We bought a zero turn and a dr roto tiller there last year. Was greeted immediately by a very knowledgeable sale guy. He asked the right questions and didn't try to upsell us. Had an issue with the tiller a few weeks after so we took it in. They repaired it without question. I spoke with the owner while waiting on the repair and he was kind and respectful. After reading the prior reviews I really see how people don't take responsibility for themselves and just want to blame the business. It's sad because this business has a great selection and fair prices. I researched the prices and no one was selling cheaper. read more

Horrible service. lucky I got the price of blades refunded. I had Leonard's pick up my scag to do the annual service. they put 16.5" blades on it, should have been 18". I don't know if they even changed the oil or lubed. They were supposed to fix my front tires. neither were done. I paid $600 to do all of the work myself. The Leonard name meant something at one time in Fort Worth. it doesnt today. Means take your business elsewhere. What a shame! read more

The customer service is horrible! Went in to purchase a $2k + lawn mower. I was the only person in the store and there were three employees NOT one of them acknowledged me that I was in the store. Then went to the counter to pick up an ordered part and they would not acknowledge me then their response finally was "What's up". Never said anything after that to me. This was just one occasion that their customer service was horrible. When I called parts to check on my part last week the guy who answered was rude and then hung up on me. when they were downtown, service was king! but like most established service companies that are living on their past reputation, not so much. i dropped a stihl chain saw for service. the guys at the desk were nice enough. they said it would take a few days. three weeks later, i called to check on it and they said, "they couldn't find it but would looking for it" and would give me a call. another week rolls around and still nothing. after asking to speak to the mgr. i was told he would call me back. miraculously, an hour later they called to say it was ready to pick up. paid the bill $150 hr and took it home. ready to us and realized they squirted some carb cleaner in it, wiped it down and put a new air filter on it and called it good. ran like it did when i took it in! rebuilt the carburetor myself and it works as it should. what a hose job! read more

I rarely post on businesses but this is an exception. I brought my two year old echo blower in because it wouldn't start on 12/19. On 12/30 I called to check on it and they said it should have already been done and they would get right on it. On 1/6 I went by and got the same story, should have been done and they would get right on it. Sure enough later that day they called and said it was done. Went to get today, they replaced the carburetor for $130, when I asked why it was not under a warranty since the echo has a 5 year warranty they go carburetors aren't covered and was very rude. He also acted like I should thank him for getting the blower out quickly after my second follow up. They may be great for the trades but I was very disappointed as a consumer FYI I bought this blower and several other echo products from them. Guess ing no more. read more

We bought 2 expensive pieces of equipment within the last 6 months spending over $11K. The second piece of equipment we had delivered, the person accidentally left the key on draining the battery when he removed it from the truck. We tried charging it and it is drained. Called the store asking if we could stop by and get a replacement battery; well apparently you have to go through heck to get the battery replaced. First they want us to take the battery to the store for them to look at, and leave. Then come back and pick up another battery at a later date. We live an hour away so it is not just a hop, skip and jump and explained that to them. Mind you this battery is probably worth $50 to $75, and really is not worth the time to do all of this. If this is their customer services, then we will not buy anything further from this business. Tried to speak to the manager or owner and that did not happen. Shame on them for being so petty over a simple battery... I bet they are the type of business that just ignores the problem hoping it will go away. read more

I've been buying lawn equipment from Leonard's and having maintenance performed since the early 1990's when they were on Belknap street downtown. I have always been happy with their service and professionalism. Today I take my lawnmower back in after having it repaired because the personal-pace feature was not working as well prior to the repair. Instead of listening and investigating the issue, the first thing the front desk guy says is "we didn't fix that component". WTF! He's indicating Instant denial and not believing me. He brings the mower back out after 2-3 minutes and asks me to test it. Doesn't tell me if anything was done to it and when my initial test is skeptical, says my expectations of the feature is wrong. Not the way to treat customers. read more

