Still a great place for houseplants. The place is under new ownership, Bobby sold it to an employee name Jayce. He's a great character and a fabulous person. He's brought in some newer plants that the old owner didn't carry. He's also growing some of his own in the inside green house. There was a great selection when we went. He is still getting things nailed down, tho the place isn't as clean as it used to be. Also some plants have some compacted soils, I never saw this before. The plants were healthy tho. We still visit every few weeks or so, especially since he's getting some new out of the norm plants. Prices are good, not overpriced, they carry a good balance between cost and demand. read more

My daughter was high bidder on a silent auction gift card that the Grow Plant Store, so generously donated to a recent fundraiser for The Cicada. When we entered we were immediately greeted and offered assistance if needed. The shop offered an amazing display and variety of plants, varying in size and price. The plants located on shelves further away from the windows tolerate less light compared to the ones on shelves closer to the light. This made it easy to narrow down choices for me. Nice selection of air plants occupied shelves near the cas register. Some pots are available for purchase. Inside the store is a small greenhouse displaying plants for purchase in the future. Street parking is available and highly recommend checking out Lucille's down the street for a great weekend brunch. read more

When we walked in we were quickly greeted and spent time perusing the variety of plants available. I decided on a small cactus and heartleaf philodendron for my office. Grow has a greenhouse where exotic plants are stored and merchandise available. The prices range from affordable to pricey. They have a mixture of indoor and outdoor plants with planters available as well. This shop gets plenty of natural light which adds to the healthy look of the plants. I am a huge fan of Grow! Probably like most people during the pandemic, I became a new plant parent and always on the lookout for new plants to acquire. Grow has a great selection of unique and common plants. [LOCATION/PARKING] You can't miss their silver airstream with the sign GROW on top of it. There's some parking spots in front and on the the side of the corner block that they are situated on. The airstream is small inside so only a few people can be in there at a time. If the door is closed, you can safely assume there is another customer/party in there. Once it's opened again, the staff will let you know to come inside. There's hand sanitizer and masks outside incase you forget yours. [SERVICE] My experience at Grow is always a great one. Everyone has been very kind and knowledgeable. I ask about plant care with the staff and their tips and tricks help me with how to successfully help my plant succeed. There are times where I even message them on Instagram if I need help at the moment and they are always quick to answer me. I definitely appreciate that! I also did free local shipping a few times when they were closed a few months ago. They missed my order once, and I was able to communicate with them in a quick and respectful manner to get my plant dropped off to my home the following day. [PLANTS] I enjoy that Grow has a nice selection of beautiful and unique plants. Compared to most places that sell plants, Grow's plants are on the smaller side and the price is more than other places as well. I think what really sets them apart is their quality of the plants. I have not had any incidents with bug growth, root rot, or anything bad that you might seem to come across with new plants. I personally enjoy my plants from Grow than other plants that I have purchased from big box stores like Lowe's, Calloway's, etc. Also supporting local plant shops makes me happy too! They restock on a weekly basis and do a great job at advertising on their social media and website. I enjoy looking through their website frequently to check out any new plants that have come in or any prospective plants that I want to purchase. read more

Hands down one of the cutest little plant shops I've ever seen. On a large lot on Magnolia Ave sits a vintage Airstream trailer. Under its awning are dozens of flourishing plants. Atop the trailer, four marquee letters spelling out the name of the shop, as well as their mission: Grow. This is one hip plant shop, seemingly made with Instagram in mind. Head inside the trailer and it's adorable with pink tile flooring, a sweet and adorable shop dog, and of course oodles of well-maintained plants. Lots of succulents and cacti, as well as more fern-like options. Really whatever your style of indoor garden, Grow has something you'll find unique and worthy of taking home. And of course they also sell a nice selection of pots and containers, all handmade by artisans from across the US. Grow is lovely. It's a wonderful place to visit and become inspired, and I'm confident that any plant lover would find something they'd like to take home, either for themselves or as a gift. read more

Decided to stop by this plant store today. They had some amazing selections and a lot to choose from. Different varieties and different sizes of almost all plants. While I did enjoy this shops selection very much, there were three things that I noticed causing me to go "oh goodness." The store had a very very mildew / moldy smell. I'm not sure if it was just from all the humidity or what but it was horrendous. Second was that I noticed there were quite a bit of gnats throughout the store. There were so many plants that I wanted but I didn't want to risk bringing home any bugs to my expensive plants. Third, the store was quite pricey. There were some plants that were a steal but some others that I was like "oh gosh that's a lot." It is a cute spot and I do recommend you stop in and get the experience for yourself. read more

I have conflicting opinions on this place. As a plant collector I love that they have rarer plants from time to time. I also really like that each of their plants are better cared for than if you were to buy them from a bigger nursery. I also love that it's locally owned. But wowowowowow they are so pricey. Like, unreasonably high sometimes. I think here you tend to pay more for the aesthetic and photo op. Usually you can find the same plants in the same condition for at least a quarter of the price at other local shops nearby and in dallas. Any time I have messaged them on Instagram they have been very responsive and nice. The customer service at the actual shop is a bit odd. Usually when I go here I'm greeted very simply and that's it. It's a bit awkward standing in a quiet airstream with one other person just looking around then leaving. You kinda feel like you're being watched the whole time, which I mean I get, but it just feels awkward. I usually feel bad when I leave without buying something. It's a cute place to look around at but I usually end up buying other places. read more

I struggled to write this review because I would prefer to support small businesses and small plant shops, especially over big box stores.. However, I will most likely not be ordering from them again, or at least until they've improved on their plant inspection practices. Their prices are not the most affordable. However, they do invest into their packaging a little more than some shops, so I can appreciate that. They're also a bit slower to process orders, but that's not a big deal and may be due to being a smaller business. They didn't respond to email, so I had to message them through Instagram for responses. The main problem is that out of both times that I've ordered from them, both times I've received plants with pest infestations. With the first order, they sent a triostar infested with millipedes and mealybugs. They were quick to respond on Instagram, and guaranteed me that pest infestation is "out of the ordinary" for their shop. They issued a refund for the infested triostar, and also gave very helpful advice on how to treat the plant. With the second order, they sent a maranta infested with mealybugs. I considered not messaging them about the maranta, as I know they're trying their best to provide for their customers. However, I also remember that this was not a cheap plant.. This time around, they were much slower to respond. They initially denied that it was a mealybugs infestation, even though the pictures showed the same fuzzy white specs living on the leaves as the triostar had. They claimed that the other marantas in their inventory don't have any pests, so that it must not be mealybugs on mine. I explained to them that they are the same fuzzy specs as the triostar.. and then they finally accepted the claim and issued a refund for the maranta. As I had told them, I really want to support their business because I love their plant selection, and especially how well they package plants for shipment. I also appreciate their customer service *to a certain extent. But I will most likely not order from them again, as I am wary of having another pest experience with them. read more
