Went in there needing glasses or contacts! They instantly gave me contacts to hold me over until they were done with my glasses. No charge on the contacts. They were extremely nice! This Lenscrafter helped save the vacation. Just like a couple of other posters, we were on vacation when my wife developed an eye infection and had her glasses damaged by our son. The optometrist wrote a prescription for antibiotics and charged us $65 which I felt was a very good price for an emergency visit. The fact that the glasses were done in an hour also helped minimize the damage to valuable vacation time. They also had a large selection of frames to choose from. Like Tricia, we were on vacation and I managed to step on my boyfriends brand new glasses after he thoughtfully left them on the floor. The clear wire/string that holds in the lenses snapped which necessitated a trip to the nearest eyeglass store. We walked into Lens Crafters and were immediately greeted by the general manager who took one look, told us it would be about 1/2 an hour and they would call when they were ready. We busied ourselves around the mall and 25 minutes later we received the call that they were done. We picked them up, they looked good and then we found out there was no charge!! Woot! The lenses popped out of my husband's glasses while we were vacationing on Maui. I found good reviews on Yelp for LensCrafters. It was quite a drive for us but worth it. Even though the glasses weren't from LensCrafters, Emily expertly repaired them in less than 10 minutes. No charge, but we did make a donation to the charity LensCrafters supports to provide glasses to those who couldn't otherwise afford them. Lens Crafter's in Maui are the best. I had problems with my frames and went to have it worked on. But I needed to leave it in the store for an hour, but I was leaving for a trip. Sure enough the following day it broke totally. I went into the Hayward, Ca Lens Crafter's and looking at it for a almost 45 minutes they couldn't do anything with it. So for a week I had to tape it together. Looking like a Dork. After returning to Maui I returned to Our Lens Crafter's and the fixed it At No Charge. This is an overdue review due to an incident last month. I'm another tourist who lost my glasses to the waves; I was wading and thought I'd keep my head above the water but the ocean laughed at my plans. And battered me. On a weekend, of course. Anyway, I was trying not to batter myself too much and to enjoy my trip while virtually blind but grew concerned about how to go back to work immediately after vacation without my vision. I realized I had done the unadvisable--traveled without backup lenses, with an expired prescription, and without vision insurance (I know I should and will fix this). I felt beyond grateful when I called and was luckily scheduled for an appointment the following day. Thank you a hundred times for squeezing me in! All of the staff and Dr. Truong were extremely friendly, light-hearted, humorous, and made me feel much better about having lost my glasses. Dr. Truong also provided some great vacation advice regarding lunch and exploring the northern beaches, which I am glad I heeded! The visit was quick, and with a lab on-site, my new glasses were ready within an hour! I received discounts on lenses and frames (there's a sale section) due to paying out of pocket and being a AAA member (I luckily had my card). I was on vacation in Maui when I broke my glasses. Called all over the place until I finally spoke with a man named JD at LensCrafters. He informed me to bring in my glasses so he could see if he could fix them. When I arrived he looked at them then went into the back of the store. He returned with the lab supervisor Jack who had already fixed my glasses(that I didn't even buy from a lenscrafters store). These 2 gentlemen where very nice and saved my trip! I moved to Maui last year and had to find a new one, I was a bit skeptical to go somewhere new but I had a wonderful experience here! Honestly, every single staff member was friendly and smiling. The doctor was knowledgeable and was able to recommend new contacts that I really love, he also complimented my eye strength instead of pointing out how terrible my vision is ... haha. I phoned them on Sunday evening, they had no appointments, but told me to come in and they would work me in! I was very happy with the friendly service provided by the staff there. My mother needed new glasses, I went with her to help pick out some frames. They were very busy but they did acknowledge our presence and let us know that a staff member will help us once one was available. We didn't mind as we were browsing their wide selection of frames which took some time to go through. We were vacationing in the Haiku area and my husband broke his glasses from Visionworks. There were no Visionworks on Maui, but there was a Lenscrafters in Kahului that was open on Sunday! So we called them and said they could help. We went over to the mall where they are located, and they fixed his glasses in 20 minutes! The lens had popped out and the string along the frameless bottom was detached. I surely thought that we'd have to leave his glasses overnight! I was so happy. The technician who helped us was incredibly helpful, and I regret that I didn't ask her name. She was wonderful. We walked around the mall and returned in 20 minutes. His glasses were as good as new. They said there was no charge and to just put a donation in their donation box for local charities. How awesome is that? Lenscrafters far exceeded my expectations and truly embodied the Aloha spirit. I am a part time resident of Maui, HI. I am writing to praise the extraordinary service that Maile Piper and the staff of Lenscrafters gave to me. My glasses broke 3 days after I arrived on the island. I am a member of the committee that runs the Maui Plein Air Painting Invitational and this three week event was about to begin. I needed a new pair of glasses immediately to facilitate a plein air painting workshop for the Invitational! Maile and the staff of the store made me a pair of "loaner" glasses in half an hour and got my permanent glasses to me the following week. This wonderful service was conducted with a smile and complete sympathy for my situation. However, this is not the the end of my story. The week after leaving Maui, my glasses again broke! I was now at my summer residence in Canada. Lenscrafters in Canada was not able to help me. I contacted Maile at Lenscrafters, Maui and she promptly sent me replacement frames. Whoa! I broke my glasses frames!! Panic time.... I tried several places but mostly got offered an appt in one week plus the glasses wouldn't be ready for 10 to fourteen days. I didn't realize that there was LensCrafters in the mall but there is and I was there at 9:00 the next morning. Right at the stroke of nine thirty the door was opened and I told my story . I was immediately escorted over to Dr Wong's office. They were able to fit me in at 945 I hardly had time to fill out the form and there was dr Wong ! She's great! So nice and efficient they . They have some new machines that are cool and really fast. Then I went out into the store. I told them exactly the type of glasses I wanted and there were at least 5 frames that fit the bill. They have a great promotion and AAA also has one so you can compare and see which is most economical . I got sunglasses too. I don't usually wear sunglasses because they make everything a funny color but these don't! Everything is very vibrant! Taylor fit the frames just right and when they say 1 hour they mean it! Plus no extra charge for that . So then I had another fit session, got some great cases and went home very happy! read more

I needed an optometrist to write on paper my prescription with a valid expiration date. So i made my appointment with Dr. Loc's receptionist, was quoted $120, and assumed i made the following clear. I've been going to eye doctors for 23 yrs, im 31. I know the routine. Since its against the law in the USA to fulfill an eyeglasses or contact lens prescription thats expired, we routinely pay money for a new expiration date. Some people really need the exam, I know when my vision changes, it hasn't in 15 yrs. I agreed to another $33 charge for a retinal exam. Actual time with the doctor was about 15min, as id assumed, standard bs and out the door. At the receptionist the charge is suddenly $241, i asked about the $153 i agreed to, and apparently the magic invoice fairy that loves to drop surprises had shit all over my invoice. The 'ol bait and switch, i was really disappointed to conned by an eye doctor. I wish I could tell my clients i'll charge them one price, and then double the final price. But I wouldn't be in business anymore because thats crooked and my clients would choose honest people for future work and tell all their friends how i ripped them off. But, if you are in health care, these days this is standard practice. read more
