Stopped by this location which is located within Sunset Point Mall at the southwest corner of the intersection of Sunset Point Rd. and US Hwy 19 in Clearwater. It's near the Burger King. There's plenty of parking. We were just stopping by to check out some frames and get some prices for non-insurance covered glasses. For anyone who's been looking for new lens and glasses, you will notice that with all of the "Sales" and "Discounts", a new pair of bifocals will cost between $350 to $450. Knowing that, you should shop around for exactly what kind of frames you like. The frames are the least expense part of the transaction. Overall, LensCrafters have a nice store with an abundance of frames to choose from. Be prepared for high pressure sales tactics. read more

My daughter went to the Sunset Point office for an eye exam. We have eye insurance, but she was charged $99 for a contact fitting. However, oddly enough, she was not fitted in the office. I called and they said they gave her contacts to try at home. I explained that this is not a contact fitting, and they blew me off. They seemed unconcerned and unwilling to refund money. Please stay away from this place. read more

Went to check out glasses. They were having a 30% off frames and 50% off lenses sale. We checked out a pair that was a couple hundred bucks...but after lenses (and even w the discounts) we were quoted 1600 and change. Crazy. W insurance it was $500 out of pocket. Asked to get the quote via email, and we got it...but zero detail to the quote. Just basically said what our out of pocket would be. Would be nice if there was a little more transparency read more

Been trying to call the doctors side for 2 days to finalize my new prescription for contacts, and nobody will answer the phone no matter what time of day. Getting sent to voicemail over and over. I shouldn't have to drive all the way to the store just to finalize a prescription when I was told to call and do so. read more

Things could have gone better if I had someone other than the woman who didn't seam to want to be there. She was stand off-ish and didn't realy seam to care about my needs, so now I will return to the store, after Christmas,to have my new $550.00 glasses adjusted to fit my nose, hopefully get a pair of softer nose pieces also. read more

I had an eye exam at the Lenscrafters in Clearwater Florida, Countryside Mall. The first visit I made 3 years ago was fine, this last visit was awful. The Dr. that was there this time was terrible. His staff was not that friendly, and had no idea how to do an exam, they were telling my husband who has Glaucoma to move his eyelashes aside! needless to say she did not finish the exam. The exam with the doctor then proceeded to give my husband somewhat different numbers on each eye, telling him he better get to another doctor that afternoon. Also, did not tell him he had cataracts as well. The exams for us both were about 5 minutes. My prescription was incorrect as well. I was told my eyesight had not changed in 3 years which I knew it had that is why I scheduled exams for us. We had to spend more money at another place to get all this corrected, we are aware what a professional, thorough exam entails and this was NOT it. I tried to get my money back but since they keep saying the doctors are independent so Lenscrafters cannot do anything to help me or refund my money. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT go to this office and use this Dr. You will regret it. read more

Haley was so helpful and did a thorough job while doing the eye exam. (I'm not a doctor, so I don't know the proper term). She was kind, patient, and listened to me. The guy that helped me pick out a new pair of sunglasses was also very helpful and knowledgable. It came into conversation about my faith in Jesus, but he continued to help despite our difference in beliefs. Christians are usually treated with disrespect because we believe God came to the earth, while being fully God and fully man, as Jesus. I wish I could remember his name so I could mention it here. He understood exactly what I was talking about and without any hesitation, corrected the issue and ordered my new glasses. This is for the doctor section - This is only for 2 receptionists that could have a better attitude. I went to pick up my contacts and the man working there just tossed them at me and said here you go. When I asked him to look up the other brand that I've been waiting on he seemed pissed I asked him to do his job. Lady with the Russian accent can also go get a better attitude. I definitely will not be coming here again. I went to get both a contact and glasses exam, only got a glasses exam , got charged for the contact one even though I didn't get one. They ended up using a contact prescription from years ago to try to get me to try a new brand. read more

If you are looking for eyeglasses repair try this place first! Went to 3 other eyeglasses stores prior to coming to Lenscrafters with no luck. Lenscrafters was able to screw my eyeglass arm back into the frame. read more

