I went to Lenscrafters in Daytona Beach Florida last year and purchased a pair of glasses with an expensive set of frames ( I don't remember the name ) and progressive lens with all the addon's; blue light, sun darkening, etc. The cost was over $700.00. In the store they looked and worked fine. After a few days I started to notice I was getting dizzy while wearing them. I planned to return to them and find out what the problem was, but I had an emergency in my family and had to leave town. I was gone almost 2 months. When I got back I went to Lenscrafters to get some help. They told me the vision area was not wide enough and I needed a more expensive lens, but their guarantee was only 30 days. I told them about my situation and that I would pay for the new lens. Their price was over $1000.00! just for the lens. How could they sell me lens and frame for $700 and then $1000 for replacement lens? This is sheer greed they saw someone they could take advantage of and tried. I left. read more

Do NOT go to this location. The Gen Manager is a liar. I have had nothing but issues. I had to order different lenses to get anti glare added to my new glasses. The lenses came in. A guy from Lab called at 6:57 pm (3 min before close) the night before Thanksgiving. He proceeded to tell me it would be more than a week out to cut the lenses because he has to is his personal car and his personal gas to drive to another store to use their equipment because his lab is torn out because of the sewers being worked on. He stated I would need to bring my glasses and he would have to drive over while I wait for what could be several hours for him to cut it so I would need to first call and make sure he has time which means I would have to basically take an entire day off of work for this to accommodate him. (I was told last week when this was ordered that I could come by during any business hour and it would take approx 20 min. At my convenience. ) He then proceeded to say "Now this after 7:00 and I am talking to you on my own personal time. Very rude he also stated he was the only person at the store who cuts lenses Friday I called the store to address the issue & the first person who answered talked over me and refused to allow me to say what had occurred and kept demanding I give my number (she never asked my name) suddenly another woman was speaking to me and, again demanding my number. I asked to speak to the Mgr and she stated she was the Mgr. I then asked for the Div. Manager contact and she refused to provide. I then hung up and called another store who provided me with a Corp. number. They called the store three wanting me in. Initially the Manager was bad mouthing me claiming I was screaming at the other person while they were in front of a patient. First the phones are located away from where the patients are seated so that was the first lie, then the rep chimed I. To let her know I was on the line. She then became extremely nice & then proceeded to claim how sad she was I had such a bad experience. I, again asked for the Div mgr contact she kept pressing to resolve herself, I asked that my Lense's be sent to the store down the street and she begged me to allow her to fix herself she then promised to cut the lenses and place on brand new frames identical to my own on Sat and that she would call me Saturday to let me know it was done and suggested she had something else for me for my trouble. Well Saturday came and went, Sunday came and she is not in of course. So here we are. A manager who clearlybretaliatesbagainst her customers and lies when corporate is on the phone. It's no wonder they can't keep workers there with a manager who is like this. Even the Drs leave and patients have to have virtual eye checkups through video instead of an actual dr physically examining you. They would be better off closing this store or cleaning house and starting over. The only person I would keep is the new tech who assisted the virtual dr. She was very sweet and thorough. Then to add to this did get a call from a sweet girl requesting I drive to the Home Depot Parking Lot to meet Phil and hand him my glasses so he could go into the store nearby and cut my lenses while I sit in the Home Depot Parking lot! I started laughing and told her what this joke of a Gen Mgr promised me she was supposed to do herself personally the day before (12:15 on Sunday this call. They opened at 12:00) I also laughed and said, " I bet she didn't come in today either" and she stated she was there. I suggested we get her on the phone so she could explain why she lied with corporate on the recorded call Friday so she placed me on hold. When she returned she stated the Mgr had left. At that point the store was open a whole 23 min. I suggested she be careful with what she is going to say to me if untruthful because the call was being recorded so she stopped. She then proceeded to say the Manager was going to get things for a co workers birthday that is tomorrow. read more

