I get a tic bite; I can't afford to get sick because I will be the only caregiver for recovery at home. I decide it prudent to follow the CDC recommended prophylactic treatment - one dose of an antibiotic, for high incident areas (New York State is one), within 72 hours. We both have a Primary Care physician at Phelps Croton, or so we have said. It's a simple request - there is a bite but no symptoms yet - you explain the situation to the intake office staff. The message back from a physician is to come back if and when I have symptoms; there is nothing else they can do. You ask for the practice manager who follows your logic, or so it seems, but repeats the message: Make an appointment when you have symptoms, otherwise go to an urgent care facility. Waiting for symptoms will be too late; I need this one dose asap, you explain - you are my primary care, or so I thought. Around it goes: again I explain - the antibiotic is to prevent a symptomatic disease, necessary within 72 hours of a bite, necessary to assure I can help my returning post-surgery spouse. Sorry, the manager says, but there is nothing I can do.

I had two very serious infections and still probably do . The laboratory they now use is Quest. Quest lost my samples, both blood and urine. Did anyone from the doctors office call me and tell me this ; absolutely not. I called again today to find out if the results came back and they must've by now if they didn't lose the lab results again and G.G , a nurse Promised me that she would call me back this evening and tell me the results of my blood and urine tests This is the second time this nurse has failed to call me back. I used to love this doctor and I used to love this place . What I have is what many women have and it could be life-threatening. As the infection crawls up into the abdomen it can kill you. This is a medical fact. I was also told that my 2022 medical reports were not uploaded to their computer. In 2022 they did not have a computer and now they do. What good does it do if they did not upload your prior health conditions? Seems like very shoddy medical care to me. They don't really seem to care anymore. The nurse that was really smart is on maternity leave with her month old baby now but still answers the phone part time. She has absolutely no power apparently. There are so many new people and large turnover that it signals to us this is a bad sign. also don't understand if she's on maternity leave why she is answering the phone in Lieu of the nurses that are not actually on maternity leave! OK I understand the lab screwed up and lost my samples but the doctors office never notified me of this tiny little detail. So I'm just hanging here getting sicker and sicker. Don't they have an official duty to tell me that my blood and urine samples were lost in transit or some other BS story? Why did they not contact me immediately. This has been going on since the beginning of June. Is now July 1. Things have really changed since this Doctor has signed up with Northwell Health, formally Phelps. Everything about this practice has changed and it's just another place with factory doctoring. I'm a little bit heartbroken, I'm incredibly disappointed, and yes I am upset. This is no way to run a railroad. This is no way to run a medical practice. I hate that I have to write this review. They should have told me that the lab lost my samples IMMEDIATELY , instead of waiting for me to call to ask for my results. I'm not even sure if I believe this story anymore because of the behavior of the entire Urgent care attitude. I trusted this doctor with my life and she saved my life in 2022 but of course she doesn't remember anything because it happened to me not to her. There are no medical records for her to look up on thecomputer because they failed to upload anything I guess it was too much trouble for them. It's been almost a month and I still haven't gotten an answer. Tell me if you wouldn't be upset about this? My husband doesn't know I'm writing this because he gets really upset when people treat me like crap he doesn't care if it's a doctor or a plumber. He's not on this website as much as I am. We mostly review for other people to warn them of the dangers of certain places that we feel are incompetent and unsanitary and just don't care. Could Not be more disappointed. How do they get away with this? Thinking of complaining to appropriate agency. I have already notified everyone in my family and if I die because of their incompetence, they might be held responsible. To all doctors; if the lab notified you that they spilled lost or threw the samples out the window in transit you must notify the patient. Common sense not so common. Yes I am infuriated. One more weird thing happened. The nurse who failed to call me back twice now asked if I wanted to come in for a third time to give samples and I said no. Asked was there a problem and she said no there wasn't. Apparently there is a problem. If the doctor is not honest with you and tells their nurse which is just my guess here not to respond because samples were lost for the second time, that is what is called malpractice. Why can I not get an answer to a simple blood and urine test? I would love a response from this place but I know I won't get it.

Got to my appointment, she comes into the room without any of my medical records and tells me that I have a viral infection and that I should just take over the counter medicine. Proceeds to tell me also that I should just quit smoking cold turkey. For $30.00 ( my co-pay) I could of stayed at work and self medicated myself. Fast forward to 6 days later, go back to the same place, see a completely different doctor who tells me that I have a severe ear infection and bronchitis and that I should of been on medication last week. Dr. Klyatis in my opinion is not a good doctor at all, has no bed side manners and is very rude. So in 6 days I spent over $100.00 between co-pays, over the counter medicine and then my new medicine. I have told the nurses, and the doctor that I saw on Tuesday 9/30/16, I will never see that woman again and I don't understand how she is a doctor within your practice. Evidently having the very first appointment of the day does not relieve you from being forced to wait for 45 minutes for the nurse who will be doing your bloodwork to decide to arrive to work that day. Then, a week later being forced to wait for nearly an hour after appointment time, at which point asking how long it will be to receive a shrug from the receptionist. Not even a grunt of acknowledgement, let alone an apology. I'm not above waiting. I understand it's part of the process of seeing a doctor. If the doctor was in surgery prior to the day's appointments, had car troubles, even if they ran late for a not so important reason I can be empathetic as long as I am given the courtesy of a professional explanation. I also work by appointment and I guarantee if I acted as carefree towards my clients' time I would be out of business. And so I will find another primary care doctor who is more considerate of their patients' time.

She has taken the time to answer all of my questions despite how busy she may be. I've also found the receptionists there to be polite each time I've spoken to them. Dr. Evans' website is also easy to navigate. Overall I believe dermatology offices can become quite busy since they not only conduct assessments but have to perform lengthy procedures depending on their patients' needs. I just came back from a facial with Carmen, who works with Dr. Evans. Her technique and room is kept neat and clean. I felt nurtured and relaxed from my treatment. I believe she has been in this line of work for 35 years. It was nice that throughout the facial she asked if I was comfortable. Also, I was pleasantly surprised that while I was waiting for my face mask to dry, I also received a lovely foot treatment as well. I highly recommend Carmen.