UPDATE: was told to reach out through the website and someone would get in contact with me. Never happened. I was ok with the delay at the doctors here because the doctor was nice. But Bill, in sales is horrible. I was finished with my exam at 5:00. I walked out at 6:30 with no help. He gave me a tray. He said, "I have a to take a call and I'll be back to help you." I waited. See the time above. Read the other reviews. Bill literally skipped me to help two other guys who came in AFTER me. And then when I walked up to him, he ignored me and put up signs. He's lazy and losing the company money. My sister that had an appointment after me was helped and nearly cashed out BEFORE he even bothered to come back. And that's after the woman helping my sister asked him to. And then he was like, "well if you want to look at frames--" and I said "I'm okay." At that point I did not want my glasses. And then he talked behind my back not thinking I'd hear him saying, "well I said hello but we didn't get really far." Duh. That's the whole point. At that point, I was like-- "you said you had a call and that when you were done, you'd come back. You never did." And then he said, "oh- well sorry." The most insincere apology EVER. Do not come here for glasses. You can see the doctor but Bill will continue to lose money for this store. My sister ended up NOT getting her glasses, $400 dollars btw. Really wish my experience could have been resolved. I have been a loyal customer to Lenscrafters and bought two pairs of sunglasses on January 10th. Was told they would arrive and be ready by the 17th. Fantastic news everyone as they lost my order and I have still not received these glasses (today is the 29th). When trying to speak to the manager to be compensated in some form for this, I was told this wasn't possible because I already used coupons toward the glasses. If you are looking for a company that will lose your glasses and not compensate you when they are wrong, definitely come here! read more

Kay, the Eyewear Consultant who has retired since I visited here, was simply the best to work with! I came in after being away from LensCrafters for 7 years. I was lucky to work with Kay. The selection of better frames are awesome. I've tried lesser frames and got what I paid for! :-P We spent quite sometime and several trips back to finally come to my decision. I have a pair of Ray Ban Prescription Sun Glasses & a pair of Ray Bay Prescription Transition daily wear. Sweet. With my insurance and store discounts, it was worth it to get 2 pair. Found out my child is almost legally blind, came here and ordered some glasses , Her order had to be sent out for because it's because the prescription is so high, they PROMISED Me a date they would be done, 2 weeks , a PROMISED date. I called on the promised date to see where the glasses are, and they told me they're still processing, and it may take another week they're not quite sure There's no one they can call to find out. So my child gets to be legally blind for another 1-2 weeks , who knows. This is really bad business, especially when it comes to a child's prescription, they should stop promising a date, and extend from two weeks to three weeks, and if the glasses get done sooner great. read more

Not recommended. I purchased prescription glasses in May. Right from the start I had problems with the frames. They were continuously getting loose and sliding off my head. After about 12 times getting them "adjusted" I finally asked for a refund. I was told that policy would not allow this to happen. My point was that ever since new, there were issues with the frame. I had the manager contact customer service and was promised that a regional person would contact me. Of course this never happened. During this period I was told by a registered optician that the frames chosen were inappropriate for the lenses needed and a professional should have recommended different frames. Bottom line, shop there at your own risk. I will never patronize lens crafter After many months of complaints resolution was achieved. The pair of glasses with issues were replaced today with a new pair of my choice. Matter closed thanks to all involved. read more

Absolutely TERRIBLE. STAY AWAY at all costs. the "secretary" is SP RUDE it's absurd. She thinks she runs the place and for that, i will take my business elsewhere. She is NO help, and thinks shes the actual doctor, as she told me my contacts were like "antibiotics" and I could NOT change what type of contacts i used. Absolute joke. read more

My previous doctor stopped accepting my insurance. I tried food LensCrafters on a whim. I'm really glad I did! Everyone is really friendly, and I could tell they really knew their product in the actual LensCrafters side. It was a great experience and I'll be back next year. read more

My daughter has a very expensive glasses prescription and we buy her a new pair every year as insurance coverage allows. I was getting her new ones and one of the sales ladies preceded to guilt me and make me feel like a bad parent because I did not buy my child an extra pair of glasses. Guilt and humiliation should never be an acceptable sales technique. I will never patronize this business again. read more