I made a same-day appointment online for a mid-afternoon appointment to get an updated eye exam and Rx lenses for my new designer sunglass frames I had purchase at a designer's store. I arrived early to fill out the typical heath questionnaires. At my appointment time, the optical tech performed all of the tests typically performed at the optometrist's office. The technician was quite pleasant and when done, put me in the room to wait for the optometrist. I waited a pretty substantial amount of time in the tiny back room (maybe 20 minutes or more), and almost walked out when the optometrist finally showed up. After I received my Rx from the optometrist, I proceeded over to the retail part of the office where Teresa helped me with ordering lenses for my frames. I also ended up getting another pair of regular (non-tinted) lens with a new frame. Overall, it was a pretty good experience...so far. My Rx requires sending off-site for fabrication, so I'm now I'm waiting for them the lenses to come in. read more

It's very common living in the United States to see very overpriced items. I was looking for a pair of eyeglasses to be made relatively quick within about 48 hours. I stepped into the LensCrafters to be greeted by their Ferrari. Remember this is the secretary, the greeter and a glass of champagne that will take your credit card when you're ready to pay. Now let's switch from the beautiful oil painting to the hustler. I listened in as one of the eyeglass assistants worked with a male customer. After he had heard enough of the high-pressure mumbo-jumbo about what he needed to do and what he needed to pick out -he told her all you are is a "hustler". I laughed nearby! I was keenly listening how this fast talking woman was going to make sure she closed the sale. It was almost like a boxer making calculated punches with calculated foot work to get the opponent into the corner to where she could do the knockout punch. I felt bad for the older gentleman who would appear not to have a great deal of money. Then as I viewed the prices on the glasses and began to think....., a bit of plastic & a tiny bit of metal and we're going to charge a minimum of $89 to over 350$ just for a frame. Then by the time your done with lens, coatings, thinner options, darkening lens, bifocal & transitioning lens you can add another $350. This is why my friend side as his 750 pair of glasses fell into the ocean. I normally spend about $100-$140 on a pair from an online company. It was at that point that I realized I might as well be in a new car dealership buying a new car. I had it for the door and didn't look back. Found another place in town that sold me two pair of eyeglasses that were bifocal progressive lenses for $128 a pair and will have them finished in about 18 hours. I would have been OK with paying 200 or 250 for a complete set of glasses $325 up is getting a bit ridiculous. My advice is find a different place to go to. read more

I drove half an hour to this location to get an eye exam by Dr Baldwin. I will admit that I got my appointment timing off by 10 mins - I thought my appointment was 12:30 and it was 12:20. I walked in the door at 12:28 and there was nobody at the desk to greet customers. I stood there for roughly 12 mins with nobody asking me what I needed or was there for. Finally a woman who had been working with a glasses patient asked me and said she would go get someone for me. Another 10 mins passed before a woman came out and handed me a clipboard with the new patient forms. I filled out the forms and sat back down. She proceeded to greet and process another patient who came in the door completely ignoring me. Doctor Baldwin came out and I overheard him say well take the later patient back since she was ready to go - which they proceeded to do. I stood up at this point and walked over to the desk and asked why I was being skipped after waiting for over half an hour. He told me well that's what happens when you are late - you get skipped! The other woman who apparently is supposed to be the receptionist - who was MIA for the first 20 mins of my experience there - then says why didn't you ask me I was here the whole time - a complete lie. At this point I was pretty upset so I just said I'll go somewhere else then and started to walk out. They both yell after me "That's a great idea!". So I made an honest mistake and was a few (8) minutes late but I really do not believe that I deserved to be treated with such unprofessionalism - particularly by an Optometrist. I lost an hour and a half of my day and have nothing to show for it. If they had manned the desk and simply explained that I was too late for this appointment or had asked me to come back another time I can understand and respect that position. Treat your customers with some respect and please learn how to run a business. I went to this place of business to spend my money for a service and potentially for a pretty expensive set of glasses and left pretty unhappy to say the least! I would go somewhere else to spend your money. In fact that is exactly what I plan to do. read more

For the 1st time ever, I was told that because I would be a new patient of doctor Baldwin that I have no choice but to have the optional procedure Optomap done for $34 not covered by insurance. Trish did an absolutely phenomenal job in fixing glasses that I thought to be irreparable. I came to the right place

