Update: Had to return to have my glasses adjusted and everyone was much friendlier. Really appreciate it :) Went in to drop off my new frames I bought elsewhere to get lenses put in. The only reason I came here was because no other eyeglass place would accept the risk of doing the job due to the high value of the frames. One place recommended I bring them here. They have a nice selection of designer frames; Burberry, Prada, dolce and gabbana, etc. The assistant manager has the approachability of a cactus. When I walked in she asked what I was there for. I told her I wanted to drop off my frames to get lenses, she then asked for my account info to which I told her I had not been in before and she scolds me since I had apparently been incorrect in how I said it. Throughout the 35 minutes I spent there, I repeatedly tried to make conversation over details I could tell about her and our common interests and I basically got one word answers. There is something wrong when as a customer, you are friendlier to the employee than they are to you. When I called a few days earlier to find out if I could come in she just kept repeating that they wouldn't be liable for any damage to my frames, like, no, I get it. The only reason I came here was for convenience. Poor customer service though. Update.... After receiving my glasses and being unhappy with how the lenses look, I have tried for over a week to get in touch with the manager, who is clearly not managing the place. I finally called my good old LensCrafters in boca and spoke to their extremely helpful, and kind manager, Juan. He gave me all the info I needed and even offered to help me at their location. read more

I really like Dr. Cohen who did a great eye exam and let me know I have a scar on the back of one eyeball. My other usual eye doctor in Palm Beach Eyes never mentioned it. I took off a star because the eye exam room could have been a bit cleaner. There was a dent in the wall with some peeling wall paper. I feel like Dr. Cohen took his time to explain to me that cataracts are usual and not to worry about them unless glasses won't correct them, which my other doctor didn't tell me. Dr. Cohen really cares. They don't offer the retina photograph that is a more high tech way to keep a record of the retina however. I was given a prescription for distance glasses and when I got it filled I couldn't see well at all with them. I then learned from my other eye doctor I didn't need distance glasses at all. So I guess I will stay with my other eye doctor. read more

December, 2023 I purchased two sets of glasses from Lenscrafters, 708 Boynton Beach Blvd, Boynton Beach, Fl. Returned to pick them up was told only one pair was ready, so I returned one week later to retrieve the second pair. The second pair was exclusively for reading. After about two weeks I noticed the reading glasses focused at different distances from my eyes. I returned to Lenscrafters to ask what could be done to correct the focus issue and was told I needed a new eye examine because maybe my eye prescription had changed. And I would have to pay for the new examine. I asked about a guarantee and was informed only the lens and frames have guarantees. I guess it was my fault the prescription was incorrect. Buyer beware they will up charging you. They don't want you to use your insurance and claimed they would have a better price. I was quoted a price of $380 dollars using insurance and they were $10 below. I came home and order the same frames, lenses with better progressive on their website (without all the extras they added without informing me) for $220. Went to get my eyes checked was told by the staff (over the phone) that my insurance was accepted. When I got there I was told my "copay" would be $91. I paid it because I was already there and trusted the staff. Just got off the phone with my insurance and they told me nothing was ran through their system. They said I was lied to by staff and it appears I was charged as a private pay client as they consider LensCrafters out of network. Also, another appointment was taken while my eyes dilated and I waited around for 40+ minutes because of poor time management. Through the doctor apologized I was very disoriented and didn't want to argue. Just a bad experience as a 8+ year customer with LenCrafters I'll be going elsewhere permanently regardless of my insurance. read more

