I'm surprised this place has a high a review it does. Been here my whole life and been to Mex lots of times so I know Mexican flavors. The hotdog ... not bad maybe like 7/10 but it was f $12!!! Ok whatever got the carne asada quesadilla I k ow there's cheese from Sonora that's salty I know that but damn this was the saltiest greasiest quesadilla I've ever had. 2 items $25 ridiculous af. read more

Leo's hot dogs at Leo's hot dog stand is BOMB. The Sonoran dogs are amazing and the guys working are always so friendly. Try to learn a little Spanish but if not, it's actually kind of fun to try and communicate with the guys. They are set up in the parking lot of a small strip center after the businesses close and it super cool. They have tables and chairs set up and even throw over some fun table covers. We were craving a late night snack and stumbled upon this true hidden gem of a food truck in downtown Chandler. Their menu is small with only one type of hot dog (their signature Sonoran) but that's how you know it's good. We ordered one Sonoran dog and one of each taco they offered (carne asada and abodaba). They came out fairly quickly and are LOADED! The tacos were so flavorful and every bite had me wanting more. The tortilla had a delicious crisp on the outside. The hot dog was generously filled and I especially loved the bread. The people are sooo friendly and nice! They technically close as 12am and we came a little later - they said that they will stay open as long as there are customers. Definitely want to come back to try a quesadilla and more tacos. Cash only but they also accept zelle as payment. Please come support this local small business! read more

WOW! If you've never had a Sonoran Hot Dog before, you do NOT know what you are missing! A.MAZ.ING! I've seen Leo Hot Dogs at this location in passing, but never thought anything of it. It wasn't until I saw a Yelp recommendation that it really piqued my interest. Being that it was located close to where I live, I thought I'd drive down there and check it out. I'm glad that I did! He's located at the corner of Pecos and Arizona Ave. There were tables there in case you don't want your order to-go. Not ever having them before, I blindly went into it and ordered two with everything on it. My Spanish isn't good enough to know what the listed ingredients were and, perhaps, my male ego got in the way and I didn't ask for a translation. You only live once, right? Hah! I also thought that by ordering them "as-is," I'd be getting the full experience of what a Sonoran Hot Dog truly is. When they arrived, they looked glorious. They were overflowing with toppings. Let me tell you, these were the messiest things I've ever eaten in my life, but SO worth it! Believe me, I won't hesitate to go back for these. Side note, when I was waiting for my order, I was watching them prepare other orders. The burritos and quesadillas are huge! I may have to try those at some point as well! This is probably the best hot dog I've ever had. If you scroll through all the reviews on here, you'll see a lot of that because it's true. I've had a few Sonoran-style dogs in the area, but this one is by far my favorite. My favorite part is the crispy bun that stayed crispy throughout despite all the toppings put on. I got my two dogs with everything on them, but you can, of course, get them modified to how you want. This little pop-up stand comes in the evening, but you can find it on the corner of Pecos & Arizona. Since the businesses are closed, you can park right in front of them and walk up to the stand. When I came it was rather late in the evening and still there were a few orders in front of me. read more

Well worth the trip to Downtown Chandler! Magnificent Sonoran hot dogs! They take cash or Zelle for payment, so plan ahead for that if necessary. There are a few picnic tables under the canopy beside the food truck if you wish to eat your food on-site. The weather is lovely right now for a good meal outdoors! They are situated on the NE corner of Pecos Road and Arizona Ave, and it is a mellow spot with a decent number of parking spots. I will definitely be pleased to return for more! read more

The absolute best Sonoran hot dog! Do not expect to find a restaurant. This is a cart with coolers for drinks, a folding table/chairs under an easy up. With that out of the way, just ease into it and enjoy it for what it is. These dogs are ridiculous! I recommend you let him slap everything on your dogs and get some roasted peppers on the side. So good. Bring cash and have fun! read more

Was in the area to actually get hot dogs from another place but they were closed and HAPPILY came across this stand. Absolute no regrets they were delicious you know a place is good bc of their buns! Very soft yet some crunch bc he put them on the griI just had to get some to go to share at home & even during my 20+ minute drive they were still perfect. He was very nice, es buena gente. What We Ordered: - Coke + Lime: my good ole standby. Carbonation was just right, and the lime adds the perfect balance of sweetness of the Coca Cola. - San Antonio Tortilla Soup (not pictured): My coworker friend ordered as she is a creature of habit when she sees Chicken Tortilla Soup. She was so quick to try as it was recommended by the hostess who sat us. She'd be the judge of it! And the verdict... she really enjoyed it and said that could have easily been her lunch. - Steak Taco: my coworker said they were pretty good, and very filling as she needed a box to take away as the soup was so filling. - Steak Burger: when ordering, they mentioned due to fat content, this had to be well done. That should have been my indicator to order something else. When it came, I was quickly disappointed and wish I went with the regular burger for the same price point. It came with tomato, lettuce, pickle, and onion versus this one which was pretty plain. Between it being fairly lackluster with toppings, the temperature on the cook deterred me from enjoying. Overall, I wasn't impressed with my food and was also disappointed this location doesn't offer cheesecake like the one in Jacksonville did. Perhaps this was a seasonal item, and I hope that it becomes a staple on all J. Alexander's nationwide as that cheesecake was DIVINE. A miss for me in terms of this visit, but my coworker enjoyed her tortilla soup and tacos so I settled on a 4 Star. I'd return and try different items next time if in the area again for work.

It was a lot cooler than expected on the patio which was awesome, as I was worried about sitting outside when it was 104. Great job with that Mexicano! But once we got our food our waitress stopped by to check in once and we didn't really see her until the end of our meal after that. No refills on water or check-in to see if we wanted additional drinks (which I feel like happened the last time we were in as well). There's a gentleman with a tiger tattoo on the back of his neck who stops in at some people's tables to check in and have chat, he's never stopped in with us.. it all just seems like the customer isn't a priority at this restaurant. The food is delicious, the drinks are great but for the prices, I want to feel more valued. I want to have that fun experience of going out for drinks in a vibrant high-end cantina where you feel connected with the staff. We'll go back but I would really love to see a more engaged customer support team.

I finally tried Leo Hot Dogs in Chandler, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The Sonoran hot dogs were some of the best I've ever had loaded with flavor, perfectly cooked, and packed with fresh toppings. The food was authentic, delicious, and worth every bite. I first had Micky's at their Downtown Mesa location. While I do believe that location is still much better, this place isn't bad. This second location is in a more spacious spot and there's more seating. The Sonoran hot dog tastes different but it wasn't bad for the price. I would pass on the $12 carne asada fries though. The salsa bar has some standard offerings. I'm glad they were able to open s second location. I wish them much success.
