This church is a wonderful place for young people and anyone older looking to mentor people. This is not an in and out kind of church, this is a church that wants to involve everyone and make everyone feel known. This church is known for the outreach they do in the community, truly practicing what they preach. This is the church you're looking for if you're looking for raw, messy, true faith. It's not a feel good place, but one will talk about the real issues that we all relate to and need grace for. Everyone here will make you feel welcomed no matter what background you come from.

Beautiful church!…read more Attended Sunday mass at 11:30 am and wasn't too packed. Was able to grab a seat near the front. The Priest was welcoming and lead a good mass. Also enjoyed this mass as it wasn't interrupted by people coughing or clearing their throat. Though there are kids screaming or crying. Since the church is less than a mile from me, I decided to walk as I knew parking would either be on the street or the parking garage.

When Pastor Ron came up to give the sermon, I expected some teaching or guidance. Instead, he mostly repeated short phrases like "God is good" or "Hallelujah" a few times, then closed with a very brief prayer, just a couple sentences. That's completely valid as a form of worship, but if you're looking for a sermon with teaching, Scripture breakdown, or practical application, this church may leave you feeling like something's missing. I left feeling a bit confused and underfed spiritually. The young adults community is authentic, encouraging, and centered on growing in faith together. This is a church of people who genuinely love Jesus and care about one another. The messages are biblically grounded, worship is full of joy, reverent, and about glorifying God, creating an atmosphere to freely encounter the Lord. There are so many opportunities to get involved and serve the community. The kids + youth ministries and beyond are full of absolutely wonderful families. My daughter is excited when I tell her we're going to church. I love that there is a worship experience for the kids too! It's so encouraging throughout the week hearing her sing Jesus loves me. Vive San Jose is our church home and we love being in community not only Sundays but throughout the week. I came to Vive when I was a new mom to meet other families with kids as we were the first of our friends to have children and now I help lead the moms group. There's even a parents lounge that's a quieter room for parents and babies up to 6 months with changing tables, a nursing area, bottle warmers and a play area for the kids! In that sense, it's clear that the church is rooted in Scripture and worship. However, from my personal experience, community was a downside. When I attended a couple of years ago, I found the church to feel somewhat "cliquey," with groups already formed, which made it difficult to connect. I eventually stepped away because I value genuine community where efforts to build friendships are reciprocated. Fast forward two years later, I found myself still struggling to form meaningful connections within the church. While worship and sermons are vital, community is also a huge part of church life, and unfortunately, I didn't feel welcomed or included. For that reason, I've decided to move on and find a place where I can both grow spiritually and feel connected relationally. No hard feelings at all, I truly wish Bold Church the best and hope they continue to grow in building deeper community. It just wasn't the right fit for me.

I had a very serious incident where I fell just outside the facility doors and ended up dislocating my elbow and being taken in an ambulance. The way it was handled was extremely disappointing. I was never seeking legal action--only basic human compassion. No one followed up, no one asked how I was doing, and there was not even an acknowledgment or apology when I returned to the church. After so many years of loyalty, I expected at least some concern or accountability. Sadly, this experience showed me that money seems to matter more than the people who attend. Because of this incident, my family and I will no longer be coming here. It's truly sad to say, as I once genuinely enjoyed this church, but it's clear that compassion is lacking when it matters most.
