There are multiple parking areas, two walking paths (1 mile and 2 mile). A bridle trail for horses. A boathouse for rentals. A small dock area. Platform for shore fishing. Several small ponds and of course the main Lake. A bathhouse with restrooms, showers and changing areas. A small concession stand. Picnic tables, benches and grills. A pavilion. A Sandy beach and swimming area. Lots to offer for sure. The nature preservation is wonderful. No paved walking paths. But the smaller of the two is fairly flat. They just added an archery location with targets two summers ago. Even if you are not able/want to use the trails, there are still plenty of areas to park and sit or sit at a table and enjoy the outdoors. It's nice that it's not too overwhelming with people as it's size allows for numbers but also for a quiet and calm experience as well. Lots of doggies walk the trails too.

The stand is made of wood, laser-cut, and then carefully hand-sanded by volunteers--each one finished with such care. The calendar itself changes monthly, with sturdy cards featuring beautiful photographs from parks all across Summit County. It's a simple piece, but beautiful in its craftsmanship and the story behind it. I live near this park and have been using it for over 60 years. Here is some updated information:…read moreSwimming is no longer allowed. (for humans) Dogs can swim on Thursdays only. There is no charge to get in. The paved road around the lake has been split into a one-way driving/biking road and a with an adjacent walking lane. There is a Hike/bike trail called The Freedom Trail that borders this park. Metro Parks Summit County is going to add a connector trail between them in 2026. The Freedom Trail in this area is a rail trail, so it is pretty flat. There is an area called Tallmadge Meadows that to me is a separate park, because the two areas have very different prior ownership and history, but Metro Parks considers them to be the same park. The parking for Tallmadge Meadows is right around the corner from South River Rd. on South Main St. (Rt 91). There is also a trailhead in Munroe Falls for the Summit County Bike and Hike Trail. It is about a ¼ mile North of South River Rd and runs along the Cuyahoga River. I used to be a Firefighter/EMT in Munroe Falls and it was not unusual for us to get called out to the "Metro Park" and have to ask, "which one"? All 3 of these are great parks and I consider myself luck to live in between them.

There's gate and fence are safe. There's are amenities like a doggy fountain, benches, trash, bags. The only issue is when it has rained, the park is a mess. Water must not drain well and it becomes a swamp in the following days. I've lost a shoe in the mud before. And Winnie has lapped up muddy water puddles before. We've never had a problem with any other dogs or owners. Highly recommend!

Each with an enclosed fence, obstacles to help with agility & confidence and a large field surrounding the area. Dedicated to the local K9 police dog force, it offers paths (although I didn't have a chance to explore these) that weave through tall grasses. The only complaint I have is with the typical irresponsible pet owners failing to obey the local defecation law(s) . Yes, the trash was over flowing but is it really that hard to place your dogs poop bag next to the trash can; apparently. Anyways, check this place out; you or your pet wont regret it!

I…read morehad never been here before, but my sister asked me if I wanted to go and take my kids for some fun. The entrance comes up quickly when you're driving, so make sure you don't miss it! We immediately went to the park, and my kids had an absolute blast. They're 3 and 1, but I saw plenty of older kids having fun as well. We checked out the lake, which was super pretty (watch out for goose poop!). I noticed some people fishing, and it looked like there were canoes around too! We then decided to have some lunch. There are plenty of picnic tables, so finding a spot to sit is not a problem. We ended the visit with one more trip to the park and then left. My kids were EXHAUSTED afterward, and I always appreciate a place that can tire them out. I'd like to visit again on a solo trip and walk a few miles around the lake next time!

There's a nearby park that has alot of activities for kids, decent restrooms and even canoe rentals. We hiked the entire trail around the pond and it was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. It can be really muddy depending on when you go. Structures are in solid standing. Trail features small slopes so it's not completely flat. Great place to visit.

My dog is one of the very few things in my life that truly make me smile so I decided to take him…read moreto a park neither of us have ever visited before for his 7th birthday. Like me, Timmy is weary of strangers & since it was July 4th you couldn't possibly avoid them. So since it was so crowded I couldn't really explore this trail & ended up only walking a small 1 & 3/4 mile trail, dogging oncoming bikers the entire time. At the beginning of the trail, there are a few spots to have a picnic & a neat (what appeared to be) train station that I have yet to explore. However, I failed to see a trashcan anywhere in site, not even near the picnic areas so if you bring your dog(s), be prepared to carry their waste the entire route or leave your smelly trash in your hot car :/ Currently you may also enjoy the overwhelming smell of new asphalt & near by car fumes as you are extremely close to the road. I found this disappointing because parks are generally meant to be peaceful, quiet, soothing....I much rather hear natural sounds than noisy vehicles & headache inducing fumes from hot tar trails. But on a brighter note, if you enjoy biking, hiking or are in a motorized wheelchair all can enjoy this path as it is smooth and clean. There's cute little historical tidbits along the way for all you history buffs that reveal the once bustling town of Botzum, Ohio. And, to my surprise, considering how many ignorant dog owners that seem to suffocate my environment- everyone enjoying the park that day all had their pets on a leash & there was no tip towing around piles of dog poop :) There's much left to explore though so hopefully I can provide a better review of this trail in the future ;)