First let me say that Dr. Cortez, is very very sweet, this review is in no way towards her it is towards the staff specifically Bruce who did nothing to try to accommodate me he didn't do anything to go out of the way for the customer, which gives a very bad reflection upon the store. I purchased contact lenses I have mono vision I were two different strengths, the prescription for the right , he didn't even ask the higher management he just said there is nothing he could do absolutely no customer service and the guy had absolutely no personality was not strong enough I was told I could go back and exchange for the higher strength, I went today with five unopened lenses and was told by Bruce he couldn't do anything to help me because the box was open , obviously the box will be open I had to take one out and put it in my eye and that's how I realized it wasn't the right strength, alert alert alert one 800 contacts exchanges contacts no questions asked, they also give you a contact lens container in the box, I should've stayed with one 800 contacts, LensCrafters lost a customer and they need to get a employee with a backbone, who goes above and beyond to satisfy the customer, and if he can't go as an ass the higher ups to keep not only the customer but do the right thing as promised! I've been going to see Dr. Cohen at this office for over 10 years. He's awesome! His staff has clearly changed over the years but I've never had an issue. Everyone has always been very knowledgeable and helpful. I've called to get new trial contacts even after receiving the ones at my appt and walk in, pick them up and walk out. My appt usually take a hour and a half and that's with me having difficult eye issues. After my appt I order my contacts with the staff at the LensCrafters and get my contacts pretty quickly, usually within 5 days. I also got my glasses here and I've had them for the past 5 years. I've gone in to have them tighten (I fall asleep in them ) and it's super fast, I would say less than 30 mins. I've even gone to see Dr. Cohen for eye ulcers (I forget to take out my contacts) and they do an amazing job taking care of all my eye issues. Seeing that their posted hours today were 12-6, I drove there wanting to replace a lens that had fallen out of my frame. As I pulled up, it was dark and appeared closed but I knocked anyway. I was about to leave when someone from inside approached the door, opened it and said "sorry - we're closed". I said, "but I can't see because I broke my frame". He then asked me to give him my frame and suggested I wait in my car. After about 5 minutes, he came to my car and handed my repaired glasses back to me with a smile and just said "here you go - no charge!" I walked in some months ago because my cheater frames were crooked and I was looking for a little repair kit. The friendly man behind the counter was assisting another customer but asked to be pardoned for a moment as the man considered his choices, asked to look at my frames, quickly fix them for me and wished me to have a nice day, no charge. I do have full insurance to cover my eyes and will be looking to come here first and give them my business just because that man gave up his time so generously, acted concisely as if I was a long time customer without judgment while simultaneously making his original customer continue to feel taken care of. Due to defective frames, i was given a warranty letter that had to be honored at lenscrafters, and not at my usual eyewear provider. I had never been a customer of lenscrafters. Without any hesitation they honored the warranty from luxoticca and made me new glasses with the frames i picked out. No charge and done the same day. Excellent service read more

My wife and I had appointments for an eye exam at the "LensCrafters, the Gateway center" in Boynton Beach, Florida. What we received was possibly the rudest and low class "service" of our lives. I have been in the medical service industry for 30 years; I know how to treat a client politely and in a timely manner, and to offer them a solution if there is a problem. This store was a case study on how NOT to treat a client. Here's what happened... We arrived at the store early to fill out the necessary paperwork. We walked in, there were 4 employees in the room, 3 of them with customers. Not a single person said "hello" or "how can I help you", we were basically ignored. Finally, an employee told us to wait in the doctor's reception area, but there was no attempt to guide us or let us know what to do. So, we waited for a while but nobody came up front to help us, so I walked to the first room and saw the doctor's assistant Gretchen - remember this name. She told me to get back to the reception area and "hang out" for a while. When she came up front, she became upset that we had not signed in. In fact, every time she spoke to us she was rude and sarcastic, and not subtly. I politely told her that this was our first time there, that no one had made an effort to explain the process to us, and that we had waited quite a while. Her response was "how long did you wait, like 2 minutes?" in an appalling aggressive tone. At that point I had enough, I took back my license and told her she was one of the rudest and low-class persons we had ever met. I suggested that a course on client service would do her well. She just shrugged and said "OK"; she didn't apologize or even care that we were leaving. When we got back to the main lobby, we remarked to the employees the way that Gretchen treated us. NO ONE said I word, no one tried to see if the situation could be settled, and no one apologized. As we were walking out, one employee who was arranging the shelves said "sorry about that" then turned away and continued what he was doing. His response was blatantly insincere, he didn't care that we were leaving unhappy. In fact, no employee seemed to really care about anything at all. Then we drove home. I don't lie, I don't exaggerate, and I don't write reviews to get even with someone. Another important detail was that I never said a bad or inappropriate word to Gretchen, I just told her she had acted extremely rude and low-class. If I ever acted like her at my job I would be fired immediately. The visit was a nightmare, and not one person cared if we lived or died; it was almost unbelievable. My glasses did not fit right and kept falling off so I called them to make sure they would give me a hand fitting them even though I did not purchase them there. They told me to come right in and when I got there they fixed everything in three minutes. When I asked how much it was they would not charge me. The two women working there were supremely nice, I believe it was Chris and Sue. As a sidebar, there is a distinction between the lenscrafter and the review of the doctor. A few years back I made an appointment to have my eyes checked and when I showed up they told me it was going to be close to an hour because walk in patients had shown up just before me. I am in total shock! I chose Lens Crafters because that is where I went up North and because they were open on Saturday. I have vision insurance. Upon arrival, I was told that it would be $180 to see the Doctor. Relulctantly I paid the $180 since I was already there. The staff seemed very friendly as did the doctor, Dr Cortes. I had worn contacts before, knew what I wore, and was interested in getting the same thing. Upon completion of the exam, I asked Dr Cortes what the price of these contacts would be. She told me roughly $80 for the pair (I clarified if that was just for one eye or both). I was THRILLED! On Monday, the staff at Lens Crafters called me to get my payment of $525! WHAT? ARE YOU SERIOUS? I was told that the doctor would not be back in until next week sometime. OVER $700 FOR AN EYE EXAM AND CONTACTS AND I HAVE GOOD INSURANCE??? I called back to speak with someone from the contact/glasses department and they were extremely rude. Why have insurance???? What would the price have been without insurance? I know there are all types of scams out there but I would never think that a doctor/clinic would be out to scam people. I have called other places and their fees are not nearly as high with my insurance, nor are their contact lenses. I guess I should have done my research ahead of time. The staff said they would have the doctor call me. I hope she does but I am very doubtful. read more

