They look fantastic and Wayne and his guys did a great job with 30 year old sport seats that are a little tricky to work on and have some older plastic parts that need to be handled correctly or risk breaking them. Once assembled, the seats look factory new. The leather upholstery kit I bought matched the OEM exactly and I wanted the upholstery to look factory BMW and I think it turned out a "10". And the old heating elements still work in the new seats too! I have included the before and after shot and some installed in the car. My only advice is be sure you allow enough time for the work to be done and have an idea what this type of work will cost and time involved in getting it right.

She bought it in 1967 and had it reupholstered 18 years ago with beige silk brocade with very faint pink highlights. This couch was for guests when they visited. She passed and left it for me, knowing that I would take care of it. Even though it is beautiful, it is a very light color and I am concerned about that because I am going to use it every day so I had a cover made for it. This is where Pieced on Earth, Janet and her staff come in. I chose a deep green suede material. The first time I saw just one pillow completed, I almost cried. It is absolutely beautiful. She personally designed the covered for the rest of the couch adding customized touches that made it look so close to upholstered that I just had to hug it, I feel all the love she put into it. I discussed the history and she understood my desire to honor my mother and take care of it. Her attention to detail is a testament to her craftsmanship. She wanted to make sure I am happy. And I tell you she made me so very happy. I just wanted a customized slip cover. She discussed piping details with me, that I didn't even think of and how she secured the bottom looks almost like she removed the existing fabric and covered the frame. It is beautiful. She even detailed the base at the of the back of the couch cover. The curved section was a little tricky, but she took her time and looked at it checking with me to make sure, it was to my liking, I also told her it was too low for me. Solution, she had me order some 6 "wooden legs that look simply fabulous, like they were there all along. As we discussed the cover, I got a good feeling, she understood how important this process was for me. She is so personable and talented. I trusted her with a couch that has a lot of history and she respected it, took care of it and covered it with love. She is just the best and I am so glad I met her. The bottom was falling out. The springs were so far gone that every time you sat in it you felt like you might actually fall through. Artisan Interiors rebuilt the interior completely, eight-way hand-tied springs, the whole structure, and saved the original fabric his grandmother had chosen. All of it. They polished the wood while they had it. Two to three weeks, reasonable price, no drama. David runs the operation and was easy to talk to from the first conversation. Knowledgeable, straightforward, no overselling. It's a family business -- his father is the upholsterer -- and it shows in how they treat what you bring them. I didn't fully understand how damaged it was until I got it back. Now it feels the way it was supposed to feel. Solid. Sturdy. You can sit in it comfortably without holding your breath. First we meet in the office to go over colors and fabrics. David had incredible knowledge and great suggestions of what would fit with our space and accounted for our pets. We landed on a thus great blue color that wouldn't be harmed by cats and great at dealing with moisture. Then his people came to our home, quickly but carefully took all the chairs and bench and they were off. When they returned a few weeks alter everything was in perfect condition and the chairs looked great! Would and have recommended David and his team for future furniture needs!

I…read moretook in the tattered cushions from a pair of barstools to Pabros, and asked them to cover them in leather, which were originally covered in Naugahyde type substance which did not hold up. As you can see in the photos, the barstools are now Beautiful, Better than new. They did it for a good price, and got it done faster than the original estimated time. These could have ended up in a landfill, but instead will give us many years of use.

So, I got on Yelp and decided to use their AI Assistant to find someone who could help. The responses came faster than I could have anticipated. The first one was from Leo at Leo's Upholstery. This was a business I was already considering, being somewhat close after 2 in Oakland. Leo's reviews are what sold me, outside of how responsive Leo was to my inquiry. I dropped off the chair, had a great chat with Leo about the chair, what we had done with it and other topics. He said it would be ready by Monday or Tuesday. I receive a text early on Tuesday morning, letting me know the chair was ready. We arranged a time and I came to get the chair. It was as promised. It's fixed (after many months of being damaged), it looks great, feels solid and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Leo will be my Go-To Furniture repair going forward.

After that company closed Leo started his own company and brought his son, Leo, Jr into this new business. Their knowledge of upholstery and reupholstery is broader and deeper than you will find at most companies their size. We made a mistake in buying a Mitchell Gold sofa and specifying a down seat and back. We sunk into the sofa in a way that was uncomfortable. We sought out Leo's Upholstery to firm up the seat and back pillows. Leo came to our house with several different foam density samples and wraps. He spoke very knowledgeably about the pros and cons of each. Leo took our cushions back to his shop and 10 days later we have a firmer, more comfortable sofa. Since then we've sent him 8 Pottery Barn dining chairs that have "bottomed" (i.e. lost the firmness of their seat cushion). We look forward to reusing these chairs rather than replacing them.