Whether it's the flawed organization of the customers' belongings, the mismanagement of seemingly easy tasks, or the utterly unbelievable disrespect that oozes out of every orifice of its employees, Leonard's Farm and Ranch Store is a pure and utter disappointment. If you are looking for a sub-par repair shop, look the other way because this wretched scam of a "business" isn't even worthy of that rating. For a repair shop that is genuinely decent, look no further than A-B Lawn & Garden in River Oaks. Not only is this place decent, but they are truly exceptional at what they do. I called 5 minutes before they closed and they told me not to bother coming by they had already shutdown their credit card system and they would be closed before I could get there. I purchased a riding lawn mower on a Friday and was told I would receive a phone call the following Monday to inform me the order had been sent and a possible date of delivery. By the following Wednesday I had to call the store myself to find out about the order. 1st attempt was put on hold for 6 minutes. Called back 2nd time and did talk to a salesman who said he was a new employee and could not answer my questions but would have the manager call me back. This was at 9:00 am. At 2:00 pm I had to call back for the third time since the manger had not returned my call. Talking with the manager was a joke. He never let me finish a sentence of the reason I had called. I asked him repeatedly to please "let me finish". Never got the chance. He and I both were yelling on the phone by end of conversation. FINAL result- I called him back to cancel the order. He said that was a good idea he could no longer order this terrible mower and he didn't want my business. HUMMMM nice to know. I drove to the store and when I went inside you could cut the tension with a knife. Manager was called to front counter and he was just as mad as I was about the entire transaction. He was rude right off the bat. I tried to reason with him and let him know that I was not upset about having to wait for him to have a larger order to save on freight, that's good business, and it was not his fault if the order was going to take longer than normal ... but he never heard a word. Because he would not stop yelling at me and would not let me finish a sentence. We spent the entire time having to talk over each other. He said I was rude, mean, worse customer ever, never to come back, threatened to call the police because I was harassing him. I also agreed that he was rude, hateful, and was the worse manager I had ever encountered and to go ahead and call the police. After I signed the return he yanked it so hard from me he almost tore it in half. Left his place of "business" and have now been told by many people and other same type "businesses" that this store treats most of their customers with the same type of attitude. Bullying is allowed, and especially if you are a woman. read more

They will try to scam you. My less than one year old lawnmower was having some carburetor issues. I contacted Leonard's and they said they could fix it. I told them that the mower was less than a year old and was under warranty and they told me that the carburetor wouldn't be covered under the warranty because I had left gas in it. I informed them that I had not left gas in the mower and had properly winterized it. I took the mower in, they called me about a week later and said it was going to be $130. I asked them what was wrong with it and they said it needed a brand new carburetor and a new air filter. This is when I became suspicious because I had just replaced the air filter a month prior, it had been used maybe 4 times with the new filter. I informed that guy on the phone of that and he argued with me about it. I told him I would just pick the mower up and for them to not replace the carburetor. Took the mower home, my dad came over and we removed 4 screws to get to the carburetor, sprayed the choke with some carburetor cleaner and moved the choke around a little then it started right up. I've used to mower twice since then with no problems. The choke was just stuck and needed some lubricant. And if it does come to needing to replace the carburetor, they are $22 on amazon and take about 30 minutes to change. Do not trust this business, they will lie to you and try to rip you off. read more

I have never seen a business run more poorly than this one, the worst customer service I have ever seen they have no respect for their customers I feel like I've been robbed. I bought a quick loader weed trimmer head the one where you cut short pieces of string and insert them into the hole and they lock in, well this head must have been faulty because it would just throw the string out I took it back they said I needed bigger string after buying the string they recommended so I bought another 14 dollar roll of string and it did the same thing with the bigger string constantly throwing the string out only with the bigger string if it threw the string out on one side it would wobble to much to continue to use it, and all this happened and I only used it two times. So I wanted to swap it out for a different head they refused they would not refund my money or swap it out for another head so I threw that head in the trash and they accused me of throwing it at the employee I'm sure to justify their position of refusing to refund me and they also refused to refund me the money for that second roll of string I argued with them about it and they threatened to call the cops on me, so now I'm out almost 60 dollars with nothing to show for it, the poorest customer treatment I've ever experienced I will never return to this store on Camp Bowie in west Fort Worth. These people do not deserve to be in business not sure how they have stayed opened this long. read more

