LensCrafters in St. Augustine was the place and my associate was Kelly. She was absolutely amazing, sweet and helpful. She took care of me right away and the best part, she didn't charge a cent. i ordered brown tinted lenses, i brought my old pair with me to show the exact color tint which i had bought from them a year ago. i explained and showed them i wanted. The lenses came back the color not the lighter shade. They made no apology or said how can we make this right .They said if i did not like the color bring them back within 60 days and they will see what they can do. i just might do that i am going away in 2 days so i had to take them. read more

The LensCrafters in St. Augustine insisted I needed a 3rd complete eye exam in under a year because it had been more than 45 days (3 months) since my last one. I was there with concerns about my new contacts. They then decided they could not submit it to my medical insurance because that would be the third time in under a year and it would be rejected. Because it's not necessary! They charged me anyway for the full price. This is a LensCrafter scam. Go elsewhere. Too bad because the optometrist and staff are great. read more

This LensCrafters was a lifesaver for my sister! While visiting St. Augustine beach her glasses washed into the ocean and we were bummed. She did a quick Google search and called up this LensCrafters location to see what could be done with short notice. They encouraged her to come in and see whether it made more sense to get a new pair of glasses or get some contacts. She was able to be seen immediately when we arrived and even got an appointment to get a prescription for contacts. Within a short time we left and she had a few pairs of dailies in tow, which really helped to keep her day and vacation from being ruined. We are very thankful for the service here! By the way, the folks at LensCrafters said that someone loses their glasses in the ocean every day here!! read more

I, like a dummy, lost my very heavy prescription glasses in the ocean on a beach vacation. We were minutes away from giving up and going home (with my husband making the entire drive since I'm blind!), but you guys saved the day! You were able to see me within 2 hrs of my call, everyone was so nice and comforting (letting me know I am far from the first to make this mistake!) and I was able to leave with enough contacts to enjoy the rest of our trip and get home safely. Went in for an exam and eye doctor was great! Picked out glasses without a problem. Fitting for glasses not so good. When the first pair came in I couldn't see the reading portion ( progressive lens) they had to refit again and mark glasses again. Mind you I am 45 mins from this place and had to go back 2 times now. When new lens came in I received a call and a text. We drove again another 45 mins (One way)and when arrived I was advised that I would have to come back after 2pm because the person is not in to put lenses in. I asked if someone else could do it and the women told me she is with a customer. Meanwhile 2 other sales people were telling us this. Instead of asking a customer to come back again 3 times now they should have spoken with the one and only person that could do the lens and let one of the two standing around help the other customer pick out glasses. I voiced my concern and was told you have to come back which is ridiculous!!! Eye doctor is great but staff can't measure correctly and then want customers to go out of there way for a mistake on their staff makes. I understand things happen but 2 times and then want customer to continue to go out of their way is not customer service!!! No manger has ever called to discuss!! Needless to say they just lost 2 customers!!! read more

They were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We came in from out of town and my husband's glasses had broken and we needed to purchase a new pair they are willing to make them that day. However they didn't have the lens to make them so The technician took half an hour of his time to repair my husband's glasses and then didn't charge us for it. I went Lenscrafters in cobblestone shopping center in St Augustine for contacts. I went back three times because the prescription was never right. Then once they got it right BUT when I reordered the prescription they gave me the wrong prescription! 3 strikes and you are out with me. I went to Lenscrafters Ponte Vedra Got a new eye examine. The Dr was fabulous and the prescription was perfect the first time!!! This Lenscrafters on 135 Jenkins Street is a complete waste of time and money, and the management doesn't seem to care. I was out of the store in less than 5 minutes, and was treated with the best service! My husband and I were in St. Augustine on vacation. I stepped accidentally on his eyeglasses and bent and broke the arm of his glasses. The lens crafter graciously repaired the arm of the glasses and restrung the lens. He didn't charge us anything and helped save our vacation! Everyone there was nice, friendly, & helpful! I almost didn't go here because of previous reviews. Heather was as helpful and sweet as could be. Took lots of time helping me select, showed me all the different options for costs, and then explained the insurance option so I understood. I then got a text about an hour later to pick up since my lenses were in stock, not always the case. However, the rest of the staff in there were also very pleasant and helpful. Would go back again. I very rarely give 5s since always something to improve on. In this case, the one thing which would like to see improved, the prices are getting higher, or more selection of under $50 frames. read more

I bought a pair of glasses there a couple of months ago and lost them. I called them to have another pair just like them made. They told me they couldn't make them because my prescription was older than one year. I checked and Florida allows a prescription to be good up to 5 years. They didn't tell me that part. Just that the prescription was only good for one year. When I called back they then told me the one year limit is Lenscrafters policy not state law. Shady but legal. I then asked for them to send me my Rx so I could get them made elsewhere. They refused to send me the prescription. They told me I had to go back to original store which for me is 100 miles away. Let's just say that customer service is not a priority for Lenscrafters and the one year policy on the Rx appears to be essentially for monetary purposes. Stay away if you value good customer service and reasonable policies. read more