We have now had two horrible experiences within a 2-week period. Initially, upon the first visit, the receptionist, and professional medical staff were all great. Then came time to pick out 2 pair of frames and order contact lenses. The gal (I think I recall her name is Theresa ???) was bossy, rude, mean, unprofessional... we left hoping another employee would be there another time. We came back and after standing around waiting to be at least greeted by a staff member, we chose to start looking at lenses. The same gal from the last visit came dashing at us and literally reprimanded us as if we were young children. We had touched a pair of frames and out them back. (Didn't know we had to out them onto a special tray for cleaning). We apologized. She turned, walked away and went somewhere in the back. We still were not offered any help and after filling up a tray, grabbed another tray to continue with our search. Theresa again came out and yelled at us for using more than one tray. As she walked away she muttered something that we didn't hear. Another customer came up to us and said "wow I'm glad it's not just me. I thought I had done something". We soon heard Theresa rudely commanding people about. We finally left because it was so toxic. Another couple who had just arrived left right behind us. read more

To tell someone that an insurance is accepted and make an appointment, then at the appointment say they do not take it and that it will only be a discount $85!?! Absolutely unacceptable. I was merely exchanging frames so there was probably no commission for her in this transaction, but she was so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful to me in picking out new frames. I'm a female and have to wear these 24/7, so wanted the perfect pair - and I'm afraid to say I took my time with this decision Trish was with me the whole way! What a delight! This is the WORST eye care center I have ever even at in my life. They do not deserve any stars. I started to wear eyeglasses at AGE 6 and have worn them for 62 years, so you can tell how many eye facilities I have been to in that amount of time: LOTS. This place is so fouled up. I ordered my glasses (progressives with transitions) on May 23, 2014; they came in 7 days later (May 30, 2014). They were totally fouled up. I could not see in any stage of the lenses (from far way, middle distance, or close-up for reading). The focus on the sides of the glasses was totally blurred. They told me to wear them around for a couple of weeks to get used to them. I should have known there & then. I couldn't even wear them home for fear of having a car accident. I brought them back the next day. They told me it was the type of lenses; it was the fact that my old pair was of a different size; it was that I was not used to them. They told me everything but that they made them wrong. Anyway, back they went and were supposed to be back about the following week. I called 6 days later (June 6, 2014); NOT IN. I called 7 days later; NOT IN. I called 9 days later; not in. I called 10 days later (June 10, 2014). Oh, they said that they had come in but, they were all done wrong, by the company that does them (not by them, of course), and because they are SUCH PROFESSIONALS AND HAVE SUCH PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS THEY SENT THEM BACK TO BE DONE AGAIN. They were sorry they never notified me of this. Mine you, I had ordered them 18 days prior. They assured me they'd already been fixed and were on special shipment back and would be in in 2 days or so. I called back 2 days later (Day 20); not in. I called back the next day (Day 21) days later; not in. I asked to talk to a supervisor. The supervisor said: Oh, they came in, but had to be sent back (for a third time). They were all done wrong AGAIN, by the company that does them (not by them, of course), and because they are SUCH PROFESSIONALS AND HAVE SUCH PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS THEY SENT THEM BACK TO BE DONE AGAIN (for a third time). They are on their way back now and will be done in another week (this would be the fourth time and one month later). They were sorry they never notified me of this again & had no idea who was giving me this false information that they were due in the next day (when everybody was telling me "the next day"; then, "the next day"; then, "the next day," etc.) Mine you, I had ordered them 21 days prior. I said FORGET IT! I will be in for my money back. Now, here is the kicker. I went to the store on Day 21, (about 20 minutes after I talked to that supervisor on the phone) & she had my glasses in her tray!!! They had never been even sent back to the factor yet to be done over, like she had just told me over the phone. Then, they were extremely rude to me (because I wanted my MONEY BACK; AS IF THIS WAS ALL SOME HOW MY FAULT) and kept interrupting me and trying to talk me out of a refund and for me to be " a little more patient," because they " were professional and only wanted to give me a professional product." ARE YOU KIDDING ME! PROFESSIONALS! They are rude, crude and professional liars is what they are and I will NEVER do business with them again, and try and tell EVERYONE I come in contact with about how "professional" they really are. read more
