This place is a swindling nightmare with no integrity and terrible customer service. Long story short, save yourself the trouble, don't get conned, avoid wasting time, and go to another optical. This is going to be a long post so I've summed up my points - Lies to you about the product you are getting, and charges you premium price but gives you worst products in hopes that you don't notice - Refuses to refund insurance claims and makes up lies and excuses. - Store clerk ridicule you when you voice any concerns. I have been a life long eyeglasses wearer, so saying I have knowledge about the types of lenses would be an understatement. Two months ago, I bought a pair of glasses over $1000. I got the 1.74x premium lenses which alone costed $705 after discounts. The Nazim claimed they are "thinnest lenses available on the market". However, what I actually received were obviously not the "thinnest" lenses on the market. They were as thick as the 1.55x lenses I got for $30 at another store! I went back to the store and voiced my concern, and showed them my other glasses with the same prescription with 1.55x lenses and 1.67x lenses. Nazim's attitude was very impatient, claiming "Your prescription is so bad, so your lenses won't get any thinner". Funny, even my 1.67x lenses are thinner than what LensCrafters claim "thinnest" on the market. Nazim and another Asian girl were very impatient with me, claiming that everything was MY fault for having terrible eye sight (I'm about -5.50, which is not THAT bad). The Asian girl told me that LensCrafter has a policy where they can't make lenses too thin for safety purposes. As a consumer, I couldn't care less about your store policy. When I pay 1.74x prices, I expect them to be 1.74x lenses. Is it also their policy to do false advertising and charging premium 1.74x prices on something that were obviously 1.55x lenses? Is it their policy to lie about their products? Then, I spoke with the General Manager Peggy. After I showed her my 1.55x lenses and 1.67x lenses, she agreed to reorder my lenses for me because she was "surprised how thick the 1.74x lenses at LensCrafters were". The new lenses that came in 2 days were about half as thin as my previous lenses, which Nazim, with an attitude of annoyance, claimed were "thinnest on the market". I wish the story ended here, but there is more. My new lenses were too small for my frame, so there was a gap between the frame and the lens, tied by wire. I brought this up to Peggy who said she would "order new frames for me" even though it was evident that the lenses were too small for the frame. Adding this to the 2 days it took for Peggy to place an order for the new lenses and them being shipped from America, one can only question if they recycled some old lenses and cut it out in the shape of my frames. However, no phone calls or updates were ever received, even though Peggy promised to call in two days. After 5 days, I called in to ask if I can schedule an appointment with Peggy, but the store clerk said "I don't know when she's working.. I'm busy right now so I'll call you in 30 min". Of course, no one even called 24 hours later. So, I headed to the store, and of course Peggy was conveniently sick. One girl staff with curly hair also mumbled to a clerk helping me, "You should tell Peggy that she came today" with a scoff. How rude can you get? It took them 20 minutes to find my pair of glasses. Although Peggy claimed she "ordered new frames to me, the frames and lenses look exactly the same with the same gap in the same place. So my glasses were sitting with them for 5 days for no reason!! I'll cut the part about how they exchanged my frames for the sample frame out for display in the store (aka worn out). I did not pay $350+ for used, second hand demo frames!! I finally ran out of patience and any faith I had for this store, and asked for a refund. The store clerks refused to refund my insurance claim, claiming "only managers can process insurance claim refunds" and "I honestly don't know how to prepare refunds" and "It takes 3 weeks to mail the refund paper work to the insurance company". Too bad for you I did my research beforehand, my insurance company said LensCrafters can do refunds for claim instantly. Poor, incompetent staff. If you're going to lie, at least put more effort into it. I called my insurance company just now and had them directly ask LensCrafters for a refund. And everything was done in 10 minutes. Lenscrafters personel do not care about people. They are next to my eye doctor who is in the Fairview Mall Only reason i went there is because they do the lenses in 1 hour They charge twice than other stores but they said their quality is better. 1. the ladies of the store only give you a smile when you enter the store and want to buy something 2. once you decided on a frame, they do weird calculations, in the end i always pay aprox. 200 cad for lenses 3. I was there with my kid this weekend, after I bougth a pair of lenses and came back after 1 hour to pick up, they told me they were ready and i had to wait some seconds, I was sitting there for 2 hours, I was asked 3 times by different ladies in smiles Can I help you? after telling them, yes I am here to pick up, they just disappeared and went to talk to new customers. 