My appointment was for Sunday afternoon. I called and hour before to reconfirm, and was told there had been some cancellations, so I could come in early. So I did. My appointment was for 3:30, I got there at 3. I told the desk guy that I was told I could come in early so here I am, and he tells me that was before 2:30. We're on schedule now, so your appointment is at 3:30 I left, came back at 3:34, and they were still behind. They went from, come in early, to we're running behind all within one hour! When the exam started, the guy didn't wipe down the equipment with alcohol pads, but I didn't say anything. Maybe they do that after here? Then I noticed one of the machines had scotch tape holding in place the pad where you rest your forehead when you look at the red barn. After that I cancelled the eye exam and left. I just went to the Boca one on Lyons and Glades, a much better experience with all brand new equipment and a competent staff. Worth the drive. Make sure to ask for Dr. Maule, I saw her and she is a great doctor. read more

You know, I don't know why all of the higher ratings are filtered, and the lower ones are shown. Maybe you get extra points for being an angry jerk on Yelp. I visited it today, and it was a great helpful experience. The salespeople were not at all "smarmy" as noted by one reviewer, and were extremely helpful. They explained to me in great detail about their old glasses new trade in offer (valid only a few more weeks) and I ended up saving $150 off, paying at least $200 less than I did at another eyeglass store. These people are just trying to be helpful, and would your really be happy if a sales person told you you looked like a "serial killer" in those glasses? Honestly, they're just trying to do their jobs. I had a great, pleasant experience, and I would go here again for my next pair. read more

Took my older son here for his first eye check up in years (he's 31). Tim, the clerk was wonderful! He is a jack of all trades and does many jobs there, but does it all with patience and a smile. Dr. Cohen seemed very knowledge. We chose the Ray Ban's which were on clearance, and the Ray Ban's lenses (they'll have to mail the finished product to him), plus 40% off. We'll be getting the contacts from another source, but for now, we are very happy with the results. read more

I had the good fortune to have my 94 year old mother examined by Dr. Ashley Noble. She is thorough, patient, knowledgeable and kind. She took the time to explain all that she was doing and provided the results of her examination. I cannot express how appreciative we were because it was late in the afternoon on Sunday and my mother was having an issue. Dr. Noble calmed her fears with her reassuring and genuine demeanor. I read the reviews which were not good, so I should have known better. However, because they are close, I went anyway. It was one problem after another. Two different contacts were fitted on me to try out; neither of them I could see, having very blurry vision. They also tried to convince me to purchase lenses for my eyeglass frames for $600, which I am glad I did not. Every time I called them or Dr. Cohen's office, they couldn't find my file. Finally, I decided to go back to my previous eye doctor, Eyecare Professionals on Lantana Road; they are great. I hear that Delray LensCrafters is better. But, I think I will just stick with what I know works well, Eyecare Professionals. read more

