Rented a Sony A7III, was forced to leave a $4,296.00 deposit, upon return they kept my deposit and said camera was damaged... it was not

I write guides for dSLR/Mirrorless cameras so I pretty much rent every mid-level+ Canon and Nikon when it is released. LensPro always gets the new models quickly, and they have it ready early in the day for pick-up. Whenever there was an issue or delay, they went out of their way to track down the shipment or get the item from another location. Every camera body and lens I have rented has been in great condition, and without any issues. I'd arranged to rent a lens from BorrowLenses for an Alaskan wilderness photography trip but received an email the night before it was due to arrive, saying that they'd had a system "issue" & the lens had been canceled. With less than 1 day before I was leaving to go from FL to AK for a wilderness photography trip, I contacted LensProToGo & they arranged to have the exact lens I desired flown to the small town where I was in AK. I needed/wanted a jib for a production gig and didn't have a resource near Buffalo to get one. LOVED working with the folks at LensProToGo. - knowledgable - warned me of a small pin that frequently gets broken by users who aren't aware how to properly setup the unit so that I could avoid a replacement fee if it broke - very aware of shipping options and got the unit to a local UPS store near where my shoot was going to be so there'd be no pickup or delivery timing issues that would get in our way - equipment (Kessler Pocket Jib Traveler) arrived on time, in great condition, worked flawlessly and the overall transaction was a delight! read more

Great experience with LensProToGo on a rental of a Canon 100-400mm lens for a safari trip. I received a personal phone call upon ordering. The lens arrived well packed in a Pelican case with labels for return. The rental cost was truly well worth it as it made my trip, and purchasing a lens this size was not practical for me. Insurance for damage was reasonable priced. My only wish is that there could have been insurance for loss as that was a big concern while on my trip. read more

But I have never had anything but good things to say about LPTGO. I know some users may find it frustrating to have to speak about your rental before they ship it but LPTGO has the best interest in you & your rental! I was able to run by every question/thought/concern I had about my rental & gear & their staff is truly knowledgable about their equipment. I'd recommend ordering for an extra day before you need the equipment so you can make sure all the pieces work & you can play with it ahead of time.... I had a truly exceptional experience with LPTG and wanted to share my story and how the LPTG team went above and beyond with their customer service promise. Over the Labor Day weekend, I had a very big, very expensive wedding to cover and because I had especially great subjects in the bride and groom, I had big plans for their photography. I purchased furniture and props for the photo locations, brought on additional photogs to cover the details while I concentrated on the bride and groom and generally-speaking, invested a great deal of my own money to get the exact sort of shots I wanted and all of these photos relied on me having the Canon 400 lens, which I don't own, but was able to rent from LPTG. The wedding was on Sunday and with everything going on (Friday night rehearsal dinner, Saturday prep, etc.), I was completely distracted and when I went to LPTG on Saturday to pick up the lens, I was devastated to realize that they were closed and that I wouldn't be able to retrieve the lens - the lens that everything I had planned was relying on. I left a voicemail as a whim, shared my confusion and pleaded my case, although I never imagined that anyone would respond; after all, it was my oversight and it was the holiday weekend. I resigned myself to the idea that I would have to go to Calumet to rent the lens that I needed - and put up my entire life savings and future first-born as collateral. What a worse case scenario, Once I got to Calumet, I started the process of a rental and in the midst of that transaction, I got a call from the LPTG team. They had checked their voicemail and realized the mistake that I had made, so they returned my call and offered to send one of their employees out to the office to open up and get me the equipment that I had rented. I was ecstatic and overwhelmed that a group of folks would be willing to interrupt their long holiday weekend to make my life easier when I was clearly in the wrong and had gotten days confused. I was so grateful that I stopped and got the gentleman that opened up the office for me a $50.00 Dunkin' Donuts gift card just as a way to thank him for going out of his way - it was the least that I could do for making my vision for photos a reality. What phenomenal service. Each and every interaction that I've had with the LPTG team has been easy, friendly and going out of their way to ensure client satisfaction seems to be the rule, rather than the exception. I've used their lens service a number of times already and have been nothing but happily satisfied. I was super weary about renting a lens - just because I have had awful experiences with delivery, etc. I ordered on a Friday and there is a vetting out process where they like to call first time renters. Well I hadn't received my call on Monday and needed the lens by Thursday. I contacted customer care - where I spoke to Rob who let me know that because of their recent break-in that their phone systems were acting up. He offered to call me directly right away to speed up the process so that they lens was shipped out on time. Wow, what a terrible experience. I just created a yelp account JUST so I could leave a bad review for this company. Bought a refurbished camera from them. It was broken. Sent it in to get fixed. Can't get fixed because Nikon doesn't fix internal body damage. Didn't get the warranty activated within 30 days, so it became invalid. That's fine, completely my fault, I don't blame them for that. What I do blame them for is the customer service guy on the phone. Incredibly rude and tried to make me sound like an idiot. It's bad enough that they could sell a camera with internal body damage, but that's the risk you run when you buy refurbished. But, I will absolutely 100% never EVER buy anything from a company that employs someone like that guy on the phone. He needs to be fired. read more