4. I heard other people complaining too and they wanted to talk to the manager? but there is NO REAL manager. 5. So at the end of the 2 hours. We decided to come back the next day I understand they might be working for commission but this is supposed to be a service provider. but that was not the worst: 2 days after that, I took my little kid there she needed her frames adjusted , I was crossing fingers to find someone nice, well I had bad luck. The lady was mad I had gotten frames at other store and only the lenses there, started practically yelling at me that these frames were bad for my kid and She would not stop. I can believe she did that in front of my kid, it took me a while to convince her to wear glasses. I was so upset. [I was thinking if the frames are bad why they did not tell me before putting the lenses or they just wanted to sell lenses] So that is my last experience with this horrible people, never going back again. Now I am in the look for a good optical store with real human people. The have lots of customers, so I imagine they just do not care about me and my family. The ladies who work there are less than helpful. They completely ignored me when I was trying to find glasses. I was trying on samples and looked for help but they looked me in the eye and walked past. They seemed to be ignoring me over the older lady who was also there (despite that I was there FIRST). I really felt that they were judging me since I am younger (22) and probably thought I was trouble. I do look older for my age, and was dressed business casual! Finally i basically yelled for someone to help me and she came over, with the attitude that i had forced her to. Anyways had the 2 hour wait and all was ok. I feel that the prices were extreme. My lenses are so basic (just for reading and to help with my migraine problems due to strain) and I felt that i wasn't offered a good deal. On top of all that I sat to wait for an optometrist to see if my new glasses fit properly and was moving my head about trying to see if the glasses would fly off and I was told by not 1 but 3 of the ladies working there that I could leave if I didn't need adjustments. I said I wanted to talk to optometrist since I had never bought glasses for myself before. I waited 1 more minute and the same ladies told me again I could leave. I basically got fed up with the whole store and just left. My glasses are not fit to my face and i'll probably have to pay someone else to adjust them, but I think it's almost worth it since Lens Crafters at Fairview mall staff were near useless. Terrible customer service. Ordered frame and lenses on July 23rd right after seeing eye doc next door, and they were not cheap. $600 in total for a nice pair of designer frames and top quality HI lenses. Order sheet noted the delivery date of Aug 1st which came and went without any phone call. I called them on the afternoon of Aug 4th and only got a vauge explaination that they will look for my order in the next shipment and call me. No apology and no firm commitment to when my glasses would be ready. Has this company not clued into the basic retail concept to under promise so you can over deliver? Did not hear from them the next day on Aug 5th either. Kinds of makes a mockery of their statement that most glasses can be made in a hour. Called them again on the afternoon of Aug 6th and they said they would look into my order and call me back. Left a voice message for me 40 minutes later to state the same thing, "they think my lenses will be in tomorrow's shipment and they will call me when my glasses are ready." Once again, no apology, no firm pick up date. You would think this company has a retail software that sets alerts when a customer's order is over due and to call them, plus knows exactly where and status of a customers order is. I had enough and called back to cancel my order. Guessing I was directed to the manager and she offered me a paltry discount that amounted to about 8% of the purchase price for my wait. I've been to a few opticals before but this was the only one where I knew exactly the type of lenses I was getting. Cecil who helped me very nice and knowledgeable and actually took the time to explain everything out for me. I don't know about the other locations but I would definitely recommend this lenscrafters! read more

Terrible customer service. Spent thousands of dollars there, and discovered a defect in the frame of my glasses within the second year. This defect resulted in them gradually developing a hairline fracture down each lens, both fractures occurring in the exact same spot on each side. When I went in to confront them about it, I was immediately treated like it was my fault, and told that it couldn't possibly be a defect. I have gone through many pairs of glasses, and have taken great care to ensure they stay in good condition, so this was very insulting to me. The looks they gave me and the faces they made were so accusatory, it was just terrible. This is the last time I will ever shop at this location, not to mention Lenscrafters as a whole. Paying such a high premium for glasses, you would expect some sort of lifetime warranty on defects. Not so at all, and not even a hair of respect for the paying customer. Spend your money on a more appropriately priced pair of glasses and AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. read more