I was in a situation where I needed contact lenses and glasses STAT. I made an appointment for the eye doctor the same day. Before my appointment I went on the Lenscrafters website and printed the frames that I wanted to look at. I arrived at Lenscrafters. I waited about 5 minutes for the eye doctor; whom I think was the best I had ever had. Because I have astigmatism, the doctor told me he would have to order my lenses. I've been dealing with this for years, so it was no surprise for me. After the eye exam, I went to the show room WITH MY LIST. The sales person got each one from the shelf and I tried on most of them. He didn't give the run around. I picked my frames out in a matter of minutes and checked out easily. The sales person even asked if I had AAA because they seem to have the best discount over my insurance. I saved about $40! 1 hour later I was out of there with the frames I liked. The Doctor himself gets a 5 out if 5 stars but one lady on his staff, I think her name is Jane, brings the rating down to BELOW A ONE and is the reason why I will never go back to this office. I was waiting to be seen for my appointment for a while and had a question specifically for the doctor so was waiting to speak with him when she rudely intervened (preventing me from talking to him). She accused me of being a liar to which I proved her wrong and she didnt even say sorry. I had to tell her my background story 3 times before she even understood and when she finally did she didnt even take any of the blame for the issue when it was clear it was her or another staff members fault (again accusing me of lying despite evidence). I drove all the way from west palm to see the doctor, in the rain, and rather than let me do this, his staff was rude, rigid, & unhelpful and just cost him a patient (as well as those I referred to his office). A simple apology/ conversation with the doctor that I was entitled (prescedualed appt. months in advance) could have fixed this but I wasnt given either. If it were possible to give this store 0 stars I would do so. Visited here on Saturday 12 March, 2017 and spoke to a rude, arrogant woman named Tricia. I am a veteran and had received an eye exam at another facility for no charge and had intended to go to the V.A. for my eyewear but changed my mind due to conflicts with my work schedule. I decided to shop locally instead. I had already received quotes for the exact lenses that I knew I wanted at other facilities so I knew the general price ranges. Lenscrafters was orders of magnitude higher than anywhere else. They have nice frames but you can buy the exact same ones on the 'net for less money. Why do these brick and mortar stores think that they can treat customers poorly and charge customers high prices and still stay in business? I placed an order on 6/26/13 for contact lenses. After returning from vacation 3 weeks later I realized that the store hadn't called me. I called and was told that someone (Trish) had indicated in the computer that the lenses had already been picked up. I told the person on the phone (Jane, a floor supervisor) that I had not picked up my lenses. She told me that she would rush an order for me and they would be in the store in a few days. The very next day I received a phone message from Jane telling me that the contacts were in. ( I thought "wow, great service") When I arrived to pick them up another associate (Jean) found the contacts and started to check me out - as I looked at the boxes I realized that only the lenses for my Right Eye were there. Jean looked at the order and it showed that whoever placed the original order in the system made an error. Jean couldn't figure out how to fix it so she went and found Jane. After Jane spent @20 minutes trying to figure it out I finally said "cancel the order, I will go someplace else". Jane credited my card for the full amount - during the process Jean walks back over asks "what's going on ?" I tell her "what's going on" and she makes a face - rolls her eyes and walks away. The next day - I went to a different Lenscrafter ( Boca Raton ) and they tried to place the order but the Boynton Beach store didn't release my insurance benefit from their system. After 2 hours of phone calls between the Boynton Beach store manager (Kris) and the Insurance Company they finally released the benefit so a new order could be placed. My advice... Stay away from the LensCrafters on Boynton Beach Blvd. in Boynton Beach, FL. They don't know how to manage their store. read more

This is a "plus equals minus" kinda review. Buying glasses at Lenscrafetrs is like buying a used car at Cars Are Us - same smarmy salesmen. same tactics, and same customer frustrations. They follow you around while you're trying to find that just-right frame, and everytime you ask their opinion - they agree with you!! "How do I look in these frames" I asked. "Fabulous" replied the smarmy saleman. "And these" I ask as I put on another style. Again, smarmys reply is "Fabulous", although I think I now look like a serial killer. Then you get the hard sell: UV protection, anti-glare, extra scratch resistance, etc, etc. What about spray cleaner, microfiber cleaning cloth -- jeez I could go on forever. IT'S ANNOYING! All I wanted was a decent looking pair of glasses that wouldn't fall off my head. Four hundred dollars later smarmy tells me he'll take 100 bucks off because I'm such a nice guy and he'll give me a discount coupon - and that brings the price down to what a regular place would charge. Oh! Oh! The plus?? They can complete your glasses in a couple of hours. J.C. Penney (where I now buy my glasses) is a more pleasant experience, and cheaper - but they take 2 weeks to delivery your new specs. read more