LPTG is THE BEST lens rental place that i have rented from. Not only did they have the last minute gear I needed, but it was such a breeze to rent from them. You have the option of picking up from the facility or having it mailed. If you need to extend your reservation its as easy as logging into your account and the customer service is awesome. Customer service is a joke. Didn't even get a chance to rent from them. Placed the order last week for a wedding this weekend. They require someone to talk to you before they ship your order. They attempted one call to me, yesterday, the day before the items were to ship, and then sent of plenty of emails to call call them back. Made several attempts to all them back but they were either closed or it went to voice mail jail. In my last email to them I asked them to reach out to me instead of demanding the client reach out to them and if this wasn't possible that they should probably cancel my order. Within 5 minutes my order was cancelled. Interesting how they have enough time to monitor emails and enough time to jump on cancelling orders, yet picking up the phone and dialing out to a customer is a challenge. Another sad example of customer service taking last place. I seem to be the only bad review thus far so hopefully they take something from this and I may have been a one off. Now its off to find some last minute services that would appreciate my business. read more

I tried to rent a camera Sony a7 iv from Lensprotogo and they denied me. I bet it's because I'm black and needed assistance with an extra camera isn't the fucking business you guys have. First. My card wouldn't work when trying to process the order in my name. So I had to make another account in my mother's name that actually accepted my order. After that they fucking denied me! Even after I called to explain the problem their check out on the website gave my card, told them about my life, expressed my need for a gig that I wanted to do a different style of documentary with and with a new fucking client of mine. They fucking denied me for no fuckkng l reason. I sent them every other "extra identification they needed" and it all fucking checked out as fucking Rod said. "I asked rod if I would for sure be ok to receive this camera after I send you all this personal information you are asking for" this fucking guy said "oh yeah as long as it's all there, you'll be good" that's bs man. You guys suck and thanks a lot. You guys added more stress to this fucking corona virus. Fucking up how I feed my family. You guys fucking are awful and my friend gave me the referral because you guys have been a help for him for almost 4 years now. Maybe because he's white! I always for that we are capable or responsible enough. So I get it. I don't care how many good reviews you guys have, this review matters even if it's 1 out of 20. It's not personal like it may seem but this is really just completely bs that you guys deny anyone who actually checks out with what you guys guidelines say. So far, everything is as good as I could have hoped for - I was able to extend my rental more than once, and I was thrilled that they even had the specialty lens that I was looking for. The lens was in excellent working order and looked as much. It was fantastic! Now if only they would get back to me about my final invoice - I returned the lens a week ago and I've only gotten an email that says, "Our production team will be cleaning and testing the gear shortly and will let you know if there are any issues. You will receive a separate email with your final invoice to keep for your records." Well, as far as I know there shouldn't have been any issues, but I'd really like that confirmation. A week is a bit long to wait to find out. Also, I have to wonder, didn't they check the equipment before they shipped it out? Shouldn't this be quick? A sort of - this is what it was like when it left - is it the same? Yes, Ok, good. Send out the invoice. read more
