Alls well that ends well! First let me say that the leather seats for my 1989 BMW 325i Convertible turned out amazing! They look fantastic and Wayne and his guys did a great job with 30 year old sport seats that are a little tricky to work on and have some older plastic parts that need to be handled correctly or risk breaking them. Once assembled, the seats look factory new. The leather upholstery kit I bought matched the OEM exactly and I wanted the upholstery to look factory BMW and I think it turned out a "10". And the old heating elements still work in the new seats too! I have included the before and after shot and some installed in the car. My only advice is be sure you allow enough time for the work to be done and have an idea what this type of work will cost and time involved in getting it right. read more

Definitely avoiding this place in the future. My kids destroyed the inside of my car, so I went to Foss Upholstery to try to get the seats and carpet changed out a few months ago. I was immediately turned off at the lack of customer service, the expensive prices, and the overall sense of entitlement I received from the owner. We went back and forth about the price of the seats (having had them changed in the past I knew around how much they should cost) but he brushed me off like I didn't know anything. I eventually told him that I'll probably weigh my options and come back, when he said not to bother and that it was a waste of his time. I was shocked and horrified at his lack of a professional attitude and relentless ego! I would rather purchase my own carpets and super glue them in than deal with this guy again. Foss Upholstery installed a new vinyl roof and front windshield for my 1968 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight. The roof is beautiful and was expertly installed, as was the window. Wayne Foss was personable and professional, and the work was done very quickly - way ahead of schedule. One note: do get a detailed estimate before having work done. My job cost over $400 more than expected, and I would have preferred knowing that ahead of time. That said, I highly recommend Foss Upholstery. I just bought a new F350 King Rancher I thought after spending all this money on a nice truck why put in crappy car seats. So I looked up a few places and I drove by this one in Alameda a few times so I thought why not give them a try I told him what I was looking for he told me it was possible so I went ahead and did it. I liked it so much. That he's doing a motorcycle seat for me now wrapped in leather with custom stitching. If you have anything that you want to do to your car's boats motorcycles mopeds anything you can think of For upholstery, Who knows. then give these guys a call or just stop by the shop, they always have some cool stuff going on. I feel my pocket got picked!!!!! I had the front of my RV re-carpeted. I supplied the carpet. Wayne gave me an estimate of 4 hour job at $80/hr. I had some one else out of town give me an estimate of $65/hr plus materials and would take 3-4 hours. I figured I'd go local and avoid driving my rig back to Napa. He told me to bring it in on Weds and give him a heads up on Tues. Tues told me it was going to rain on Weds so make it Thurs. I changed my entire work schedule around for Thurs. Didn't start on it until late Thurs. never called me to let me know when it might be done. I stopped by after work on Thurs and found very little had been done and no one around to ask any questions. Got a call at 4pm on Friday that it was done. When I arrived the carpet looked great but he said it took him 10 hours and was going to charge me for 8 hours plus materials. I did not have it in my budget to pay an extra $400. He just told me to write it off my taxes. Never once was there a phone call to tell me it was going to be more and he also denied telling me his estimate was for 4 hours. He said the estimate was for 5-6 hours. Still I got charged 2 hours more over that estimate. Bad communication. If you have bottomless pockets they do good work. Get a written estimate for sure. I just got my CLK AMG 55 back from a short stay with Foss Upholstry and I'm very pleased! The original beige convertible top was worn and fraying around the back window. While it didn't leak - it looked horrible. Foss installed a factory warrantied, gorgeous black top that is water proof and works perfectly! They delivered on their price, time and quality! Sometimes the budget won't allow for new. My MC just turned over 40K mi and the vinyl seat was starting to tear. What to do? Get a soggy bum during rainy season when the padding soaks up rain? I tried eBay, CL, etc. looking for a new seat, and then decided to investigate reupholstering the OEM seat. Wayne's price was better than any of my replacement options, and in my case (with a little coordination) I got a one-day turnaround. The seat looks like brand-new and he only charged $100. I have two classic cars. Both are on the rare side of the spectrum and one of them is a former concours winner. I had no problem having Wayne and his team work on this car. I didn't know of Foss until the mechanic who works on my cars said he didn't want to work on a convertible top issue. He recommended Foss saying "he does concours work without the concours pricing". After working with Wayne to troubleshoot issues and get things back together again - I agree. The guy knows his stuff. The bill was more than fair and he even found some parts I needed for less than I was able to find them. read more
