk out the door. I had to argue with the manager because she didn't see an issue with that. I exchanged those for my second choice, and when those came, the lenses were way too thick for the frame. Both times, no one knew how to fit glasses to my face. I sat there for over an hour both times while workers tried to fit them to no avail. Finally I returned them after a few days and went back to Wheaton Eye Clinic for glasses. I was still ordering my contacts through this LensCrafters, but I'm going back to Wheaton Eye Clinic with that as well because I just got hung up on again for the second time today. First, I have been using Lens crafters for over 30 years. Every Other Visit is a disaster. First, Dr's are the best I have ever met (Ostbloom, Lezondra), no complaints, ever. The store is HORRIBLE. WAY overpriced, rip you off, lenses are no longer made in store, now store closed down due to virus, cannot get ANY human on the phone, 6 days to return an email complaint without a solution, still don't have glasses I paid for($$$) Went in for 2 exams, daughter and I. was told to cancel mine, wasn't due yet, so was just gonna buy glasses off old prescription, Can't, scrip was not written for bifocals, was told I would need an exam, which they cancelled! Daughter got exam and ordered glasses, now store is closed, and no info on where her glasses are. Year 2020, can't ship them to home? Will NEVER go back to this store or Lenscrafters again. Buyer beware. This place will rip you off. Advise...go to a local optometrist...they carry designer frames and can make your glasses quickly. This place charges for every single add-on, anti-reflective coatings, scratch coatings, lightweight lenses, blah, blah, blah... They are basically sales people not exactly the people who should be taking care of your vision. Optometrists care about your eyesight and aren't that greedy. This Lenscrafter quotes you one price and then you find out you owe them twice as much as what they told you in the first place...the commercials of their competitors are true...get it on video and a recording...