I advise you to NOT shop here. I have a Stihl blower failing after 2 years, just1 month outside of the required EPA warranty. The dealership refused to work with myself or Stihl to reduce the price of repairs. They did waive the diagnostic fee "to do you a favor and get you out of here." Even after Stihl called and spoke with the manager/owner, they refused to adjust the repair bill, then told me that I shouldn't have called to Stihl, "to go over our head". This dealership was completely unwilling to work with me and the employees are some of the rudest I have met. I repeatedly told the Manager Don, that I don't blame him for the fault in the blower, yet he repeatedly told me "It's not our fault it failed". No matter how much I asked him to calm down and stop yelling at me, he continued to escalate the situation beyond repair. I asked the mechanic if this is common with Stihl, once again not blaming them for the failure, asking if this should be expected, but his response was "I'm not a psychic, I can't see the future". Rather than work with me on the repair bill(reduce by $34.00) and work with Stihl, he would rather waive the diagnostic bill($32.00) and send me away with a faulty blower. The manager's statement is that "Customers don't get to set our prices." They apply an additional mark-up to their parts prices beyond what Stihl has for MSRP. In my case it was an additional 20%. Even when Stihl called, they refused to honor Stihl's MSRP. Stihl's customer service is absolutely AWESOME. Louie, specifically, was great. He listened to me and understood the concerns and problems I had. In the end, he was unable to make any headway with the dealership who refused to provide any customer service whatsoever. Buy Stihl, just buy it anywhere but here. There are other dealerships within 5 miles that do not artificially inflate their parts/service pricing. read more

I rarely share an experience I've had with a business, but Leonard's is terrible. They don't communicate with each other, nor their customers. Their telephone skills are lacking, and I question their integrity. I purchased my Toro Zero Turn from Leonard's so when I needed warranty work done, I took it to them. I took my mower in and told the service man I had a small engine mechanic look at it and he said it needed a new coil. I had checked the warranty and confirmed that it had a 3 year warranty. The service man said it would take a week to 10 days. The entire experience was terrible. I called and was put on hold for 4-5 minutes, 3 different times, and I had to hang up and call back. After numerous calls, they finally got to my mower, 2 weeks later, and after checking everything, they finally decided it needed a coil. They reported they were waiting for approval from Kohler. They finally told me that it had only a 2 year warranty and they could repair it for $79.95, and it would take another week. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he confirmed the warranty as 2 years. I called back and asked to speak to the manager and explained the situation. He checked on it and called me back later, and confirmed that I was right. I don't believe that the people that sell this equipment, don't know the warranty on the engines. I checked and all their engines have 3 year warranties. I think it's criminal. I had to wait another week to pick up my mower, so it took them 3 weeks. I will never set foot in this store again. read more

This place is nothing but a rip-off. I took my rough running leaf blower to them because they were the closest authorized repair shop. They told me up front they would charge $32.50 just to look at my blower. I felt that was high but didn't think the repairs would be much since the blower was so new. They called and said the carburetor would have to be replaced and it would cost $123.00 to fix. The blower (same make and model) can be replaced for $165. ($150 on sale). I told them I would be by to pick it up. I went by, paid my $32.50 and after a while they brought out my blower and I noticed there was a big bag of parts attached to it. They hadn't put it back together. When I asked about putting it back together i was told they would have to charge me to put it back together. So I went from a rough running blower to a bag of parts, minus the $32.50 I had to pay them to take it apart. While I was waiting for them to bring out my blower I looked at some of the mowers, weedeaters, blowers, etc that they sold. Everything was over priced and could be bought else where much cheaper. I will never be going back and will do all I can to convince friends and family to go anywhere but there. read more
